Your organization skills are top notched! Love the grey covering all over, the bed is up high, the counter is a decent length, and the maximum spacing under the bed and the cabinets. The plus was the master lock on the back door for extra security!
@@mallorymcguire833 I get roughly 15 mpg, with the v8. I've gotten 15 mpg hiway, pulling a loaded van and trailer, well over a ton of weight. (it tows like a dream btw) The front end allows for the engine to be fully forward and easy to access, so it's practical. I appreciate that they dont appeal to everyone though.
I'm a "van guy" driven / owned ford, chevy and dodge. The nissan is by far my favorite in most every respect. (as for them being hideous, they may not be the prettiest van ever...lol...they are also a bit of a head turner, I get approached by often at gas stations etc...)
Hi thanks for the video. When you get a chance upload more videos of you van. It’s beautiful. I’m picking up mine this weekend, it’s also a silver one. Thanks again and good luck. Hope to see more videos soon. Be well.
Yo sick build. I love the window you put on the driver side. Can you provide the model or a link to them. I am thinking about adding 3 of them to my nv2500.
Nice build ,but I think you should have considered a bump out on the drivers side wall of the bed to give you some leg room so you don't have to sleep diagonally. Ideally you would have a bump out on the passenger side also but I think the slider door would hit it . Happy Trails.
My idea of bikes is they ride outside on a rack. They can be locked or put inside if you are away perhaps. Weather proof covers for rain but I don’t sleep with bikes. JMO
3 questions, please: 1. You said adding the windows was expensive. How much was each one, and who installed them? . 2. How is your mpg? 3. Could you have installed a toilet/shower in the 2500 had you done away with the passenger seat?
The windows were like $450 for the T-vents, and $250 for the regular ones. I installed them, they're made by CR Lawrence. MPG is around 16mpg with the bigger tires, which is about 17 if calculated for the size difference. The Sprinter I had for work got 18mpg in similar conditions, but oil changes were $400. Yes, but I prefer to shower behind the van and use bathrooms elsewhere...
Hi, so far, so good. No mechanical issues at all which is why I went with the Nissan, but I only have 40k miles on it. My Sprinter died twice, at 30k and 60k miles, both costing about $3000 and the warranty surprisingly didn't cover it.
Hi, I probably would have made some of the cabinets slightly larger to fit my clothing duffel bags better. I'm also always torn over having the bikes vertical with wheels attached, and a narrower bed lengthwise on the floor, but I'm not sure it would really work with three bikes. My Sprinter van could hold 21 bikes behind the rear sliding door, positioning them the way I did here. That's definitely the most space efficient.
@@wandersinnature6942 Why in the hell would anyone need 21 bikes for themselves? And youre pronouncing the word 'do•metic' wrong. Its a one syllable word.
That's a really nice van you have. After reading ton of reviews on other vans, many appear to be junk, I'm now considering one of these.. How do you find the mechanical reliability so far? Also, the dealer told me the height inside the high top is only 76" but yours looks higher?
I did it all myself, but it's not hard. Just pick up some relfectix and 3m spray adhesive. I also added 3/4" foam insulation behind the reflectix. You can also use spray foam in the boxed off sections, but I didn't, in case I wanted the run cables through them.
Hi, I believe it's 41 5/8" x 38" I'll have to double check. It's whatever the distance is between the wheel wells minus 3" to accommodate two 3/4" inch piece of baltic birch and two 3/4" drawer slides. The mountain bikes are size large, the cross bike is a 56.
These makes have weak transmissions, expect the transmission to go out at around 100k, then you will have to pay about $4,000 for a rebuilt transmission which might go out very soon after that.Otherwise they are very good choices for a van, but a poor transmission is a deal breaker.
WHY DON'T YOU TELL EVERYONE THAT THERE IS NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT ON THE NISSAN PASSENGER VANS AT ALL AND NO ONE CAN ANSWER A SIMPLE PART LOCATION FROM ANY ONE AT ANY NISSAN LOCATION INCLUDING ITS HEADQUARTERS, BUY A CHEVY OR GM!!!!!!!! I REGRET EVERY BUYING A NISSAN AND WILL NEVER BUY ONE AGAIN!!!!!!!!
We have 8 in our fleet. They are great. Never have issues w them. And they are loaded up crazy heavy. I'm here because one is being retired w 150k miles and I'm buying it to do a conversion. This guy is an idiot. 🙄

Love the minimalist carpet walls. I would have put the beds lengthwise somehow
Sweet build brotha, everything has its place. Bought mine 8 months ago, pick it up in a week from the carpenter, cant wait!
Thank you for sharing
Great conversion, we will be converting a Nissan NV 3500 with a high top next year so it's great to see how others are utilizing the space!
Great Job! Currently living out my my 12' NV2500. love it
James Wisrik Off road it’s the best. Full truck frame with all terrains. Haven’t had it in the snow.
I like how you pronounce dometic....sounds fancy
Domahtiq
Made me laugh! Then I thought of the old commercial “Hooked on phonics worked for me”
I always thought NV's looked hideous, but yours looks really nice. This video is changing my mind
I've never liked the front end it's too big. What kind of gas mileage do these get??

Dude I'd like to see a video on how you made those epic boxes. So neat and well made.
I agree. Very nice job. What materials and fabric did you use to cover your cabinets/boxes?
One of my fav vans yet- keeping it simple and cool love it
Beautiful, clean, simple and efficient! Well done!
Thanks for the video, very informative. Look forward to future ones.
Great build! Love the Nissan NVs.
I have those Grapples too. Turn off traction control, bust through mud and snow no problem. Just don't slow down!
Thanks for the video, very nice conversion.
Nice Set Up Bro! Thanks for sharing..

I just got mine it is so nice that people can see me now
It's a high top
This is way better than the rust prone Chrysler's vans.
Nice rig👍

Dude how did you felt your cabinets? Do you have a video on how you made them? Bad ass van! I just bought a 2021 Nissan NV S..

What are the cabinets that u are using and where did u get them?
Hi, I custom made all the cabinets out of 12mm and 18mm Baltic Birch plywood, then covered them in speaker box carpet.
My idea of bikes is they ride outside on a rack. They can be locked or put inside if you are away perhaps. Weather proof covers for rain but I don’t sleep with bikes. JMO
Yeah, but let me know how long your $7000 bike lasts locked to your van while you're backpacking for a week...
Sorry for all the rude ego inflated men in your chat. Goodness. Love the conversion.

So how has the van been for you? Any major issues? Recurring issues? Things you would watch out for if you bought one again? Thanks!
Love it man!
Like the commando look.
immense gratitude! I love it .
Neat ... like the build

just amazing
Excellent video. Any mechanical problems with the truck? I want to buy a high roof model too. Thank you.

Awesome truck bud. I have a white one but I work out of it. How is traction on dirt roads
No elbow pads when you ride?
Perfect build. What is your opinion on the flexible solar panel ? Thanks!
Can you tell me where you buy your rims because I will I have a Nissan NV 2500 just like yours but I’m looking for rims
Very nice.
Curious which lock you have on the back and if you installed that?
Hello. I just bought a 2018 nv2500 cargo high top. I want to do the same conversation. What would you change or do differently?

Nice van. It looks like you could almost put a single bunk bed on the overhead by the front seats. Do you think there is enough room?
Well done Did you buy new or used? Is there any websites of For Sale Nissan NV 2500 Camper builds? Looks like a comfortable rig to travel the USA in.
May I ask what is the width of your bed? I know you said its 70" length :) Also, did you have to use flares?
Hmm, I haven't seen any builds with the bikes going the width of the van. Might make for more room that way.
Yeah, that was the only way for me to get the floor space I wanted in this length van.
Love your build! How does it handle in high winds and mountain roads?
Who did the insulation for you? I'm having a hard time finding a company that will insulate vans.

Super! What is the standing height in the camper?
Thanks, about 6'2" with my build.
Nice build! What are the dimensions of the countertop?
Mann I need one 🤙🏽
So how is the Nissan NV treating ya??
Any complaints or problems?
Where can I get those wheels and rims?
Do you have more info on the bed frame? How did you mount it that high up?
nice van. can you get to the back from driver seat, or do you hafta get out the van and enter via side door?
Yeah, I climb over the center console all the time. It's pretty solid and there's plenty of room.
I love your build and I’d like to talk if you’re willing. I’m also in CO and would love some details, as I have an NV 3500 to build out!
@wandersinnature
Hey there! Any trouble with the van mechanically? I'm getting rid of my diesel ProMaster and starting a new build. Looking for a platform. Thanks!
Good call!! Can't believe they went fwd on that big turd.. the nv is a much better van.
You dont see a lot of this van type as a campervan..i wonder why?

What kind of Master lock is that on the back of the van?
It's a masterlock m736
How much did it cost you. Total.
Do you have the dimensions of the bike tray? Whats your bike size? Thanks in advance

Hi, I bought them from campervan hq, they had the best price at the time.
I bet that van gets hot and cold as ice
No shower & crapper?.
No toilet? Well, I guess as long as you're on the trail...
