So we can possibly have signature skills of
Valstrax
Gaismagorm
Chaos Magala
all in one go.
Maybe the true Equal Dragon Weapon are the friends we met along the way
Holy shit your right
Yeah made this set for a fire DB set with dereliction and my fire attack gets absolutely insane
@@saintlytiger7504 same here with dragon. Once i fill out the anomaly slots on it i will have over 200 dragon element on my glaive.
@@Mangoloonikus I main glaive and I got up to 151. Trying to raise it up. Recall kinsect pairs well in managing dereliction.
Dragon Conversion can also potentially serve as a comfort skill when using a single level for anyone that goes really hard on Skills+ crafting (that guaranteed -7 can hurt). Turning all that negative resistance to 0 will help greatly with survivability. I'm very excited to try and include it in my sets going forward, as I love to squeeze as many skills as possible into a set, but I'm not a speedrunner and do get hit from time to time.
lvl 3 conversion with all the element boosting skills is producing over 1k per TICK with CB.... just saying... walking around with a fat man does wonders for your survivability too.
@@asianartist1 I don't understand your point. Killing the monster obviously means it can't hurt you anymore, but more damage doesn't actually help you if you make a mistake or something blindsides you, which is what I'm talking about.
Also, not every person cares about elemental damage for every weapon. I am planning on using a single level of Dragon Conversion on my raw sets where possible, just to help with terrible resistances.
@@asianartist1 the best survivability is killing everything in sight
@@connorhamilton5707 I feel like sometimes, the MH community has a real problem with expecting everyone to be perfect with dodging/parrying all the time, and also only about 'high number good must DPS' without any other considerations.
And then, the worst case scenario is that when those 'MeTa' players mess up, they just fail your quest and that's kinda unfun. But well...
@@umbaupause Funny story, one time in Generations a player joined my lobby with Longsword, one of the people in the lobby ate for Insurance and that longsword player carted all four times in that quest and immediately left the lobby. I saved the final image of the quest (the one that shows where you were at when the quest ended) and it was a closeup of my character's face, and it kind of looked like I was going "are you serious?". It was almost the shocked pikachu face.
I can't remember what set they had, but they were playing Adept Longsword, so they might have thought they were still okay since they were playing the "best weapon".
Rise has really given us some crazy skills and synergies to play around with every content patch. It's by the far the most customisable Monster Hunter game, and so much fun to play.
Ummmm....ok
@@jamaledwards8118 is he wrong?
Fun? Yeah right..
Most boring MH title so far. Low rank, high rank, master rank, follower quests, locale quests, anomaly quests, investigations. Same monsters over & over, tiny bit stronger, way too many quests. There is no need for low rank anymore when the monsters are so easy to beat. Majority takes less than five minutes (can kill 3 master rank monsters in 10 minutes, solo.. There is something seriously wrong with the game). Elders around 10 minutes.
I even completed the strongest monster (Primordial Malzeno) in the game by accident without doing a single anomaly quest/investigation (for some reason that quest has no real MR requirement). Was so disappointed later to learn that I've already killed the strongest thing the game has to offer.
That quest should have been MR 200 unlock or something, after all the Risen monsters.
I'm hoping the next MH title (the game created by the main team; will stop playing the MH portable dev team releases - waste of time imo as they clearly don't know what they are doing compared to the main team) is closer to the actual thing.
@@LumenPsychonice bait
@@planelattice2783 Play something more worthwhile.
It really feels like as stronger monster got introduced, we as a hunter would also get the tool to become an even stronger monster.
Like when Fatalis weapons were the best way... to tackle fighting Fatalis.
You are getting the gist of it, we are hunt the strong, to become stronger, and at one point we become the monsters
At this point us hunters are super strong with all those skills, so i expect that we get a Fatty tier monster
dual blades got some great options in this patch, they already worked really well with elemental and now the dragon element is just gonna be insane, the hard part is going to be getting dragonheart onto the set and not losing things like wex, crit eye, ab7, dragon attack, crit boost, crit elem, and elem exploit, but since we can now get a lot of those harder to slot skills on qurio crafting and we can get up to 4 slot levels it may not be that difficult anymore, cant wait to see your build
This video really helped make sense of this skill, thank you! I've been meaning to make a dragon sns build..
Super helpful! Guess Im'ma go back to SwAx elem build. Thanks!
So, Valstrax is still arguably the best lance, it’s easy for the lance to hover around 80% hp.
This update ended up benefiting my build way more than I thought it would.
Lance isn’t that great for element though right
I think I found 1 of the 5 Lance mains in the world
@@joesheridan9451 It is if you play optimally. guard dash -> leaping thrust-> repeat is the best combo to deal a significant amount of elemental damage (for raw, it's guard dash -> leaping thrust-> wide sweep)
@@joesheridan9451 what the other person said is a pretty cut and dry answer to your question.
Adding on to that for a little bit of context, lance was part of the weapons that got an elemental/status damage/application boost (every weapon did but some more than others). Two of lances silkbinds also received bigger elemental MV multipliers, spiral thrust and skyward thrust, I like skyward (it’s objectively mathematically worse than spiral in most cases but more fun imo) so Dragon conversion was actually a pretty big addition to my set.
I was still able to maintain 90% affinity, CB3, AB7, Guard up 3 (needed for insta/blocking unblockable attacks), and all the comfort skills I like having. So it was just a flat upgrade to my damage output/survivability.
@@xxartemisxx1982 yeah see I actively avoid spamming that too much because I like to play more stylishly rather than just use one move in a weapons toolbox. I know that attack is good for element but I still thought overall element is not a huge priority
Divided by 20 and multiplied by 5? My guy, you are just dividing by 4.
I went over that part like 5 times I thought my brain was melting. Like, where's the 20 come from? It's a 25% conversion lol
The right way to math it, yeah. In their defense, they did say "every 20 resistance," so I think they were just following their math/logic and explaining it as such so people wouldn't question how they got those numbers. But you're right, it would have been simpler to just say it's a 25% conversion, hah hah.
The 20 is because every 20 resistance turns into 1 elemental attack
And theres 5 elemental resistances.....
@not related to bacon The math comes out to 25% so it's simpler to just say to divide by 4.
250 divided by 20 then multiplied by 5 (250 / 20 = 12.5, then take 12.5 x 5 = 62.5) is how the video describes it
versus just saying 250 divided by 4 (250 / 4 = 62.5)
The latter is just easier to say and easier to follow is all.
Someone doesn't know how math works lol
Another great video. Keep up the good work
I love this skill, it truly opens up a whole new level of Rathian bullying for Dragon builds
As a charge blade main, I’m am very pleased
Funny that I just finished making the dragonheart+conversion+dereliction+strife build before the video was put up. On DBs I reached a max of 324 dragon element with it.
I think we might be able to crack 200 Dragon with the right Qurio rolls this update
I never knew I need to build up resistance. Thanks for the explanation
Mechanically, this is a ingenious ability! This is basically a MODE CHANGE built in to the Scroll change!
It's like a better version of alatreons armour skill in iceborne lol
Just found out I could roll Dragonheart from Augments before watching this video, swapped an attack boost for DH, swapped a latent power for Powder Mantle, and another attack boost for Bloodlust
This build is gonna be perfect
I like the idea of Dragon conversion, playing around dragon heart for me personally would be a headache. But that's what is cool you just showed us how the basics of dragon conversion works but then went on to show its maximum potential if that is someone's goal. To each their own 😁
My current build:
Chaotic Gore IG
Valstrax soul
Augments 2 atk 7 element
Armour:
Risen Valstrax helm
Valstrax chest
Valstrax arms
Risen Valstrax waist
Valstrax Legs
Skills:
Attack boost 5
Dragon attack 5
Dragonheart 5
Resuscitate 3
Critical boost 3
Critical element 3
Stamina surge 3
Defiance 3
Element exploit 3
Furious 3
Resentment 2
Weakness exploit 2
Dragon conversion 3
Latent power 1
Bloodlust 1
Intrepid heart 1
Not just Dereliction, Bloodlust works as well if you’re not into the constant health drain Along with adding an extra 20% affinity. Coalescence’s attack and element boost synergies well too.
With augmenting, it could also work with Mail of Hellfire for an extra raw 35 atk on red on top of the element gain and slot in at least 3 Dragonheart. This I need to try out and see if it works like I think it does.
Will probably depend on the weapon on weather u want dereliction or bloodlust. Like in the CB clip elemental CB doesn’t need crit since phials don’t crit. However some like IG or DB might want bloodlust to get that affinity.
The Chaotic Legs, remove strife, or keep it depending. Comes with Bloodlust 1 and Coalescence 3 which is ridiculous in and of itself and I usually just run the legs on any gun set I have for a free attack boost for just doing what I normally do
@@raditz2737 The Chaotic legs have Berserk not Strife. Which, as a standalone, I’d augment off for some extra slots, personally. Bloodlust and 3 Coalescence is just too good.
@@ItzMiKeKirbY Oh definitely, just forgot which skill it qas off the top of my head. I basically traded it out for Bloodright
no way ive found your channel, i used to watch your minecraft build battles so long ago when I got home from school
Valstrax armor builds have always been my favourite for General use, love to see that Risen Valstrax will continue this trend
I would love the valstrax risen armor visually but the vents being forward and the arm thing....just irks me
So happy my favorite monster gets some more insane potential with dragons conversion can't wait to tinker with this (btw this encouraging players to be go go go with attacks is perfect for the argent commet)
Woot surge slash gs just got even better by alot. Well a dragon setup at least when you factor in dragon heart
I used something similar
Running valstrax LS with a dragon attack 3/weakness exploit 2 charm
I also had valstrax soul with full dragon convert and full dragon heart (mixed set of mr and risen valstrax plus extremely lucky crafting)
I've been melting risen dragona and amatsu while grinding AR
Its insane, if you can learn to be high risk and it pay off
There is also a big problem with dereliction and that is you heal when you swap! the health drain is only useable if you never use the resistance charge on blue.
healing on swap is still good though, because it lets you counteract the health drain and go defensive if you need to, its not ideal for the build but the damage boost is great
seems amazing for element cb
Elemental Horn build LETS GOOOOOO i love how they are giving us the go max in the skill for best benefit
Thanks for featuring may reddit post at the end
Dragon conversion & furious (red = +30 Def & + 20 all res ) for all my element builds I got 1 level on each of the 3 Val parts
This is nuts. I can’t wait to see what the new best dual blades build is
Same! Stamina Surge 3 as well on the waistpiece
you could negate tge dragon blight from dragon heart with blightproof if you want to use this set with other elements
Dragon Conversion is so good it makes the Stability option not be a bad choice. Also Resistance Dangos are amazing as well if you're not using Dragonheart. It's such a weird change, but I love it!
Quite the delicious "syngey." I'm going to unironically use that when talking about synergies with my friends.
Yeah I looked at the skill and went "dragon heart with this would be pretty good"
Can't wait to try this skill myself. So far Risen Valstrax is very stingy with both his Rise Gems and his Spineshells (most other Materials 40+. Spineshell 1...)
I feel this lol
you need to break his back
same. I use cb and am dying to try this skill out.
Spineshells can be grinded out on normal Val.
@@General_C every material is the same, the jewels are a quest reward
I augmented Furious onto the Dragon Conversion pieces for an extra +20 Res in each stat for everything non Dragon
does it stack when Dragonheart is activated?
@@GenesicShinZyraelKai Nah, Resistance caps at 50
You could consider max Dragon Conversion + Dragonheart Lv 2 + Blight Resistance 3?
It would also help against other blights, since Resistance 0 means you'd get them basically immediately.
"Dividing by 20, multiplying by 5" is a very complicated way to phrase "25% is converted".
I was screaming in my head "just divide by 4!"
Full valstrax set here I come again
Imagine That Skill and Valkhana armor set with that oh God
That sexy ice attack +5 on velkhana legs thoooooo
Frostcraft doesn’t work with this at all. It’s a raw skill
@@joesheridan9451 It says "attack" on the skill description but doesn't it actually works for all damage?
Thanks for the explanation. Was wondering if the skill was worth it
Question: Once you reach the amount of hits required to activate the blue scroll buff, is it active for the rest of the hunt?? or it runs out at some point and i have to go back to blue scroll to reactivate it?
Furious level 3 also give +20 to all elemental resistances while on red scroll.
Oh yeah, there’s that too!
And you can get Furious through Qurios crafting so it's a great win!
but max resistance is only 50
@@WyrmHeroBlade yes, but furious doesn’t give you dragon blight to give you the resistances, so non dragon element weapons would still be viable.
@@shadowsonic4452 thats actually a great idea for conversion on other elements, literally a 25 elemental buff off of just furious, in addition to whatever other resistances you have, the only caveat is that you need to get hit a lot to trigger furious faster, but it does have a ~50% uptime (100 second cooldown without getting hit at all, 90 second duration at level 3)
Pretty sure the way it's technically written is that you get 2.5 element attack points for every 10 element defense.
The switch skill swapping thing is not my cup of tea so I mostly use it to change playstyles for versatility purposes. So this (just like the invul thing of last patch) is a little too gimmicky for me personally. Tho I gotta say I am glad to see that they are giving us more specialized skills and thus encouraging build diversity instead of straight up power creeping with every new set we get.
So maybe something utilizing furious, dragon heart, dereliction, and the new val set. So maybe a mix of immortal set plus val and dereliction...
furious and dragonheart dont stack cause elemental resistances cap at 50, but furious is good for non-dragon elemental builds that use conversion
Fun fact: you dont need to go to blue scroll woth the dragon heart + conversion combo. The effect of d.heart will automatically boost your element attack since it tries to max your resistance but since your on red scroll its automatically converted
Yeah but will valstrax soul apply to the new boost though? Or anything else that increases element dmg by percentage?
@@notrelatedtobacon1282 valstrax soul applies because once u hit the hp threshold, you get dragon blight. Im not sure on other skills because i havent gotten good augments with strife on the build yet, so i can only confirm that val soul does work
@@Mangoloonikus ok cool thanks was wondering for my pure dragon element build that uses all valstrax skills
@@notrelatedtobacon1282 oh no that definitely works
Question though, after converting the resistance to element damage does it have a time limit before wearning off?
I find it funny all the ranged weapons got the biggest biffs TU3 and now its all the blademaster weapons getting buffed
how long does the elemental attack bonus buff last after you switched to red scroll? does it expires after a while or does it last until you switch to blue scroll?
These videos are great 🚫🧢
Gimmicky but super powerful. With dragon heart I had over 300 damage per tick with dragon DB on a Rathian's head, and that was without dereliction.
I don't like dereliction but 6000 on charge blade? I'll do it
Facts bro I can't wait to get this going
Ok. So I use glaive. I tried building a dragon conversion build and this is what I came up with. 5 dragon attack. 4 crit eye. 4 dragon heart. 3 crit boost. 3 wex. 3 stam surge. 3 dereliction. 3 element exploit. 3 dragon conversion. 2 attack boost. 2 crit element. 2 dragon resist. 1 furious. 1 strife. Etc. with all that I got up to 151 dragon. Some says they get up to 200+. What am I missing 😢
I'm curious as to how the game determines how much elemental attack to give for Dragon Conversion.
My guess is that it goes by the individual resistance values from each armor piece rather than the net total while either ignoring all negative resistances or treating them as 0. So if you have the following resistances, for example (Fire/Water/Thunder/Ice/Dragon):
H: +5/+0/-5/-5/+5
C: -5/+5/-5/-5/-5
A: +5/+0/+5/-5/-5
W: -5/+0/+5/+0/+0
L: +0/-5/5/-5/+0
Your total resistances would be +0/+0/+0/-5/-5, but if it worked off the sum total of your resistances for points, you wouldn't get ANY elemental attack. But by ignoring negatives while working through it piece by piece, you'd get 10 from your Fire resistance, 5 from your Water, 10 from Thunder, 0 from Ice, and 5 from Dragon, for a total of 30 points, which would net you a total of 7.5 extra element, rounded up(?) to 8.
Am I correct?
Unfortunately I heard there was a cap to using dragon conversation with dragon heart. Even with all resistances cap at 50 they said they were only getting about 40 extra elemental. Idk if that's verified yet though
In total for every 4elm resistance you get 1 bonus elm dmg
As a longsword user, this seems insane. With dragonheart 5 dragon conversion 3 you get 250 element res. 62.5 more elemental damage. Valstrax souls grants 20% more. Average primordial malzeno weapon could get 145 dragon attack.
Amazing! Too bad it will take a while for me to get to MR160
As a CB user, this excites me. But I like to run a blast build so I'll probably ignore it
Damn just from doing my math on the cb clip that's 5766 damage not bad for my old 4 ultimate main weapon
What armour and decorations am You supposed to throw in to make this set
Can we please get a build video for the dragon conversion charge blade build
I wonder if defense 7 would be good and stack with everything since you gain extra elemental resistance.
why not just use Hard element res in that case? they're a lv4 deco
It's suppose to be 15% for lower levels of the skill and 25% for max level.
Ranged weapons on the other hand have 4% and 8% for the conversion rating...
It would be kinda nuts if the bowguns get a massive element buff due to how their elemental shots work
@@Crttyt67 I mean ye it makes sense, I just think it kinda sucks for em.
What if you use an elemental phial switch axe? With Risen Vals / Dragonheart mix?
Does the red scroll buff last forever after we proc the blue scroll effect?
Also this seems to not work with poison element but worked for others just fine.
Yes it shouldn't work for poison, paralyze, blast, or sleep since these are all status and not elements if you want something for poison I recommend chamelos blessing or status trigger 👍
So technically, if you have negative element resistance and you swap scrolls, it’s a buff to that element resistance…🤔🤔🤔
And MoHF can give you well over minus 60 element if naxed in blue scroll
Okay but I still have questions
A) does this affect status
B) does the elem res buff fade after some time
C) does the elem attack buff fade after time
I assume you can't just get one combo and then have 60 extra elemental attack for the entire hunt so how exactly does this work?
Does not effect status and both the Res buff and the corresponding Element ATK buff last until you cart or swap from Red to Blue Scroll
Please give us a new best GS build!
For the love of all that is holy. Please condense the formula to dividing total positive element by 4. You get the same numbers with so much less math.
Time to make a new Immortal Build >:3
Can this armor be used with Longsword. And Velkhana set too?
Haven't played Sunbreak in a while but remembering from World. Doesn't gunner give you a boost or multiplier to your resistances and blade master to defense. So would Bowgun and bow get a natural bigger boost to conversion?
No not a boost less damage
But i think it will work on hbg and bow pretty well
*Me, watching this video at MR 110*
"Hmm, interesting"
What happens to negative element resistances when you do this? (does it get turned to 0 or remain negative)
0
Rage gaming, please, I'm begging you for a new Switch Axe video. I'm two updates behind and I need help getting up to speed 😂
Technically use nullberry get rid of dragonblight for other elements?
Wonder how well this works for Switch Axe...
how long does the conversion last?
WTF! This armor will change elemental sets meta game!
it already has, there's a cb video showing over 1k per tick...
No idea what all these means, I just use it on all my builds to negate all the ele defence penalties I have from augmenting armour.
i gave up using dragond heart i play with people that use wide range and a hunting horn player that only uses healing horns
Now just gotta wait till this is released on ps5.....
Not sure if I can count a 4gem for one point as "easy to get"
But couldn't you just use Blightproof to prevent getting dragonblight while using dragonheart? 🤔 in that case it would work for other elements too wouldn't it?
But I think it reads that you have to be affected by Dragonblight. So if you're preventing it, would it even work?
is there not a dragon inverted conversion....where red scroll has the res.....
how busted would this be w chaotic gores special effect…..
Nice
