What are you doing down this far, go leave a comment since you wanna scroll ;)
Sorry for the 360p, not my fault I promise! UA-cam is stuck trying to process the HD version.
In the mean time, comment what weapon you're looking forward to running with this new skill!
Edit: FINALLY, HD! Enjoy it in full 1080p guys xD
360p crew representtttt
You could go even crazier with a dragon weapon since you can use the new dragonheart deco which gives you 50 resistance and dragonblight so you can use the valstrax rampage deco for extra 20% dragon attack
@@user-hv6nl3cz1z gave this a try, check it out: ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
@@user-hv6nl3cz1z i tested on toad got 870 a phail with 3 risen Val & 2 normal (element was 190 & I have not done the new element slots augments)
Sunbreak?
I haven't tested yet, cause of the grind, but I'm pretty sure with the max anomaly stat boost, with dereliction and strife you can pull 1k off hermitaur as well. But since you can quiruo craft for strife as a tier 1 skill, you can roll strife on a dragon conversion piece then pair with dereliction for max element. Going to work on dragon conversion 3, strife 3 dereliction 2/3 with element atk up +5. Probably the new meta for element
Wow, so the element res Dango is now a +5 to element damage if you double skewer.
I totally forgot about those! Going to test them!
Thanks!
Yes
I used the 3 pieces for Dragon Conversion, 2 pieces of normal Valstrax gear + 1 Dragonheart deco for 3 levels of Dragonheart. Once you get below 70% hp the dragon heart kicks in and all elemental resistances are raised to 50. Swap to the red scroll and that is a s*** ton of elemental damage added. The deco slots give plenty of room to max out critical element, element exploit, element attack up, etc. I main insect glaive so it doesn't take full advantage of elemental attack but I'll definitely be making some op elemental builds for bow and dual blades this afternoon. A pre-hunt meal consisting of all elemental resistance dango sounds good as well. The ONLY downside to this build is that I can't bring Hinoa on quests anymore bc she heals too much.
That's what I thought of first too, but then you'll realize this only works specifically for Dragon Element weapons, because Dragonheart afflicts you with Dragonblight, negating any other element you might use.
@@JaceGarrdok you're right. It was late when I made the build and I just used the weapon on my main build which happened to have dragon element so it worked out well. I wonder if a nullberry would cure the dragonblight but keep the resistances up, never really messed around with dragonheart since it was the meta in base game but that was quite a while ago.
@@dustinbiester4401 nope, it constantly inflicts you with the blight
@@BadEnd98 well I guess monsters that are weak against dragon element got royally screwed in this update then.
well i guess the Dev figure's we might do something crazy anyway, from what i tested, Dragon Conversion have a Cap of how much element stats it can boost, on Melee weapon it's 63 Cap, and Guns are 20 Cap. you can reach the Cap at 63 even with Dragon Conversion at lv1, even without Dragon Heart.
meanwhile me running a normal element cb endgame build with negative resistances in every element
Awesome, looks like the dragon conversion set skill is better than I thought it would be, considering Alatreon’s set bonus isn’t anything to write home about, both skills sounded similar to me
yeah, i think they learned from the short-comings of Alatreon bonus and really kicked it up a notch here. Super OP for melee weapons, not so great for ranged unfortunately
@@LordViettner Awesome! It definitely seems like they learned a lot from World/Iceborne. I can’t wait to see what they have next in store for us with MH6
at 1:40 rathian be like: yeah yeah yeah that hurts bro
The build I wish I had for Alatreon or Fatalis in world, would've made it so much easier to solo them
I've been struggling to find someone to explain this thank you
Wonder how crazy the echos will hit on Hunting Horn
gonna be wild i'm sure!
Looks like when you build up on the blue scroll till you get a ton of elemental resistance, then switch to red, it adds loads of element.
Will have to wait till next week unfortunately to really give it a go.
I’m sure that I could get a pretty damn spicy horn set put together.
I tested it with narwa which is among the highest elemental vs the crabs, shockwave was hitting for 150 per hit, even water vs say silver rath which he isnt that weak was taking 70 per hit and it jumped past 100 when he get the buffed state. Even verus velk with anjas hh which doesnt have much fire damge, that one was shooting past 160 fire so it hit for 108 per shockwave hit and even the superpound did 600 damage on a crit.
edit: this is with lv3 burst, lv5 elemental attack, lv3 dragon conversion staying on blue until i saw the res up sign to swap, and dereliction lv3, that dps was insane and since most hh can heal itself it deals with derelctions dps fine.
Oh God those numbers are as big and juicy as risen crimson glow valstrax's damage per hit.
fr fr
Seems this kinda look like 3 pieces Alatreon skill from Iceborne but with more crazy multiplier. Well, Risen Val is really hard here in TU4,many that unprepared carted left and right in Multiplayer.
it's literally the first thing i thought of - mechanics are pretty close.
Hi im newbie, i want to ask if crit
boost need for elem phial ? I like your build 🙂
@@rhedcrimson2829 elemental phials cannot crit. Usually you would still want crit boost for your sword and axe hits, but this set can get pretty crowded after Rapid Morph, Load Shells, Dereliction, Element Attack, etc. so just pump your elemental resistances instead.
Was honestly disapointed that the dragonheart dragon didm't have that skill, as I wanted a gs set, but this changed my mind. Imma make those pieces
if you couple this with dragonheart, things get crazy... ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
i like this over the red health builds because those require you to absolutely master the game. for beginners like me who still learn stuff even up until the endgame, dragon conversion builds are top notch
If you’re running dragon cb you should definitely use dragonheart. At max it gives you 62 element from the 50 res, and not only that, the rampage deco valstrax soul gives you an additional 20% dragon element. With a base of 60 dragon, your raw element will be *179* plus dragon attack.
ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
Another great video Lord V. Keep up the great work. I'm going to try out Dragon Conversion on Switch Axe once I build the set :) Don't forget to eat for elemental resistances if you have a spare Dango slot!
good call! let me know how swaxe feels with that! got a feeling ZSDs are gonna be INSANE
@@LordViettner Will do! Cheers!
Nice Video
Trust me youre gonna be one of UA-cams biggest mh creator
Keep it going 😄👍
Thank you so much! :D
TDS just uploaded a run against Velkhana were they hit for 1300 each phial (scummed augments ofc) but gaaaawd dayuuum
yeah it's crazy, HCZS's been working on that run for a while now
That long as white sharpness though... no green or blue. Just 15% of red and 85% white sharpness.
so this is how great the skill is for cb. I have been farming violet mitsu for points and fun because got nothing else to do until tu5. I don't even have dereliction on the ice build, just resist gems and other qol stuff. still getting phails that hit for 1000.
if you wanted to squeeze out a bit more damage on the elemental side, those single slots could be elder dragon blessings matching the weapons element, kush for water ice, teo for fire, currently nothing for thunder or dragon...
Was pretty excited when I first saw this skill, till I saw the damage conversion for gunners making it seemingly worthless. For blademaster though, would it be worth it to try and fit in dragonheart when somethings weak to dragon? Or would you lose out on too many other necessary skills?
Good video though, super tempted to try CB with this.
tbh tho probably for the best we don't get the 25% conversion with HBG xD everyone would only play that then.
seriously tho they could've gone at least 10%, bc this skill is way below even 1 dereliction qurio, much less once you have all 3 active. Great news for melee players tho!
@@LordViettner Yeah I agree 100%, probably for the best that gunners don’t have access to the full 25%. Was just hoping for something to shake up the bow meta a lil’ bit. It does seem super nice for melee though! Also just looks really fun to play around with.
true, it's always fun to use the new sets. It's still really good, it's close to dereliction with 1 qurio, so if you're not super into HP drain it's a nice boost to prior sets.
@@LordViettner good video bro. Didn't know that it's only 8% conversion rate for gunners tho. What a bummer. Feels like dereliction +3, MOH+3, Ele Exploit+3 and boost raw to high heavens would be more beneficial and consistent for gunners.
Seems like i need to get another risen Val armor sets for blademasters build as well. Man, what a bummer. I hate fighting valstrax 😑
I’d assume this mostly works against monsters with a weakness to dragon element in which case rathian better say her final prayers
works for all elements! dragonheart and valstrax sould are the one's that directly influence dragon only
Ah I thought the armor had more dragon element skills than I thought
believe it or not, fire is just as good if not better
TU4 and wild heart 'demo' ,this week is sick
gonna be a good time :D
You can eat for element resistance for more damege
how does this pair with dragonheart and valstrax soul? just curious because i imagine with the 50 res to every element this could probably make for insane dragon element numbers
it's super good! definitely worth going for if you can :D
Yeah, it great. I test it it add around 50 elements and if you use valstrax rampage deco u can add more 20% . You will reach new record for elements number
but valstrax armor give dragonblight. can we remove that dragonblight using Breath Jewel 3 ?
@mualim It only useful for Dragon Element's weapon since it not affected by dragon blight. I don't think you can remove the dragon blight by dragon blight
Does this also work for impact phials or just for elemental?
elemental only, impact only scales with raw
I think you dont need atk boost lvl 7 when running dragon conversion cb i tried slotting 4 hard res decos instead and got 700+ to 1k dmg per phials consistently and i dont have bloodlust either my setup is bloodawakening + dragon conversion the armor is primordial + kushala then i rolled dragon coversion 3 on talisman the quality of life + dmg is really good
Woah noice
1k per phials wtfffff
As a CB main since 4U I’m excited
it's crazy! super fun to play with
Since it's possible to get strife on qurio rolls now, im already seeing people going around with DC + Strife + Dereliction + Bloodlust + Coalescence
yeah it's gonna be insane, basically every armor piece is viable at this point bc almost every skill can be got as an augment xD
Might build this set after a bit, I wasted all my risen gems on the layered armor, cuz I am me and me is dumb 😂
fashion hunting is v important tho! layered armors are a necessity xD
What do you think about losing some latent power in exchange for maximizing burst and adding full offensive guard?
good, latent power is kinda meh, i'd drop it for other skills in a heartbeat!
Is it worth it to go for the rampage slot upgrade to fit in elem bane? Or we stick to running the maximum bonus elemental damage with anti species deco?
you can if you want, it really depends on the weapon
elembane only is effective for parts with elem hitzones of 25 or higher, which isnt always gonna be hit. imo, for the meta elem cbs instead of using 4 qurio slots for rampage upgrade its better to just put in element
@@kunalpol9256 dayum 25 is quite high indeed. Thanks for the info!
and here i am, still trying to find out how to mke my desperate roar raw OP
raw cb I think it's better to just use chainsaw mode and use either poison or blast. the saed phial damage is low and slow compared to chopping a monster to bits.
if you have vengeful broadfeller you can combine it with maxed out powder mantle so you get multiple explosions going off while swinging away at your chainsaw, plus you can air dash through roars
@@professorpenne9962 by desperate roar i mean tigrex long sword
"No Dereliction"
Sold.
WHAAA??? Amazing! Too bad i suck and for kill 1 risen val i spent 38minutes of pure pain, fear and sadness. + 2 carts lol
Hi, just checking with you so basically any of the armor sets i want to build dragon elemental i can leave it at red scroll to get bigger damage is that correct? Cause i'm abit lost about this armor sets
you can build this specific set for any element, then yes, you want to stay on red scroll. if you're going purely for dragon, you want to run the set shown here: ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
(set is in the pinned comment)
Over 1000? Holy shit
why my saed only doesn't do chain impact damage 😢im using elementab cb
Hi im newbie i want to ask if critical boost need for elem phial? I like your build 🙂
No, phials cannot crit, crit boost is good for your weapon attacks, as they also deal a lot of damage! Thanks for asking :D
Its like alatreon set
very similar yes, better skills tho
I run this build with Max Furious, Element Embane Rampage slot and Critical element +Element Exploit. You van also aim for Quirio crafting i/ gem slotting Dragon heart lvl 2/3 which increase all of your resistances by 50 when you health is reduced to 50/70% respectively. That will give you an increase of 62.5 element damage when it is activated.
Will it work with the prev skill like teostra blessing, daoras blessing, and stormsoul?
yes, those will boost on top of this
also can confirm it absolutely does
remember when people said cb looked underwhelming in rise? they are eating their foot rn lol.
yeah forreal, the swing from how crap it was in base rise to being able to hit for a couple thousand per SAED is wild 😂
Capcom just remembered in expansion that we the CB mains exist. Don't remind me of base Rise CB, gives me shivers!
even css is amazing with a blast and powder mantle, knocking over monsters like a wobbly bowling pin and breaking parts
What're the materials for Chain Jewel +4?
Astalos Mantle x 1
Anomaly Jewel x 5
Risen Dragonbone+ x 6
If your resistance is negative, how does the conversion work? Will it go to zero but no conversion or will it just stay in negative?
i don't think it does anything, it goes to zero but i don't think it subtracts element. let me double check and i'll be back with an edit
Edit: nope, doesn't reduce element for negative ele resistance. I did full Risen Val armor, -2 for fire, water, ice, and thunder, on each piece, so -40 total and you still gain element for the positive dragon resist!
@@LordViettner nice. Thank you for checking it.
How about mix it with furious ? It is good ?
yes it's insane
Would this work with dragonhearth? At 80% hp u get 50 in all element res and 10% raw .. but would only work with dragon
yes: ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
how does negative element res interact with Dragon conversion?
it doesn't, any element resist at 0 or below (negatives) counts as zero. so it would take you from -10 fire resist, for example, to 0 fire resist, but you don't lose any element, you just don't GAIN any either.
Valstrax is so cool
Does dragon conversion work with furious and dragon heart?
yes!
Ah yes, the better alatreon set
That skill mostly only good for dragon set (I could get 1008 phails on shogun before this update with mail set)
true, but with this skill you don't lose defense in red scroll or lose ele resist in blue, just goes to 0 ele resist in red scroll, which is still better than negative on mail of hellfire. just another option for a style of play, which is always a good thing
@@LordViettner I never go red with mail & I rarily die even with - 58 element
I like walking on a blade 1 spark & boom I die (use d heart too much in base rise)
Most monsters have only a few element atks so easy to read them
I never liked dereliction working on some risen Val sets after I upgrade my cbs (over 20 more element with 2 upgrades count me in)
I think you missed people doing over 1200 phials and like none of the runs are with dragon weapons
@@professorpenne9962 that is only rapid morph counters sets till I finish my new set I don't counter
no artilery?
artillery only works for impact phials, not for elemental phials. same with bombardier food skill
No artillery?
artillery doesn't do anything for elemental phials, only impact, so no
@@LordViettner ah that makes sense, thanks
i can only watch 360p ooof
dude yeah (pinned comment). UA-cam is crapping itself, been almost 3 hours and all it says is "this is taking longer than expected" xD idk what to do
no rapid morph surely trolling?
fit it in after, hard to get it in without augments
If it converts your elemental defense into elemental damage than can't you combo it with dragonheart? imagine that
you can! I made a video on that here! ua-cam.com/users/shortsEuRybAi_Y_o
I have 12 palicos😅
No guard on Cb? I'm addicted to guard 5+embolden, maybe i will stick to the embolden deco
nah you don't need it for counter peak performance, you can run it if you want but it's getting expensive to fit things into CB nowadays xD guard, embolden, element, rapid morph, load shells, element exploit, etc. need too many things so guard can go for me personally
frostcraft longsword pls
already looking into it for sacred sheathe! may be using that set in a collab video with a friend of mine :D
Not having guard is super trash.
nope, counter peak performance doesn't require any guard, so going for guard over the other key skills is a total waste. if you want to add it in after the fact, with augments or a better charm, you of course can. But it's super redundant to run guard when you can just use counter peak performance to both block and charge phials at the same time
@@LordViettner Heavily disagree.
This line of thinking was addressed and debunked in base Rise.
Its why every nearly every single non CSS build for endgame of Rise, and for Sunbreak includes either Guard 3 or 5, save for the Immortal Vampire build.
I enjoy your content but this is patently bad Charge Blade advice that is passed off as hard fact, instead of your own personal playstyle choice.
@@leonfrancis3418 so add guard to your sets, like i've said 100x on this channel, if you like a skill, use it. no one is forcing you to copy my build/skills exactly. "i would use guard" then use it dude, no one's stopping you xD
@@LordViettner Look, I'm not attacking you for not using guard, or for posting sets without it.
The entire game is subjective.
People will use what they want to use.
I'm simply calling out awful weapon advice that goes against everything we know about the weapon, and passing it off as hard fact and not your own particular playstyle and choices as you did in your reply to Haruta.
Claiming Guard is a waste on Charge Blade because CPP exists is like claiming Quick Sheath is a waste on Long Sword.
Misinformation like that needs to be corrected.
I have no beef with you, and this is not personal. As I said, I enjoy your content and uploads.
Below I'll copypasta a post from Reddit, from over a year ago, talking aboit the base game, that addressed this line of thinking, and caused nearly every endgame Charge Blade build from that point on to include AT LEAST Guard 3.
"The current CB meta is essentially Guard 1 or no Guard at all, then stack offensive skills to the moon until your slots pass out from the strain.
Again, it looks lovely on a character stat sheet, and does great numbers against the training cart dummy.
And then any monster worth fighting so much as sneezes, and you're sent flying back 50 yards and eating a 10 year guard recovery, unable to counterattack if you don't resort to using a wirebug.
From a guard point. You know, the thing the weapon is designed around being able to counterattack from.
Longsword, of all weapons stacks a 3 point utility skill in all of its sets that is mandatory, even at the expense of AB7 or CB3.
Yet with Chargeblade, a historically skill reliant weapon, we think it's okay to forgo a skill that literally allows the weapon to be played the way it was designed, for a few extra points of Attack Boost?
The culprit here is Counter Peak Performance, or CPP. It's why so many people are comfortable building sets in the fashion I described above.
We've all seen the advice in some shape or form.
"Ignore guard points in Rise. Just use CPP. It does everything a GP does and more."
This flawed advice has led to two things, and I'll address them in least to most important.
People follow this advice and hate CB now. The weapon has lost its identity. You've seen the posts and comments here and on Monsterhunterrage.
"Charge Blade feels awkward to use." "You can't guard anything without CPP." "Why did they nerf guard?" "Why did they make Charge Blade reliant on CPP?"
People are missing out on damage on their current builds.
Outside of dedicated Condensed Spinning Slash builds, and super scripted speedruns of which a fraction of a fraction of the player base are trying to do, you will get more damage from the opportunities created by running Guard 3 and setting yourself up for boosted Counter Morph Slash counterattacks (AEDs,SAEDs, and stuns) than you would from trying to stack any point of AB. (Realisitically you don't even lose the whole skill, just a few points)
So why isn't CPP enough, and how does higher levels of Guard translate to damage?
Well, let's compare GP and CPP:
First and foremost if you're using Counter Morph Slash, a gaurd point gives a 30% boost to the phial damage of any SAED or AED that follows the guard point. Elemental or Impact.
If you're using CPP as a flat replacement for GP you're literally leaving damage on the table.
CPP eats your phials waiting to be stored. GP does not. If you guard point then counterattack (with boosted phials, at that) you can immediately store phials you had in waiting, then SAED again if you knocked the monster down. CPP will not allow you to to do this. It gives you full phials and resets you.
Another damage loss for using CPP as a flat replacement for GPs.
CPP gets absolutely demolished by multi hitting attacks or combos, even if there is a long enough gap between hits. GP eats them so long as you have stamina and as long as you gaurd pointed the first hit the entire combo gets gaurd pointed. If there is a gap, you recover quickly and aren't forced to commit to something.
You can combo gaurd point into CPP, but can't combo CPP into guard point.
CPP because of its lack of a knockback often leads to poor position for punishment with a counterattack. The slight knockback from a GP allows for easy counterattack and sniping.
This one can be alleviated with match-up knowledge and positioning, but it's still a con in CPP's corner.
CPP costs a wirebug. This is the big one. Guard Pointing costs you nothing. Our overeliance on CPP to just block and counterattack instead of for its unique features like instantly refilling phials or having the ability to instantly enter CSS OR CES means when we don't have available wirebugs, our shield is useless. We're forced to start dodging attacks, which itself allows for less of an opening for precise counterattacks than GP or even CPP does, or using extremely big brain Advancing Morph Slash timings and plays, which can sometimes still result in taking damage.
Getting to guard 3 (and possibly guard 5 for a very, very small handful of matches) leads to higher damage SAEDs and AEDs, more opportunities to fire off those higher damage supers, and more ability to capitalize on stun and flinches caused by them.
Math that out and tell me it's not worth more than 10% raw, which again, you only partially lose some points in.
It also leaves your wirebugs free to start experimenting with Advancing Morph Slash, which is heavily slept on, again because of our over reliance on CPP."
Its doesnt matter what ele resistance jewel u put in the empty slot cuz dragon conversion makes ur resistances 0. Also is dragon conversion+ dereliction better than strife+dereliction
correct and correct, but if you use blue scroll it does matter what ele resistance jewel. so if you're stuck in say Velkhana's ice storm nuke, swapping to blue scroll with +10 from conversion and +20 from Ice resistance will be better for survival, hence why i recommended changing it per matchup
You could now roll strife as a tier 1 skill on your dragon conversion pieces. As well as powder mantle, wind mantle and etc. Even mail of hellfire
@@PieMK6R lol - that grind though :p
Do you need to spend time using the Blue Scroll to build up Resistance, or does that not matter? I see an immediate improvement just staying in Red Scroll, just, not sure if I have to go into Blue once & awhile, then back to Blue.
no, red scroll auto converts resistance to ele attack. blue scroll is just for bonus resistance
How the fek do u charge the sword I figured out the shield but not the sword, in on xbox
when you hold RT+B to put the sword into the shield to charge the phials, hold Y until it 'pops' kinda and then release and the sword will come out charged (as long as the shield is charged)! also if you use counter peak performance to block an attack, tap Y to charge the sword (as long as the shield is charged)
