Yea because when you are doing that fake voice you cannot whisper. Any person can do it. Open up your throat and make your throat vibrate at the "bottom" like your trying to gargle in the base of your throat. Now speak like that. Congrats you got the fake ass voice too. Now throw on some sound editing and you are corpse.
It's actually very likely that he will lose his voice, I know that my throat hurts like shit due to similar medical conditions. And sure I've always been able to speak really low since I hit puberty, but my normal speaking voice used to be really obnoxious and high pitched, but now it's more akin to Corpse than any other voice out there, it's still an octave higher than Corpse's voice, but for how long, I still had a high pitched voice 3 years ago. But since then, my voice have dropped like hell. Mind you, I'm almost 30 now...
I worry that his vocal chords would be so damaged because of the genre of his music tbh. In a stream some time ago, he was talking about how he screamed a lot for recording a song the previous night. Combined with his GERD, I don't feel like his throat would be okay in the long run. I really hope for the best for him.

Has nobody told this guy about Corpse’s music? Though, admittedly... he’s not actually *singing* in it, now that I think about it. He’s rapping and screaming.
just pointing out for everyone in the comments: he's said he's always had a really deep voice, GERD hasn't changed the pitch much, just made it rougher
Something interesting that I noticed was his laugh. It’s at a relatively normal pitch for a laugh, which might make people skeptical that Corpse is exaggerating his deep voice for the content.
Thing is, Corpse can get his voice higher, he uses it in his music sometimes. When he screams his vocal tone is higher, in a more normal range... but very powerful. He's def not faking that his relaxed voice is that low and gravelly, though, listening to long streaming sessions. His inflections and reactions are too natural. He wouldn't be able to keep that up if he was forcing it.
@@DanteLikesRock It depends on multiple things tho, like how hard u laugh and what type of laughing it is. Also it is different for every person because that is how humans work. For example my voice is pretty low for a woman but my laugh is way higher than my normal voice is.
Corpse's "normal speaking voice" is pretty close to this guy's, you can hear it sometimes when he gets super excited or laughs really hard. He just speaks kinda softly and adds that deep fry, because when it hurts to talk you learn how to be heard without using as many muscles or as much air. I normally sound like Seth Rogan, but I sound like Corpse when I first wake up. Corpse just stays in that mode because it sucks less, or everything sucks, whichever.
And there are ppl still thinking his voice is fake... there are ppl with that kind of voice (examples in the vid). Idk why ppl even doubt it in the first place, it doesn't sound mechanical like a voice changer would make, ppl just need new ears.
It’s probably because they don’t know anybody in real life that have that deep a voice. I have met plenty and most regularly have pain or lose their voice occasionally. One of my friends hardly ever talks because it’s painful for her. She had stop talking completely for a month or so because her doctor told her if she didn’t she was in danger of losing her voice. Her son has it too but they are trying to be proactive about it because she didn’t find out about her condition until later in life she just thought she had a deep voice.
@@YeS-pn9hw you clearly don’t know what it’s like to have Gerd one of his medical conditions it’s very painful not something someone would just fake . And I doubt you can talk like that for long periods of time like he does or it would be painful
Did you even listen to what was said in the video? The swollen tissue and scar tissue make his voice grittier, raspier and give it more volume. This makes it seem deeper but it's not the reason his voice is that deep
Off topic, but you kinda look like an elf, your hair fades through colors as it goes up or down, you got the one strand that's on the left side of your head, reasonably clean face, just an observation.
I definitely noticed that my voice changed after getting acid reflux every day during the last few months of my pregnancy. It was like hellfire in my throat every night and I couldn’t sleep. I just can’t help but be scared for his voice in the future, he could just completely go mute. He’s already having a lot of struggles so can’t help but be worrying.
I would like him to "review" another UA-camr called Eret because Erets voice seems sound completely but when I heard them both in one discord call they actually sounded quite similiar.
Thanks for posting this! I had a comment in one of my videos regarding Corpse Husband's voice and had to check it out. Interesting sound. From what I understand, those who have a vocal fry disorder have similar issues where the voice is so tight that it is impossible to speak softly (not saying this is what he has) and makes it really hard to even sing unless the range is in the extreme parts of the voice (no middle range). Voice actors can use (or force) a bit more breath pressure to move the vocal folds to get a similar effect. Keep those videos going, brother!
I saw Avi from Pentatonix in the thumbnail and you just reminded me that their voices have similar low pitches... I'm not sure whose voice is lower. I know Avi has blown out speakers at Pentatonix performances before
I love Avi but pretty sure corpse can speak in first octave and has hit a sting E1 on stream. Buuuut it was very vocal fry-ey , because that’s just his voice type

David, HELPFUL EDITING TIP: When a video is based on a specific subject, it's often nice as a viewer to close on that subject. In this case, another short clip of CORPSE talking as the video closes would've been cool. For instance, I had to manually rewind the video to hear it one more time. Not a big deal, but just from a content flow perspective ya know? It's those little details. Food for thought.
I can hear it, but Charlie has more of a whine in his voice. It’s not soft. Like there’s a quality that grates on my ears. Add in the fact that Charlie tends to come off like he knows everything (when he’s usually wrong) and it makes it so that I personally can’t stand to hear him. Like Charlie assumes things and just thinks that he’s instantly right and runs with it. I tend not to watch as many videos with him in it. David here... I could listen to for hours. But that might just be personal preference.

Glad you liked it! Alongside beatboxing reviews, I definitely plan on making more voice analysis videos like this. I plan on uploading at least two videos per week starting next year, so I’m trying to diversify a bit while keeping the subject matter relevant! Thanks for the support! 🖤
I have GERD and I’m 15. I can sing any note in the lower half of the piano that I want. I heave a hard time producing sound when trying to talk. And honestly after watching this video, I’m worried I won’t be able to talk after 30. Sure really deep voices sound nice and cool. But in reality sometimes it’s a result of trauma.
Funny you mention Peter Cullen, as I was just chatting about him with some others in relation to oktavist John Sutko's speaking voice. It reminds me of Peter Cullen's, but starting with a voice that's much lower. Some nice sections about 3:00 in of him narrating. ua-cam.com/video/hm2qSeiTCfI/v-deo.html
Yes, falsetto, there’s a higher backing vocal that he says he did himself. At least for corpse a falsetto would def sound differently from someone who’s voice is ‘normal’. Don’t see the need to be offended 🤔
@@alyssaclark6690It's a little higher, but to be falsetto, the person who is singing must sing a considerably higher note with a really good contrast. You don't see that on this case here. He's just singing a bit higher.
Thank you so much for explaining GERD because I'm pretty sure I have it since I have chronic acid reflux. I think that might explain why I, as a vocalist, have been having issues with pain whenever I sing or speak nowadays. I thought I might have nodes, but this seems like it's probably what caused whatever issues I might have. Regardless, thank you for the info, because it's a good starting point in my research (especially considering I hadn't heard of GERD till now), so I can get the proper tests done.
Yes, GERD and deep voices are connected to each other. When I tried to sing like a profundo back in the day, forcing my voice down I developed kind of a breathing disorder which would eventually have a very painful impact on my digestive system. The stomach would let the acid trespass esophagus causing a great deal of other issues including
It's very interesting to listen to his voice in his first videos. I think he's like 17 in the first one and it's brighter but other than that it sounds similar.
Honestly, as a person with chronic GERD, I was surprised when I discovered Corpse. My voice is high af so I am often mistaken as a child when I'm on the phone. I have always been envious of people with lower/fuller voice. I never thought GERD could ruin someone's voice. The problem I always have with my GERD is the pain and difficulty breathing. I have always hated this disease of mine.
I randomly stumbled on a vid of his from 2015, his voice wasn't that deep back then, and I'm even more awestruck by the change, than the deep voice itself props to your explenation!
For anyone wondering, yes, his GERD has apparently gotten better and yes, he has that deep of a voice because of GERD since it does not just make your voice raspier but can also make it deeper.
It’s nice to hear that someone explains what corpse is going through and rather then ask him to speak people can take a second and understand that it possibly hurts. Great explanation and very interesting.

Open up your throat and make your throat vibrate at the "bottom" like your trying to gargle in the base of your throat. Now speak like that. Congrats you got the fake ass voice too. Now throw on some sound editing and you are corpse.

I worry that his vocal chords would be so damaged because of the genre of his music tbh. In a stream some time ago, he was talking about how he screamed a lot for recording a song the previous night. Combined with his GERD, I don't feel like his throat would be okay in the long run. I really hope for the best for him.
Yea and once when he was playing with karl Jacobs he screamed in a voice note and later said it really effed up his vocals for the night

I'll never get tired of Jason's reaction hearing CORPSE's voice for the first time.
Bro everyone laughs in higher pitch than they speak.
@@pewpew5649 bro did you even hear that old guy at the end of the vid? His laugh wasnt that much higher, if at all.
@@DanteLikesRock It depends on multiple things tho, like how hard u laugh and what type of laughing it is. Also it is different for every person because that is how humans work. For example my voice is pretty low for a woman but my laugh is way higher than my normal voice is.
@@DanteLikesRock That was a polite laugh, I’m sure he goes higher if he sees something so funny it’s hard not to laugh.

@Austin Kilgore yup if you haven’t met any one with it it seems unreal.

I hope he gets picked up to voice acting I’d love to hear him as a voice actor. The opportunities are vast!
I saw Avi from Pentatonix in the thumbnail and you just reminded me that their voices have similar low pitches... I'm not sure whose voice is lower. I know Avi has blown out speakers at Pentatonix performances before

When a video is based on a specific subject, it's often nice as a viewer to close on that subject. In this case, another short clip of CORPSE talking as the video closes would've been cool. For instance, I had to manually rewind the video to hear it one more time. Not a big deal, but just from a content flow perspective ya know? It's those little details. Food for thought.
are we just not gonna talk about how he sounds like Charlie(Greaseball)???
I can hear it, but Charlie has more of a whine in his voice. It’s not soft. Like there’s a quality that grates on my ears. Add in the fact that Charlie tends to come off like he knows everything (when he’s usually wrong) and it makes it so that I personally can’t stand to hear him. Like Charlie assumes things and just thinks that he’s instantly right and runs with it. I tend not to watch as many videos with him in it.
