    • @NGaming_AntonLykke
      @NGaming_AntonLykke 3 роки тому +726

      It gets worse over time. He has had it for over 6 years, so it doesn’t only play a role, it is 90% the reason, while the 10 remaining % is probably DNA, etc.
      edit: I forgot to mention he also has fibromyalgia, which also plays a very big “role”

      I have this disease diagnosed since 13 years. I never had changes to my voice after turning 15. Although I have to say, that I got diagnosed pretty early and i take meds and eat healthy. This disease will give u cancer and not a deeper voice. Sadly -.-

      @@lox9518 hahaha yeah that does happen too. And like I said, he has fibromyalgia as well, which impacts GERD. They’re both stomach/throat diseases, and when mixed together with DNA, stuff like a 40 hertz voice can happen (xd)

    • @lox9518
      @lox9518 3 роки тому +67

      @@NGaming_AntonLykke I think his voice is just naturally deep. Fr tho GERD cant rly change ur voice. The only think that I can think of and experienced it lots and lots of times myself is, that after eating acidic food like tomatoes and going to bed without meds that regulate the stomach acids the acid will go up in ur gullet and stay there for the night. After waking up u will feel the big nono and ur trought hurts like shit. That's why I tend to speak less and in lower non energetic volumes cus it doesn't hurt so much. But that goes away after 1-2 hours. But in that timespan I have a deep and crumbly voice, but not because it is deep. I'll just force myself to use this tone the reduce the friction and the pain. And I could speak for ever in this tone cus its comfy but u cant rly show emotions nor speak rly energetically with a person.

    • @NGaming_AntonLykke
      @NGaming_AntonLykke 3 роки тому +76

      @@lox9518 well obviously, you’re more experienced than me since you’re actually diagnosed with it. But I know for a fact, that when gastroeshophageal reflux disease is combined with specific types of DNA, etc. it can lower your voice to more than usual. Which is most likely also why corpse’s voice still keeps getting deeper and deeper, even tho he’s almost in his mid 20s. So you are correct. It is just his genetics that makes his voice deeper, but GERD, fibromyalgia and probably also some of his unconfirmed health conditions are supporting his naturally deep voice, making it more crumbly.

Even though he gains popularity because of his voice and lately also more and more because of his sweet character, i would rather not have him in pain only to gain growth of a youtube channel. Keep in mind that David is speaking about Corpse's voice, he is talking about his potential as a BASS SINGER. When he says "Corpse doesn't sing" he doesn't necessarily mean corpse doesnt do music, but the fact that most of corpse's music is him rapping in a lower register, not singing with his low voice.. The other examples that David has mentioned ( except Peter Cullen) are Bass Singers. Also the higher melodies , specifically the falsetto part in agoraphobia, is definitely Corpse singing , but has little relevance to do with Corpse's bass voice itself.

    Corpse's "normal speaking voice" is pretty close to this guy's, you can hear it sometimes when he gets super excited or laughs really hard. He just speaks kinda softly and adds that deep fry, because when it hurts to talk you learn how to be heard without using as many muscles or as much air. Thanks for posting this! I had a comment in one of my videos regarding Corpse Husband's voice and had to check it out. Interesting sound. From what I understand, those who have a vocal fry disorder have similar issues where the voice is so tight that it is impossible to speak softly (not saying this is what he has) and makes it really hard to even sing unless the range is in the extreme parts of the voice (no middle range). Voice actors can use (or force) a bit more breath pressure to move the vocal folds to get a similar effect.

      Yes, falsetto, there’s a higher backing vocal that he says he did himself. At least for corpse a falsetto would def sound differently from someone who’s voice is ‘normal’. Don’t see the need to be offended 🤔

    • @puucca
      @puucca 3 роки тому +3

      @@alyssaclark6690It's a little higher, but to be falsetto, the person who is singing must sing a considerably higher note with a really good contrast. You don't see that on this case here. He's just singing a bit higher.

    Thank you so much for explaining GERD because I'm pretty sure I have it since I have chronic acid reflux. I think that might explain why I, as a vocalist, have been having issues with pain whenever I sing or speak nowadays. I thought I might have nodes, but this seems like it's probably what caused whatever issues I might have. Regardless, thank you for the info, because it's a good starting point in my research (especially considering I hadn't heard of GERD till now), so I can get the proper tests done.

    Yes, GERD and deep voices are connected to each other. When I tried to sing like a profundo back in the day, forcing my voice down I developed kind of a breathing disorder which would eventually have a very painful impact on my digestive system. The stomach would let the acid trespass esophagus causing a great deal of other issues including

    Honestly, as a person with chronic GERD, I was surprised when I discovered Corpse. My voice is high af so I am often mistaken as a child when I'm on the phone. I have always been envious of people with lower/fuller voice. I never thought GERD could ruin someone's voice. The problem I always have with my GERD is the pain and difficulty breathing. I have always hated this disease of mine.

    For anyone wondering, yes, his GERD has apparently gotten better and yes, he has that deep of a voice because of GERD since it does not just make your voice raspier but can also make it deeper.
