How To Add Patches , Grommets and Leather Laces To Your Jeans

- A great way to jazz up a boring pair of jeans! In this DIY video, we will create an edgy and fun pair of jeans, with some fairly simple ideas and techniques. We will flare out the bottom by cutting a partial slit up the leg. Then, we will have fun with denim patches, creating a unique patchwork design toward the bottom. As if that wasn't cool enough, I will show you step by step how to insert grommets along the slits. Finally we will add leather laces through the grommets for an added unique detail. This is such a creative way to jazz up your own wardrobe or a special piece to sell if you create to sell!

Enjoyed the grommet process! I see that you placed the male half and then the fabric right side down over it. Good to know the female ring will then be on the wrong side of fabric. Excellent! Note to self: feed the leather laces thru then work it so only end of the laces will be cut off, saving a longer piece for later use.

These remind me of jeans I had in high school. We had huge bell bottoms with patches everywhere. You had to make your own no store sold them.

I was looking at your instagram site and found a denim shirt that is sewn like the white button down with the rows of ruffles along the edge. I love that top because it is dressy and playful. I’d love to see you do a denim one as I noticed you also put the ruffles on the sleeves. You always inspire me and I so enjoy your projects.

Your videos are addicting…. I have bought quite a few lace dresses and shirts from thrift stores and I am ready to start creating I just don’t know where to start??? Also I have a sleeveless cotton shirt I want to put 3/4 length sleeves on am not sure how to get started lol
My best advice is to pick a diy video and just go.😊 Adding sleeves to a sleeveless top is a video I've been wanting to dofor awhile, as I get a lot of requests for it. Maybe, it's about time🤗💛💛💛💛

In the description I did say, "these started life as a size 6, pair of American Eagle jeans that have been altered and embellished by me "

I love the idea, but if I try it, I will finish the edges of the patches because jeans frat a lot. Otherwise, I like it. Very 60's early 70's.
