How To Upcycle Overalls / Patching Distressing Bleaching Applique

- How fun! In this DIY video, we will be upcycling a pair of vintage men's bib overalls and turning them into a one of a kind piece of wearable art! With easy to follow instructions, we will be distressing, bleaching, patching and adding butterfly and flower appliques for a one of a kind creation. I have a new fun resource to share with you for large whimsical applique! These unique overalls are a perfect way to jazz up your own wardrobe or make and sell (like I did for over a decade).

Honestly, I don't think age matters. I'm 70, and I'm trying to upcycle my entire wardrobe (through Tracy's videos) and become a hippy again like when i was a kid in the 60s and 70s! Why not? So fun! Tracy is so inspirational and a wonderful teacher!

Can’t wait to see what you do with the butterflies from the shower curtain. My daughter and I have done several pairs of overalls, a rose pair and a butterfly pair. I have one more pair of thrifted overalls. I don’t know what I’ll do on those. I work at a local nonprofit thrift store.

I have been watching your channel for only about 2 weeks. And I love it. You are so talented. You really are blessed for your talent. You make just what I love. Boho hippie vintage to. I am one that has been afraid to chop down a garment and never knowing what to do next. You have been an inspiration as I watch your videos, it's helped me to have confidence and to go ahead and cut away, so what! it's a thrift find, right! . I have always loved the boho layered look and now I can create my own. I'm seeing that over time, I can just take my garment and create away and on a whim at times, right now I'm slow moe........ it's a ok.

Thanks for showing that adding fabric to the sides could make it fit loosely. I thought of doing that to a project but didn’t know if it would look nice. I like how you added the denim sides and it looks like it was intentional. Maybe even some print would look cute. Thanks again Tracey. 🥰

As always you NAIL IT. THESE ARE SUPER COOL!!!. LOVE THE BUTTERFLIES BEAUTIFUL. Yes shower curtains are amazing for up cycling and creating. They make wonderful beach wrap skirts and beach dusters because of the water resistance in the fabric and it drys fast.😊 in Most of them... the fabric is soft.

These are so cute on you. I love that butterfly on your lower back. Have you tried quilt fabric shops? Their fabric is usually 100% cotton; and, they have beautiful prints. I always shop at quilt shops for fabrics that I can fussy cut for applique projects.

I wondered, I have a denim dress and it’s a really awkward length on me, just below my knee, I want to make it longer. Maybe you have some ideas?
