I wanted to say thank you so much for all the positive feedback on the website! The first drop of plants sold out but I hope to do weekly drops either on Thursdays or Fridays. I'll let you know when the second drop will happen after I see how it goes for me with packaging times. I appreciate all of your continued support and for wanting to buy plants from me 🥹 Thanks for watching and have a great Sunday!!
Congratulations!!! 🎉❤ Sending lots of positive vibes and much success, you deserve it all😊
Thank you so much!! 🥹
Oh man. All the plants sold out.😢
🥂 Congrats on the successful launch! 🖤
girlllll everything sold so fast !!! 🎉 congrats! can't wait for the next drop to see what goodies you'll have 😍😍😍😍your mint omg 😍
Oh wow, i think you may have had some callus that accidentally got included with the main tissue culture plant. Callus (the hard wonky ball of plant tissue that has growth sprouting out of it) apparently produces lots of tiny plants.. and Melissa, when you pot those up, if there is any callus left on the seedlings, they may continue to multiply. This is as far as I understand it.
oh cool thank you for sharing! It was so interesting! I definitely got lucky getting this mint and so curious to see how they all grow here 🥹
just give more cytokine 60% auxin 30% Gibberellin 10% makes callus
Why are the sped up tippy taps when you’re adding the substrate so satisfying to me? 😂💕
Hehe I love it too! 😂🫶🏻
Their amazing. I'm super excited for the growth. I agree getting 8 babies from a $300 plant is definitely worth it. Wonderful job Melissa 💕🌼💚
Most definitely!! That would be amazing to have all these plants for the price of one :)
You are the only one of the UA-camrs I follow that when using nursery pots, put the moss poles in the center. They all try and make more room for the roots not understanding that the roots will fill in the space that’s provided whether they grow around the pole or just in front of it.
Yes! The roots find their way all around in the soil and not just in the front. The pole in the center gives me the most support 😁
Today Dr. Melissa performing surgical division on patient ‘mint’. Thanks Dr. for the class 👌
Love your nursing approach to plant care. I feel like we are in medical school together. Very illustrative 😊
I have no more room for plants but THIS is the one I will make room for once it’s finally on your shop!
Literally my #1 wishlist plant 😊
What’s the name of the store?
aw, they all seem to be doing okay since filming so hopefully they continue to do well and grow and I can get them posted in some time.
My site it up it's here: www.plantsbymelissa.com
I'm doing restocks in small batches so I can get plants packaged and shipped out as soon as I can. I'll be doing another restock soon!
With Xacto knives, you don’t have to sharpen them, you actually can buy little packs of replacement blades for super cheap! Those are my fave for propagating too🌱
Haha 🤣 I did not know this. I’ll have to buy some. No wonder my blade seemed loose and it’s come out before lol.
Congrats on selling out on your shop. Couldn't make it until a few hours later. Everything gone. Good job. Take care
Do you don't have right now availables plants in your website?@plantsbymelissa
Beautiful Monstera Mint! I can’t wait to see their updates. 🤗
I have several of those acrylic boxes. I turned two into terrariums, and few others I use for my baby plants. I keep them on heated plant mats. I use those acrylic plant rods (also from Amazon) to hold the doors open, when needed.
Congratulations on the success of your website. It’s wonderful to see your hard work pay off.
All of your beautiful plants were sold out, so i bought some of your substrate. lol!
May God continue to bless all of your hard work! 🙏❤️🤗
Thank you so much! 🥹
She’s beautiful!! Love all the new growth. Looking forward to more updates! Definitely on my wish list ❤
Thank you so much!
I hope all 9 of them make it! If they do it's like winning a lottery lol . Big mama is gorgeous 😍
Right!! 😂 So far so good but I'm excited to see how they do here.
Showing this video to my tiny two leaf mint monstera 👀
Also congratulations on your website! I placed an order and I’m so excited to receive happy and healthy plants! 💖
Thank you so much!! It was so fun to package them all up and I can't wait for everyone to get their plants. I hope to do another restock soon!
I’m bummed I missed the first drop but i know more will be available in the future. I’m so glad it was a huge success! 😘🌿💚
I have 3 of those acrylic greenhouses! In my home office, I have a wall of book shelves that have adjustable shelves. Hubby moved one of the shelves so that the boxes fit next to each other. BUT, I set the boxes on their sides so the door opens like a cupboard door. That way they are much higher for taller plants! The best part is I took the acrylic box lid from Ferrero chocolates, put them in the box. After putting my solo cups of plants inside (inside a hole-less solo), I put a layer of water in the tray. I put my humidifier on the edge of the cups, closed the door and much later came back to find the humidity to be 70 degrees. Oh, hubby installed a Barrina grow light under the top shelf. Cool, huh?
I will definitely keep an eye on your shop for those babies!
I just know your website will be successful, and I will for sure share it with and on other channels to get the word out. Your amazing Melissa 🎉❤
Thank you so much Dora 🥹
Wow that’s a big box.
How exciting Melissa!!!! I hope your shop and website continue to thrive and that you have many returning customers. If you shipped to Sydney I would definitely be one of them 🤩 All the very best in your endeavours 💪🙌🏻🫶
Thank you so much!!
Congratulations on the New Plant shop Melissa! I hope some day you can ship to Canada...no pressure though🤭
So exciting!!! Crazy 'root ball' woooo!
haha it was definitely so weird!
I just wanted to add that I have been wondering if you yourself will try out culturing your own plant tissues, since you hae launched your shop. congratz btw!! I hear you sold out! I hope the rumor is true!
Thank you so much! I would be interested and trying to culture my own but I think if I did it would be a while. I think I would have so much to learn! I love the process though!
A very educational video, you were at your best as a Plantologist Extraordinaire. Thanks very much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
that's the prettiest monstera mint ive seen😍😍 Ive seen a lot of them like look kind of sickly, now i want one
I can't wait for the leaves to get bigger 😁
I just went to your website and you're sold out of everything! Congrats!!!! I knew it would be a hit❤
Thank you! 🙏 I'll be doing another restock soon!
I had been looking for a prop box just like that. Perfect timing! Also, congrats on your new shop! It sold out so fast haha
Thank you! 🥹 I'll do another restock soon!
Congrats on being “sold out” on your opening day!
Thank you so much carol! 🥹💖
Absolutely love the monstera mint! This is a gorgeous mom and babies. Super excited about the new website 🎉
Thank you!! I can't wait to see the plant grow more 🥹
All you do is amazing. You take such great care of your plants. They all look beautiful .
Thanks so much!!
Keep up the great work Melissa! Love love your channel ❤
Thank you so much 🥹
If I didn’t live in Australia, I’d purchase from you :-).
So exciting! She is very gorgeous. I recently bought myself a baby Monstera Aurea named Audrey and I hope she does the same.
I’m in autumn here at the moment, but I will be buying a mint in spring or summer ❤❤❤
What a beautiful plant! And the little babies will help recoup what you spent so you can buy something new and exciting. Maybe another wishlist monstera?
Thank you! I have been looking at some variegated alocasia 👀😂
@@plantsbymelissa Oh yes! I’ve had my eye on some of those as well!
So many cute little babies 💚
They are so cute!! 🥰
It’s snowing outside. Spring woohoo
oh no!! I hope the snow goes away soon!
Beautiful plant. Where are the kitties? 😂
Thank you! haha they must have been sleeping or outside on the patio :)
For some reason when you talked about chopping it I thought you would take the top two leaves.
Oh I definitely wanted to take as much of the growth with the main plant as I could.
Cravings satisfied🤩
Your shirt! It looks so cute. I love mushrooms. Can you share it, and maybe where you got it?
I like mushrooms 🍄 too and her shirt is very cute indeed😊
Thank you!! I got it in Target the other week! It was with all the T-shirts. It has hello kitty on it too lol. Here's a link to what I bought if you want to look at it rstyle.me/+CLFg1qOMXv1W8-9ZxAJreg
It’s so pretty!!! I want one so badly since my Thai died :(
So sorry about your Thai 🥹
I chopped my monstera deliciosa(from 10 leafs to only two cause I couldn’t stop the infection of the leafs),put some worm hummus on top of soil, watered and it started two new growth points in just 6-7 days
Awesome job separating those babies. I love that case, would like the information on it, so I can purchase one. Ty
Thank you so much! Sure! Here is what I bought: www.amazon.com/dp/B09NVLJL7B?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B09NVLJL7B&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
😊👍...Thanks for ✂️
It was fun to do this chop!! ☺️
youre way bolder than me. I when have put that mass back into a pot and waited until it was bigger before i chopped it again. My poor nerves were shot watching you cut them apart
Sorry! 🫣 I thought it was so cool to see what formed. I have confidence that the plants will do well and if some of the little ones don't make it then that's okay. I wasn't expecting any of this growth and it's fun to experiment!
*would have.
I'm so sad. I came to your store & is all wiped out of plants. I'm dying to get pink princess, but it was only one & sold out. 😢. I will keep checking to see if it is anymore available . I'm not fast enough to check. But I'm glad you sold out. 😅. I'm not glad for me, though. Will keep checking. Hopefully, you have more of it. ❤👌👍
So sorry! I'm going to add an option on the website for a newsletter so I can send weekly emails about plants I will have for upcoming drops. I hope to add plants to the site weekly as they are ready to go. I'm growing more pink princess but they aren't ready just yet 🙏
@plantsbymelissa
Is okay not your fault. I'm not fast enough, lol. I will check every week. I love your mint monstera ❤️👌👍
That monstera mint is stunning definitely a wish list plant for me and the babies are so cute hope they all grow well for you xx
Thank you! 🙏
Omg this makes me want to try a tissue culture! So interesting and cool! Ans omg that shoe box is genius!! Can you link it in your storefront?!
Tissue culture is a fun process and it's excited to grow them from small too. I can definitely link the box! Here you go: www.amazon.com/dp/B09NVLJL7B?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzmeli0992-20&creativeASIN=B09NVLJL7B&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1OODWALE01UEU&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d_asin
I'm trying to plant those from speeds
My new baby Thai Con has a huge root like yours
Love the chonky roots 😂🫶🏻
Sooo cute!! I css as my wait to get a mint that’s next on my wishlist. But what is the reason for leaving the moss pole empty?
They don't really need sphagnum moss inside. It's a lot to keep it moist and the aerial roots grow kinda crazy so just using it like a stake for support. I used to have some on wire poles but the aerials grew straight through it lol.
@@plantsbymelissa I agree it’s a lot of work keeping the moss poles wet but I really like the look of them. I might try the naked pole 🤭 on my albo because she is in leca and needs support for the new leaves unfurling. Seems like it would work well for leca..
how do you prevent mold growth in the small greenhouses without a fan installed?
I have it in my south window so as long as it gets a good amount of light it should be okay and not mold.
I bought the same watering can off of amazon and it leaked out of the place where the spout entered the can. I couldn’t fix it.
I got mine from Walmart. I wonder if they’re different brands. I have heard of others saying theirs leak though 🥲
❤
Just curious, where’d you get your tc/cutting of the plant from?
Jax's jungle on IG
Any idea what the turn around time on those new babies. A month, two months or more?
I’m thinking a couple months but I’ll see how they do here. If they are happy and growing before that I will look into letting them go sooner.
Your mint looks more like a white monster btw. The vein pattern and the top green leaf is a trait of white monster
I purchased as a mint TC from Jax’s jungle. I’ll have to look to see what a white monster looks like 🙏🏼
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
It cuts to commercials when youre cutting the stem😬 dont leave me in suspense!
oh no! haha oops!
Your monstera is a white monster, not a mint😆
Okay, so I recognize your comment of this before and I did some research and from what I found it’s only a monster if it came from Kunzo’s monstera. I saw where someone said in an interview he did that when you chop a mint and expose it to a good amount of light the next leaf can be full mint aka white monster. Then if you prop that again you have your full mint plant. White monster is apparently just the name he gave to it. So technically any mint can grow to be a “white monster.” My mint is exposed to a ton of light.
@plantsbymelissa I'm not quite sure about that. In my areas, we call them differently. And the white monster costs a lot more than mint when it first came out. Now, the price is quite similar. Love your videos🤩
That's one more on my wishlist for sure!!! I got a little baby wishlist plant from your shop already and it means so much more to me and precious that it came from you 🥲💓 I hope I can say the same for many more plants and supplies to come in the future 🥰 congratulations so much on the huge success of your website!! I came back to check at 1pm est and saw it was ALL sold out and I literally started clapping in joy while my dog stared at me weirdly 😂
The mints are so pretty!! I was wanting one for so long! Thank you so much for the support and for buying from me 🥹 I appreciate it so much!! I feel so grateful. I’m really excited to start packing orders later. Thank you again!! 🥰
@@plantsbymelissa I can't wait to see your baby plant and see your shop growww🥰🥰😆
I’m so sad I didn’t get any of your plants 🥹 I have been on the hunt for Hoya linearis for a long time, I was so excited when you said you were listing some. But I wasn’t fast enough this time.
I wanted the same. It's okay maybe next time we'll both be able to get one😊
aw, so sorry! I have a couple more I am posting for the next drop and then I will be propagating more here but it will take some time for those to grow.
It's okay Melissa. It's not your fault and I'm happy for you that you sold out 😁💓
@@plantsbymelissa will be watching for the next drop! Hopefully I’ll snag one, super happy your first drop did so well! 🥰
❤
