- These were some expensive mistakes. In 2015, model Manuela Arbelaez made a huge mistake on “The Price Is Right” that cost the show lots of money. In 2022, after a gas attendant accidentally dropped the price of gas at a Sacramento gas station to 69 cents a gallon, it cost him his job. In 2021, one man was out $225 million because he couldn’t remember his Bitcoin password. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

actually no he didnt. There was a jigsaw puzzle made a long time ago, it was apart of this encryption challenge, the reward was in the 5-6 digits worth of money. I cant remember the exact puzzle name. but there has also just been other things like this.

I was just re-watching that Manuela moment again the other day and even to this day, it's so freaking hilarious. They supported her so much. ❤😂 It's also crazy that was 2015 and next year it will be 10 years since it happened

Bitcoin itself does not delete your wallet after 10 tries, it's a public key cryptography based system and that's impossible. The wallet he was using contained this feature. If he wrote down his private key instead of password, he would have no problem.
Why isn't there a way to recover a password?

The government is going to get me for this, but here goes. You don't have to do surgery on the money. The bank can take the money in pieces as long as the bills match and have a serial number to it. The bank has a way to get refunded for the shredded money. (It's a little more explanation how this process works, but it's too long to type.)
In addition, the department of Treasury, has a department that can reissue new money for torn bills, along the currency is verified.

I made an expensive mistake by staying at an unfriendly hotel hostel.
In the uk I lost half for my 20 pound note and they replaced it without the other serial number

Back in 2015 my boss accidentally price the gas at $.35 a gallon it was like that for an hour people were going insane. Once an old lady told me what was going on I shut off all the gas tanks and people rioted. People were so mad at me. Apparently someone had made a post on a local Facebook group about it, and that’s how everyone knew. We didn’t make the news, thankfully.Boss didn’t get fired, of course...

If (IF) both parties know that it is an honest mistake (which comes with some variables), then the car owner would likely be at fault and may be charged with theft. (I learned this from UA-cam and we all know you can learn things from there.)
Im pretty sure the us mint will take damaged bills and return face value so long as more than 50% of the bill is there, they could make the dog throw up and carefully clean the money to try to recover as much as possible

someone did that in scotland when my brother in law was on a road trip, petrol was 50p a gallon instead of £5, he paid at the pump and right after he saw the cashier look at a screen and scramble out but he just drove off, it was legal cause it was the stations fault and it was only him that saw it, a few days later it was back to normal
It really took several days to rectify the pump price? Did he have to wait for the Parlament to decide or what...?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, the way it is encrypted ensures it is impossible for even them to unlock it. It's a decentralized currency, no one controls it.
