I Posted a link in the description to the Google Drive file with two studio different tones and two tones for live use, including the one I used in this video. I tried to optimize the other tone for a studio setting but feel free to adjust them accordingly to your rig!

Thanks for sharing. Please post those to customize so we don't have to recreate from your video to try it out.

    Hi how are you?
I'm from Argentina, I'm about to buy a POD HD500X but here all units have a single bass CAB, the FlipTop.
Why do three low CABS appear in your "demo" instead of the FlipTop?
Is it a Line6 update issue?
    Thank you!!

    • @nikolaigunther3953
      @nikolaigunther3953  6 років тому

Hello! So the POD HDs come stock with only the flip top and it cost $25 (USD) extra to get the other amps and cabs. You can purchase them from the Line6 website

@@nikolaigunther3953 Do you know if the POD HD DESKTOP supports this type of PACKS or only the HD500X?
The description on the Line6 website for which equipment this CABS pack applies is not very clear to me.
Thank you very much for your answer.

@@25330017 I do not believe that the POD HD desktop supports these packs. I think they are exclusive to the larger hardware such as the HD500x and the HD Pro. So included in the HD bass pack is a model of an Ampeg SVT classic with the normal setting, a model of the SVT in the bright setting and an impulse of the classic 8x10 SVT cab. Also included is a Gallien Krueger head and it's corresponding 4x10 cab and a few new microphone options including a model of a Shure SM7B. There is a link in the bottom of the description of this video that will show you the various heads and cabs included in this pack and how they sound by themselves

Question below: I always are searching for a good sounding MultiFX, I had much of them beginning in the end of 80th with a ME-5, and GT10B, ME50B, Zooms etc. (never used Line6 stuff). I never was satisfied and I bought them all. For a long term I use a 2 channel pedalbord, clean and dirty mixed- good sounding, yes - but sometimes a little noisy and only few variations possible. AND it weights about 8 kilogram!!! I was interested in a Helix, but is't to expensive for me at this time .... here I can hear a good dry (clean)/wet (distorded) bass sound with an HD 500X in DAW! Yes. My question: Is the 500X also good for live playing? Cuts the bass through against walls of guitars and drums???

sounds like one of those "racks of doom" I keep hearing about lol. My answer to your question: yes the HD500X is great for a live setting, considering that you can change channels easily on it because it's a pedal board is the biggest plus. In my opinion, I actually think it's better live than it is in the studio; especially if you're using a tube head or a tube power amp because the tubes color the tone and totally mask the digital feel you get from digital rigs. My bass rig consists of the HD500X and I have it sent into a Bugera BVP5500 (as a power amp) and then into my 4x10 Hartke cab. With good EQing and proper use of distortion you can easily get massive, clear tones that blend well and/or cut through the mix with ease.

Thanx! Sounds good! I ll check the 500X out. I'm with you to get a good sound in the studio is not the problem, live is the challenge. My usual rig after the StinRay and the pedals are BBE Max for clean and a Marshall JMP-1 for the dirty channel into a PA power stereo amp, the racks weights 30 kilogram, it fires 6x10 or 8x10 ... heavy but awesome ;-), may be the 500X helps to get it smaller ...

I'm German and really don't know exactly what “racks of doom“ are, but I guess what you mean and you are right ;-))

What pedals would I need to recreate this. I don't wanna take my pod for bass

All you need is compression and gain for these types of tones. The Darkglass X7 is a 2-in-1 drive and comp, so between one of those and a noise gate you're pretty much set. If you want to go dial in a tone more specifically Darkglass has several other gain pedals you could check out (B7K, Alpha Omega, and the Vintage Ultra) for compression Darkglass also has the Super Symmetry comp. Seymour Duncan Studio Bass and the Cali76 comps are also great pedals.

Louis Semilia you know what man, I'm not going to lie, I forgot I had videos on my UA-cam. But yes I'll post up some patches either today or tomorrow if I can figure it out. I think I still have this old tone here and I'll post a few newer ones. I'll do my best to also construct some that don't use any expansion packs

kitoy palaboy very possible, you could try running some effects into the front of the amp or set up a tone like the one in the video and run it into a power amp
