To add to that morale thing, as someone who has played szf for a while, it changes based on events not just kills. The most important things to note are 1: tanks drop your morale hard. It becomes really difficult to kill a tank due to this reduced damage. 2: Capturing objectives cause your morale to go up. That’s one of the reason why many maps use objectives when not needed, that morale boost is important. 3: special infected kills increase your morale more and more likely to. 4: Melee gains increased damage benefits from morale. To talk about melee for a second it is the second most powerful tool in a survivor’s arsenal. It does bonus damage in the beginning of the game until the first frenzy. And it note ally does way more damage against, of all things, tanks. This isn’t some ok neat last leg thing , this is it is better for me to run at this tank with my melee instead of my shotgun. Yeah it’s like 100% more damage. The most important tool in a survivor’s arsenal is, ironically, the ability to run away from your problems (zombies). Yeah cowardice is really powerful, except for demo because demo is god in szf Jesus Christ come at me. The medic is the funniest class in but heavily map dependent due to the maps sometimes having guaranteed Mediguns. Spy has the advantages of being annoying with dead ringer and cloak. But remember that melee damage. A single surv can beat the living shit out of a tank if they have backup. The tank becomes so weak with the battle back up it is insane. A tank can one shot a soldier. A tank must 10 hit a last stand battle back up soldier. But when a tank dies without getting a kill the zombies get frenzied, which is often stronger than a tank. A tank can do nothing, but a frenzy obliterates the entire team including whoever gets the last stand. That is the end of my rant. (Edit) some things to add is that zoldier is the opposite of Dezo in that instead of hard offense, it is focused on hard defense instead. The increased health is one thing but there is another thing that is really important to zoldier. When zoldier is assisting the horde, if on one survivor, the entire horde becomes stronger. The reason is due to the mobility of zoldier, the hit box of zoldier, and the increased health of zoldier. For example, if a scout tried to fire into a 3 strong horde, most of the horde will be hurt pretty badly. When a soldier is there, only the soldier gets hurt leaving the rest mostly untouched. The zoldier is also the strongest manual pressure (other than gas) that the Zombies have in abundance. To put it simply, a soldier can distract a heavy, demo, engine, whatever incredibly effectively than the others because if your don’t finish a zoldier, their power level soars to being able to move as fast as a scout while doing above average damage.

I suppose I should mention that the eureka effects wrench gives passive metal to engineers at the cost of getting less from ammo pack. It's use is niche but is useful when you get those rare maps that have very little ammo. Also the candy cane is updated that it gives 20% damage vulnerability to the scout. Man treads now is really good since you can run fast and not fall behind as much.
I’ve never seen this mode it’s so cool that they actually translated the special infected view models and character models but making them look like mercenaries and seeing the TF2 version of dead center was awesome

We decided to keep it a secret but don't be fooled it is a real incident, if you see spaceguy with a knife which has a white liquid, run he has arrived for you

I remember playing OG ZF back in 2010! Seeing asylum awakened old memories. Old ZF was just normal tf2 but with class restrictions - zombies were scout, heavy and spy and that was it, no special infected. Survivors couldn't be those classes but they were able to take various perks. For example, I remember one of them being called stir crazy, which would give you damage bonuses while strafing

You forgot to mention about the jokey passive ability. He has 100% (or I believe 200%) air control. Meaning when you jump, if you strafe you actually move SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER. You’ll be surprised how fast you can go so even scouts can not run away from you :).
nice video. SZF is such an underrated gamemode. Also, recent update made: - Eureka Effect regen metal - Holiday Punch can do its stun from punching the back as well as a triple punch a la Gunslinger style
One notable thing about this gamemode, as far as I can tell from the footage, is how it’s like Zombie Escape (ZE) with L4D Special Infected (S.I) in the mix. And since *said* S.Is are made with specific purposes for a 4v4 gamemode, not for ZE and its generally huge player pool, it’s unsurprising that Jockeys and Charger, 2 of L4D’s pick classes, suck in a huge player environment.
The only reason why Jockey sucks so much is because the person you're riding can actively attack back, you could theoretically do a lot more if that wasn't the case especially with killing stragglers Charger sucks for a lot of reasons, his health pool is nowhere near L4d's just being Demo's standard, his charge doesn't do any damage at all and just tickles nor is there any follow up damage upon hitting a wall and then you obviously have the fact the person you hit can fight back as well. He would be better off just being a demoknight, getting a crit after the charge nears it end and dealing massive damage to one person rather than the curling broom thing he's got now
another hidden fact: morale is now affected by infliction (human to zombie ratio) meaning that the more zombies there are, the more damage humans deal and less they take (and vice versa), which *seems(?)* to stack with the old (now hidden for some reason) morale system that changed with kills and deaths dynamically
Here are some fun tips that you didn't mention for anybody wanting to play this mode after this video: 1) Jockey is secretly the ultimate counter to scout, even if you don't move them while grabbing on, you can still make them easy Tank and swarm bait. 2) Charger is good as a distraction, although not the best, he can bait somebody into looking at him falling so that his team mates can avenge his failed kamikaze strategy, also you can completely screw with scouts by cornering them which is still as hard as it is to one shot them. 3) Infected Spy is actually kinda good for picking off survivors, punishing the team for abandoning them by adding them to their side, so target those who will fall behind. 4) Infected Soldier is better when you need an all around class, he is not too slow, can move faster to get a free hit, and is more effective on maps where you can strategically take damage for a slight speed boost when tailing the survivors. 5) If you are playing spitter or smoker, it might be worth it to rush in if you know the survivors are holding on by a thread to help swarm and contain them. 6) You can attack while on top of someone with both the hunter and Jockey, also similar tip is that screamer can still attack and is far from weak, meaning if you swarming with your team, remember that you can get physically involved. 7) DONT FORGET THAT MOST SERVERS PROVIDE !rtv TO CHANGE MAPS! 8) Let the Solider whip you, even if you have to back peddal, it has the potential to save both of you while going faster, versus going slower and leaving the guy who trusted you to be beaten alive by a swarm of rabid drunks. 9) Bionics Lab is the best map I've played so far, fair both sides and forces everyone on both ends to work together to win.

I started playing this gamemode after I saw the video and I got some weird and funny moments here are they : 1. I dominated 10 people with soldier, it was a weird match, I got last survivor buff when my last teammate was alive so probably it was bugged and somehow I managed to gain health on hit on the tank with the conch and what rocket launcher I was using ? The « 🇺🇸🗽🦅 » 2. How to make the entire zombie team fear you ( a server with a lot of people in ) : Step 1 : use the batalions backup, Step 2 : no rocket launcher spawns in Step 3 : you melee 2 tank Step 4 : die to common infected Side not : if you are playing on a server with a few people in just use the bataillon. 3.It was an Alysium match, I was the jocky, I grab the medic, they didn’t come to save him, I was going to the cliff, he die att the moment he fall, I wasted the jocky ( My lawyer told me to not swear online ) So these was some high moment when I played this game mode and I’m still playing it, and here’s a tier list based on the fun you get by playing some class : C Tier : - Engineer : not fun to play, I feel like I’m in walking dead stupidity but the zombies are from l4d or the last of us. - Sniper : Skill issue - Spy : Skill issue and I’m not destroying the horde I’m just being a coward and miss a all my backstab Now the B tier : - Medic, high moments only if you are the last survivor with the blood succer or have a medigun - Scout : run shoot, run shoot, run and die because of skill issue - Heavy : Not a bad class but, just the overused joke but stronger. And Now the A/S tier : - Demoman a.k.a Demoknitgh : just watch Solar tf2. - Pyro : doing combo’s than just being brainless - Solder : I melee 2 tank and survived I don’t even need a rocket launcher I just need the batallion and that’s it they f fear me. So why are you still reading the comments go play it !
Here's a thing to consider If there's a gun for a slot that is empty you should still pick it up so you at least have something in that slot. No matter what it is.
Just a bit of extra historical context for people new to the zombie gamemodes: this is *Super* Zombie Fortress. Zombie Fortress is much different, and is much more primitive, than Super Zombie Fortress. In ZF, only Scout, Spy, and Heavy can be zombies. ZF also lacks a lot of the L4D inspired abilities, such as weapon pickups.
About Medic, many of the most popular maps have Medigun spawns hard-set in certain areas, so with some map knowledge Medic can become the absolutely best option to pick
I’m a regular on the Blackwonder SZF Server, I’ve spotted you playing a few times. Glad to finally see the finished product. I usually play Sniper myself, I find it as good aim practice. I personally like picking up the Huntsman, it’s a pretty fun weapon though it does demand a pretty reliable team when the going gets tough.
SGO: "The Gas Passer is good in this gamemode." Me: "Ok, I can see that. Guaranteed afterburn is pretty useful when the enemy is more likely to be grou-" SGO: "It's the MvM Gas Passer." Me: "Oh. Oh that... that sounds cruel... So, uh, what servers host this gamemode?"
I gotta say that there's a massive glaring problem with all of these zombie-based game modes: On one hand, playing on the human team is an extremely fun and refreshing way to play Team Fortress 2. Playing as a zombie one the other hand, is almost always a miserable experience. 90% of the time it just feels like banging your head against a wall for 5 to 10 minutes. There is some slight counter-strategy that can be used, but as a zombie you are designed to be fodder, and will spend most of the round either getting flung back from knockback, or looking at a respawn countdown timer.
I used to play on a server all the time with a less polished version of this in like 2012. You could take perks with toxic being a strong zombie one and vindictive being my favourite because you got attack and defence for every human you killed
Something to note with the videos age is that charger is better now, he now scares people when he hits them in his charge and it lasts a little after the charge aswell. Still not great but it would take him into B tier maybe below smoker since now he can atleast prevent a large group of people from firing for like 3 seconds which can give him time to finish his charge which may actually result in someones death.
15:16 Small observation, though: Melee damage in this game is treated as bullet damage. For instance, bullet resistance on MVM helps with melee enemies.
32:38 I'd honestly take the back burner for one very niche use: flame particles are fricked. If you run, aim down, and fire, you can grt crits even when you're in front of your target. Source Spaghetti at its finest, though you probably should replace it anyway.
The reason why the cloack and dagger its not in the gamemode its because it will be broken when spy its the last survivor and times out the zombies Cuz he just be permanently invisible Especially in large maps

In the Spy section since it's literally just a slightly better Spy, it's fully explained in a single sentence after I describe Spy which was "Permanently invisible unless close to humans and moves slightly faster"
@@starmaker75 In this case, it doesn't really help that Scout seems to have increased health for no apparent reason and a Fan O'War/Wrap Assassin boosted to ridiculous extremes. Like seriously, why does Scout need two insane buffs and increased health like this when he's already fast, in a game mode filled with melee Zombies? Especially considering the arguably undeserved nerfs that Heavy and Engineer got.
That transition from the Engie laugh to the realisation is so smooth.

Its TF2 Left For Dead 2 and LFD2 is very fun I say 2nd or 3rd best horde shooter behind Payday 2 and maybe OG Doom

You forgot to mention about the jokey passive ability. He has 100% (or I believe 200%) air control. Meaning when you jump, if you strafe you actually move SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER. You’ll be surprised how fast you can go so even scouts can not run away from you :).

nice video. SZF is such an underrated gamemode.
Also, recent update made:
- Eureka Effect regen metal
- Holiday Punch can do its stun from punching the back as well as a triple punch a la Gunslinger style
One notable thing about this gamemode, as far as I can tell from the footage, is how it’s like Zombie Escape (ZE) with L4D Special Infected (S.I) in the mix.
And since *said* S.Is are made with specific purposes for a 4v4 gamemode, not for ZE and its generally huge player pool, it’s unsurprising that Jockeys and Charger, 2 of L4D’s pick classes, suck in a huge player environment.
The only reason why Jockey sucks so much is because the person you're riding can actively attack back, you could theoretically do a lot more if that wasn't the case especially with killing stragglers
Charger sucks for a lot of reasons, his health pool is nowhere near L4d's just being Demo's standard, his charge doesn't do any damage at all and just tickles nor is there any follow up damage upon hitting a wall and then you obviously have the fact the person you hit can fight back as well. He would be better off just being a demoknight, getting a crit after the charge nears it end and dealing massive damage to one person rather than the curling broom thing he's got now

another hidden fact: morale is now affected by infliction (human to zombie ratio) meaning that the more zombies there are, the more damage humans deal and less they take (and vice versa), which *seems(?)* to stack with the old (now hidden for some reason) morale system that changed with kills and deaths dynamically
Here are some fun tips that you didn't mention for anybody wanting to play this mode after this video:
1) Jockey is secretly the ultimate counter to scout, even if you don't move them while grabbing on, you can still make them easy Tank and swarm bait.
2) Charger is good as a distraction, although not the best, he can bait somebody into looking at him falling so that his team mates can avenge his failed kamikaze strategy, also you can completely screw with scouts by cornering them which is still as hard as it is to one shot them.
3) Infected Spy is actually kinda good for picking off survivors, punishing the team for abandoning them by adding them to their side, so target those who will fall behind.
4) Infected Soldier is better when you need an all around class, he is not too slow, can move faster to get a free hit, and is more effective on maps where you can strategically take damage for a slight speed boost when tailing the survivors.
5) If you are playing spitter or smoker, it might be worth it to rush in if you know the survivors are holding on by a thread to help swarm and contain them.
6) You can attack while on top of someone with both the hunter and Jockey, also similar tip is that screamer can still attack and is far from weak, meaning if you swarming with your team, remember that you can get physically involved.
7) DONT FORGET THAT MOST SERVERS PROVIDE !rtv TO CHANGE MAPS!
8) Let the Solider whip you, even if you have to back peddal, it has the potential to save both of you while going faster, versus going slower and leaving the guy who trusted you to be beaten alive by a swarm of rabid drunks.
9) Bionics Lab is the best map I've played so far, fair both sides and forces everyone on both ends to work together to win.

I like how it somewhat follows a story (can’t remember if it was just that server or if it was specifically some of the maps that had an overarching story)
I started playing this gamemode after I saw the video and I got some weird and funny moments here are they :
1. I dominated 10 people with soldier, it was a weird match, I got last survivor buff when my last teammate was alive so probably it was bugged and somehow I managed to gain health on hit on the tank with the conch and what rocket launcher I was using ? The « 🇺🇸🗽🦅 »
2. How to make the entire zombie team fear you ( a server with a lot of people in ) :
Step 1 : use the batalions backup,
Step 2 : no rocket launcher spawns in
Step 3 : you melee 2 tank
Step 4 : die to common infected
Side not : if you are playing on a server with a few people in just use the bataillon.
3.It was an Alysium match, I was the jocky, I grab the medic, they didn’t come to save him, I was going to the cliff, he die att the moment he fall, I wasted the jocky ( My lawyer told me to not swear online )
So these was some high moment when I played this game mode and I’m still playing it, and here’s a tier list based on the fun you get by playing some class :
C Tier :
- Engineer : not fun to play, I feel like I’m in walking dead stupidity but the zombies are from l4d or the last of us.
- Sniper : Skill issue
- Spy : Skill issue and I’m not destroying the horde I’m just being a coward and miss a all my backstab
Now the B tier :
- Medic, high moments only if you are the last survivor with the blood succer or have a medigun
- Scout : run shoot, run shoot, run and die because of skill issue
- Heavy : Not a bad class but, just the overused joke but stronger.
And Now the A/S tier :
- Demoman a.k.a Demoknitgh : just watch Solar tf2.
- Pyro : doing combo’s than just being brainless
- Solder : I melee 2 tank and survived I don’t even need a rocket launcher I just need the batallion and that’s it they f fear me.
So why are you still reading the comments go play it !

Just a bit of extra historical context for people new to the zombie gamemodes: this is *Super* Zombie Fortress. Zombie Fortress is much different, and is much more primitive, than Super Zombie Fortress. In ZF, only Scout, Spy, and Heavy can be zombies. ZF also lacks a lot of the L4D inspired abilities, such as weapon pickups.

About Medic, many of the most popular maps have Medigun spawns hard-set in certain areas, so with some map knowledge Medic can become the absolutely best option to pick

I usually play Sniper myself, I find it as good aim practice. I personally like picking up the Huntsman, it’s a pretty fun weapon though it does demand a pretty reliable team when the going gets tough.

I gotta say that there's a massive glaring problem with all of these zombie-based game modes:
On one hand, playing on the human team is an extremely fun and refreshing way to play Team Fortress 2.
Playing as a zombie one the other hand, is almost always a miserable experience. 90% of the time it just feels like banging your head against a wall for 5 to 10 minutes. There is some slight counter-strategy that can be used, but as a zombie you are designed to be fodder, and will spend most of the round either getting flung back from knockback, or looking at a respawn countdown timer.
My favorite part was when pyro said “mmph mmhmph mmph” and pyroed all over the place
This version of Zombie Fortress helped me make my best TF2 friend, so this game has always been my favorite

I used to play on a server all the time with a less polished version of this in like 2012. You could take perks with toxic being a strong zombie one and vindictive being my favourite because you got attack and defence for every human you killed

The alliteration, rhyming, similes and metaphors, reminds me of CK/VIC youtuber AlzboHD and I LOVE IT
Something to note with the videos age is that charger is better now, he now scares people when he hits them in his charge and it lasts a little after the charge aswell. Still not great but it would take him into B tier maybe below smoker since now he can atleast prevent a large group of people from firing for like 3 seconds which can give him time to finish his charge which may actually result in someones death.
15:16 Small observation, though: Melee damage in this game is treated as bullet damage.
For instance, bullet resistance on MVM helps with melee enemies.

32:38 I'd honestly take the back burner for one very niche use: flame particles are fricked. If you run, aim down, and fire, you can grt crits even when you're in front of your target. Source Spaghetti at its finest, though you probably should replace it anyway.

In the Spy section since it's literally just a slightly better Spy, it's fully explained in a single sentence after I describe Spy which was "Permanently invisible unless close to humans and moves slightly faster"

@@starmaker75 In this case, it doesn't really help that Scout seems to have increased health for no apparent reason and a Fan O'War/Wrap Assassin boosted to ridiculous extremes. Like seriously, why does Scout need two insane buffs and increased health like this when he's already fast, in a game mode filled with melee Zombies? Especially considering the arguably undeserved nerfs that Heavy and Engineer got.
