Good morning Randy, greetings from Spain, V.A.G group vehicles like the Passat when they run out of battery, when you connect it, the traction control, TPMS, steering and ABS always turn on, you need to give it a spin over 20 kmph and they turn off, and sometimes You have to calibrate the steering angle sensor so that the steering works again, greetings, I love your videos
The fun of integrated systems. They don't like to lose power for sure. 😮

I live in Texas and bought an old GMC Sierra from a guy that'd moved down here from California dirt cheap because he'd said the a/c died. After I bought it, noticed the a/c did work, it just blew out on the windshield and on your feet. I removed an actuator from under the steering wheel area and it blew perfect and perfectly cold through the vents. That was an amazing truck. 5.3 Z71.

If you put a new batery in the passat and clear the codes on the dash afterwords, it will be just fine! It has the same electronic gremlins as a Mercedes because of the depleted batery! Just buy it!

Hi, fantastic videos. The warning lights on the Passat are probably due to it it having a flat battery for so long. A code reader reset might work. Looking forward to the next video.

I love this mini-series on cheap affordable cars. The Passat could be a goer they are usually good cars if taken care of. Its a shame so many have been left standing for long periods which does not do them any good .

Good morning Randy. The 2007 Volkswagen Passat is a good looking car. The 2002 Mitsubishi Mariano is a good looking SUV.
I love my dart 274k and took care of it and didn’t beat the hell out of it, people got these and trashed them and that’s why they are hated
17:11 my bud had one, defo the sound of it being out of gas and or, the lines being clogged
I am thinking it's fuel pump intake sock is blocked and it's fuel filter also is clogged. Doesn't help is low on oil too.
Had a 2006 Audi A3 with the same engine and transmission as that Passat. Had nearly the same symptoms and the dealer diagnosed it as a bad ABS module. Replaced it with a good used part twice, problem never went away so sold it to carmax for an OK price

Far too many people are used to doing it the middle class way ie by going deep into debt only to trade it in not long after paying off said vehicle just to do it all over again which is complete madness. Anyway I gotten a pretty good deal on a salvaged Prius that has been a daily driver and average around 55 to 60 a gallon.

That Escalade has something funky going on with the ignition. That is definitely not the right key lol.
The Passat dashboard lights will stay lit until you drive it about 10 feet. Yes it has electric power steering and parking brake.,
My Nissan Altima also has electrical power steering.
I just brought 10 tahoe loaded 20k refurbished like new ..

I know one who buy one of them in this year who paid about 25k for imported Escalade from Japan with 120k km milage and 6.0 ESV

Easy fix on the Escalade you can find the same black color on the fender and the bumper cover at like a salvage yard.

Mitsubishi Pajero terrain vehicles are BAD ASS! Get it.
The EPC light is Electronic Power Control fault, which is a fault for the drive-by-wire system... I've heard it called a "super" CEL because basically anything that could cause the ECU to believe there's something wrong with the pedal, ECU, throttle body, etc. I've read something simple as bad spark plugs since the ECU tries to compensate and then adjusts the throttle body to a position that's out of spec for whatever RPM it's at all the way up to a bad ECU. It's a gamble 🤷

That SPS Audio isn't a Delco, nor is it factory. It's an aftermarket unit made by Audiovox to look like a factory radio. The Astro probably had an AM/FM only radio. Either it was a dealer installed option, or one of the early owners wanted a cassette, but keep the factory look for cheaper than the $500 they used to cost.
i think epc is linked with some sensor on the catalytic converter or something like that

The VW's will have warning lights on. When you have a battery that's been running down then the lights come on. You can cancel the lights and everything will be fine

Randy the VW engine that you want is the 2.5 naturally aspirated that you can find for example in the VW Jetta. That 2.5 170 hp 5 cylinders is bulletproof. Not like that piece of crap 2.0 turbo.

Ok so when you use a credit card do you consider it your money or someone else’s? Because if you don’t pay the bill at the end of the month, they’re coming for you. It’s still your money owed. In fact, arguably, he’s gambling more with finance rates between 7-10% Apr right now on floor plan versus laying out cash from an account. Either way it’s a risk and his own money.

Point of contention re: Doing your own repairs, etc. not everyone has access to the equipment you have, 4 post hoist, scan tools, a healthy UA-cam income, and expertise from friends within the same industry (Samcrac, monkey wrench Mike , Santa’s workshop, etc).
While there is bargains to be had, as stated in your video - they’re bargains for a reason, and not everyone has expertise with the computerisation of the modern internal Combustion engine.
Please don’t take this as being critical of you or your work, I love your channel- just some of your projects are beyond the scope of the average person.

@autoauctionrebuilds 20:15 Wow I’ve never actually seen this factory stereo on any GM vehicle before. There were some odd ball factory stereos like a similar year Pontiac Sunbird & a older Camaro Berlinetta with that weird swivel stereo.
