Have you went over a concret flooring? Also a floor video that includes how to prep the container floor from arrival to insulation & sub flooring, and the top layer flooring all together would be nice.

good job man !!! One tip, the underlayent should be installed perpendicular to the direction of the floor you are installing to avoid spacing with the change in temperature.

I put this flooring in my 480 sq ft tiny home build (may have been the exact same color). It was an easy install and it should hold up to years of use.

Hi! Absolutely love you channel.I am getting 40ft HC DD container in 2 weeks. Question? Would you ever put a cement underpayment on top of the wood flooring and then epoxy the floor? I know there are chances it would crack if I moved the container around but I plan to keep in one spot. I think it would be beautiful.

What did you use for the subfloor and did you have any insulation underneath?

love your content!! Do you have any tips on how to level out the original container floor, before installing the insulation and vinyl? I can imagine that the floor of a used container is not always flat.

Just curious, have you ever had any moisture issues with the way you installed this flooring? We're worried about rotting the container subfloor. Thanks!

So the underpayment is placed on top of the original marine plywood?

did you replace the flooring that came with the container first? I originally heard it's toxic but just saw another video that said that's a myth and not the case. Just wondering if I can put my underlay then vinyl plank flooring directly on top of the existing floor? It's a relative new container (prob just a one-tripper). Thanks!

I see a lot of videos about flooring, but very few good videos about removing the stock floors to insulate, plumb, insulate etc. Must of these guys end up cutting out the bolts with hole saws etc... What's your take on dealing with this problem? You're the pro

Great job keeps up the good work.
Looking forward to the finished container. I am considering building a double story seaside vacation home using container in Indonesia with a minimal budget and need to make it structurally sound.
Any ideas on how much building one container going to cost? including the flooring and cladding and wall in your area (just need a rough estimation)

Hey! So first of all thank you for your interest! As for pricing, it can vary greatly, but with all materials and no labor you can build a nicely finished container for around 20,000-25,000 USD. If you need to pay for labor it can grow from there. We are going to build a second container that will be nicely equipped and this time with a new container that will be sold for 50,000 completely finished. This one is already sold unfortunately. Hope this helps!

Why would you lay the floor down before any walls or cabinets are in? If you have to replace the flooring wouldn’t they be a pain to get back out versus laying it around walls and cabinets? Also waiting until after painting?

Really love these videos but the talking and music volumes are way off. I find I have to turn up to hear you, especially on this one, only to have to quickly crank down the volume when the music, while enjoyable, is way to loud in comparison. Please try to adjust in future videos. Thank you so much!!!

When I build a container house wall frame, I wonder where the bottom nails the floor but where the top nails? Because I worry that I will get out when I nail it.

    • @ContainingLuxury

Hey! When the seams are staggered it helps hold the floor together. This applies to any type of flooring material installation.

Why are you putting down flooring before your plaster board walls have been completed?

    • @ContainingLuxury
      @ContainingLuxury  4 роки тому +1

Wain Banfield it just was faster for us on such a small build rather than cutting around all the walls, if we were not using vinyl we would not have likely done this since it is easily removed if we ever need to just with a utility knife cutting around the walls

metal studding terrible idea. The threaded metal stud screws will pop through the metal studs over time. Timber 2x4's is the way to go, more bite, more stability !
