Love Love!! Super excited to try Jolie Paints on my next project. (It will be my second project ever haha!!) I love your videos and recommend them to everyone I talk to about furniture painting! Can’t wait until your next video!
I primarily work with large pieces of wood (slabs) for tables and mantels. Most of my experience has been using Danish oils to get the color of the wood as I want and have used General Finish products since I first started. However, just started doing some pieces with natural wood tops and painted bottoms. I learned many years ago when I first started old wood golf clubs as a hobby that finish is the most important element. And, to get the right finish when you are not spraying, the brush(s) can make all the difference. For new people, don't buy junk brushes. Spend a little more and buy good ones and take care of them. If you do they will last through many projects. Enjoyed the piano process. I'm new to chalk, but getting to learn the nuances (with your help). Just mixed my own Jolie color using two quarts of slate and blue to get the blue I wanted.
I've been watching your videos for a few months and I love so many of your projects. Now I'm moving from a home where most of the furniture is black to a home where it's so light and airy that black won't do, and I plan to paint SO MUCH of my furniture. However, there's this pandemic going on and the stores have no chalk paint or even basic supplies. Thanks for the demonstrating the beauty that Jolie paints and wax are capable of!
That is so wild that the color goes on navy blue, but dries down to such a beautiful, inky black. Every time I watch one of your videos I start looking around my house for things to paint!

Thanks to your instructive videos, Christina, I JUST finished painting my late parent's massive king sized bed in Jolie Graphite! It was my first piece of furniture to paint, but not my last. In fact, I've already painted an etagere in Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue (again, thanks to your recommendation in a video), but I still need to wax it with dark wax. I am loving how paint can transform an older "outdated" piece of furniture into something new and fresh, giving it a second life. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us. You're a blessing!

You have inspired me to try out the wonderful world of chalk painting furniture. I am working on my first piece. I got it on FB marketplace and unfortunately the people I got it from smoked up a storm, and the nightstand smells like cigarette smoke. I tried everything to get rid of the smell without success, so eventually I decided to sand it down 100%. It took 6 hours this past weekend. In the garage and the heat index was 103 🥴. But I am ready to shellac it this weekend and then chalk the weekend after. I’m so excited!
I hate to admit it but I was a little bit sceptical when I saw the headline about a piano. So many people here are giving away pianos for free. But your transformation on this piano is amazing. You can tell how much this family loves your work. Very beautiful!
