    Very helpful. I came across some used chopsticks that turn out to be ivory. They're quite yellowed and I can see some striations from the ivory growth. I want to brighten them up. There are some unfortunate stains from a rubber band that held them together.

    Thanks for the info. Just wondering if my 110yr old Bechstein is not going to look fake with such clean ivories. Now it's looking like it comes out of a smokey jazz club, and I think it looks authentic with the yellowed keys. I will probably succumb to the pearly white treatment in time. Great video.

      @StanislavStanchev  4 роки тому

      Thanks Ken! :) Well yeah it looks also nice with some yellowish smoked keys :) My Bechstein is a little bit yellow as well and I won't make them white for the moment. My upright with which I made the video was so yellow and nasty even. The previous owner made the mistake to clean the keys with some chemicals and sadly they are in a very bad shape from that.. anyway :D

    Hi There, I noticed, that your Hyprogen porixide is 3%, I am wondering, I have Hydrogen porixide Which is 12%, I presuming it is the Poroxide that's making the keys loose the yellow, do you have anythoughts, if I was to do it on my piano, same condition as yours previously, if more concentration of porixide will result better, or damage the key... Please give me your thoughts

    There is a better and more effective way. Use Brasso instead using a dry cloth. It not only cleans the keys but brightens them and makes them shine. They also feel nicer to the touch, no need to take them out and leave them in the sun. Just leave them inside the piano and open the lid each morning for a couple of hours and they will be as white as an American newsreader's teeth. I have used this method on my Broadwood square piano and they look immaculate.

Your lack of intelligence when claiming that elephants are closest to dinosaurs we have, just proves that you lack a lot of knowledge. Crocs are the closest relative to dinos. By the way the black keys where usually made of ebony wood, that is illegal to use as well as Ivory. I own a ebony clarinet from the early seventhies, should I just burn it in the owen too??
