@@nyx4081 Not O.P, but according to an article, she got covid then it developed into pneumonia and she died from that. It was November 2023 that she passed.

I saw Vianney passed away back in November 2023 - there’s an obituary online for her. I just watched their Where Are They Now episode and it was sad to see her just give up the skinnier he got.

Anger is a great motivator. My husband and I were opiate addicts for years. From your channel I’ve learned that overeating is a similar addiction. My husband got clean. I didn’t want to. My husband never held it over me but I just couldn’t stand that he’d managed to do something that I couldn’t. I was pissed and I quit out of pure anger. To this day (12 years later) I’m still amazed at how irritated I became and how that fueled me to do the hardest thing in my life.
I know someone who was addicted to pain pills that her boyfriend was prescribed, don't really know how he got them tbh. He would hold it over her head though and make her do things she didn't want to just for a pill. Eventually, she got tired of it, didn't want to be demeaned anymore and got clean cold turkey because her headspace was just... not great and didn't want to continue living like that. I agree, anger is a great motivator! She's doing so much better now and is in a healthy relationship!
All addictions are similar...that's why they're called "addictions" lol 😂
Congratulations! From one recovering opiate addict to another. I have 34 months and counsel other addicts now. However you got there, I’m glad you got there and are still here to share your story!
Dude I hate opiates. They feel so amazing. I’m in recovery but I’m still on methadone.
@@christiangasior4244 I went the suboxone route and it helped me so much. I’m still on it and no plans to taper off right now and luckily my doctor supports my plan and checks in with me pretty regularly to get a read on how I feel because she knows in the long term I’d like to eventually get off that too. But right now I treat it like medication I need to treat a disease I have and the doctor said that’s exactly right. I have to say, I couldn’t quit on my own at all until I was really ready. That’s one thing that’s different for all addicts I think- the thing that finally makes them want to quit using. I just think a difficult time in one’s life is always made easier by the willingness or “wantingness” to go through it.
I obviously don’t know what’s happened behind closed doors but Allen seemed totally devoted and adoring towards Vianey. He really doesn’t come across as the cheating kind. Can’t imagine the frustration of being with such an insecure partner who constantly doubts your devotion.

I’ve had two friends get bariatric surgery and both got divorced, one became an alcoholic and slept around like it was her exercise routine, and the other is a motivational speaker.
The one that is an alcoholic had an amazing husband, the other didn’t.
Codependency ruined both their relationships because when that’s gone, it’s like you lose the foundation to your relationship.
I too had a problem with alcohol after my surgery

I’ve never done hard drugs because I know the second I did, I would be fully addicted.
That's so interesting 🤔 I have a friend who got divorced after losing her weight too! It makes me wonder if the spouse got jealous/nervous that she was getting confident & making herself healthier.

I don’t understand people who leave their spouse after bariatric surgery. (Not about them, just umbrella statement). I was 400lbs with my current husband. I was 280 when we met. Lost 60lbs while with him at first. Had our first son. I ended up getting to 400lbs. Then I had bariatric surgery. I got down to 196lbs. We are now expecting our first daughter- second baby. And he has been my biggest cheerleader. He is definitely my person.
Judge is right, she is insecure with herself and it's no secret that she is jealous. She is jealous that he got the weight loss surgery before her, that he lost a significant amount of weight before her, and angry that he is living the life that she wants. That is why she wants a divorce, she doesn't want to be reminded of her "failure".
In reality, she didn't fail, her heart stopped during surgery and the Doctor pulled the plug (no pun intended) on the surgery. She woke up and was completely devastated. From what is sounds like this woman is not above sabotaging this dude in his weight loss journey, but I think Allen has grown a lot of confidence and security within himself to know better, plus his stomach wont let him eat over X amount at a time.
She could have used her health issues along with the success of her husbands weight loss as motivation BUT NO!!!

I had a similar situation. My husband was obese and I was overweight. He asked me to assist him in weight loss. I lost significant weight and he gave up early in the journey. He became possessive and jealous and eventually abusive. So we ended up divorced.
Bummer. But as long as you're safe & healthy now - good!

He had his accident and made him a little slow again not bashing I just see he is a little different and hope that she not using him but who knows

She reminds me so much of my mother. If my dad loses weight she is so resentful and jealous and is constantly making comments about his diet, but then blames him for her not losing weight because he encouraged her to get a knee replacement that had some slight complications and she gained 20 pounds.

So a little over a year ago when I started watching your videos besides being very overweight, my blood pressure was horrible and so was my cholesterol.
I got it checked last week and my doctor said both are perfect and I have had one of the biggest and quickest turn around a she has seen.
My kids were making fun of me that I am so old now I am bragging about my blood pressure.
Which is fair.
Remind them that they will be your age one day, smile and walk away. My mom said that once and now I understand 😂

The weight set-point. I had WLS in 2009 and even with it, I will never hit a BMI below 25, despite being able to see my ribs, hip bones, etc. My surgeon said to ignore those charts and just focus on my labs, fitness level, etc.

In reference to the makeup question it's a combination of issues. The judge has a darker complexion and it's rare for a makeup company to have a wide enough range for really light fair and mainly darker skin tones. Plus to find matching colors across the board for the different products is a whole different problem. Then to add the stage lights and the cameras on top of the makeup issues it messes with how the makeup looks even more. Makeup companies need to do better on making either products that can be customized easier and have a wider range of colors available. There's warm and cool undertones and the in betweens not just 1 or 2 base colors. Just like with very light skin there's pink, blue, yellow, and greenish tan undertones. I'm very light skinned and can never find the right color. It's either way to light or to dark. I either look like Casper the ghost or like I'm trying out to be an oompa loompa or something. It's either to white or mixed with my skin tone it turns a weird tanish orange color. I used to do sfx/acting/stage makeup and learned alot from that. You shouldn't have to resort to stage makeup to be able to find products to make a matching color for your skin tone. Sadly that is the reality for some people. Sorry for my rant but your question is about something that has been popping up lately for me.
I'm a light olive skin and I gave up on foundation a long time ago lol. Even though I have acne scars (they're rather small) and large pores, I moisturize and wear sunscreen, so I actually like how my natural skin looks. It would be nice to have a good foundation though, for when I'm feeling a bit self-conscious or for special occasions.

At least 18 patients from _My 600-lb Life_ have died. Their weight loss surgeries added _some_ time to their lifespans, but not enough.
I was the trophy wife after my ex had lost 100 lbs w his lap band. He got it in Mexico and never ever sought help for his trauma. So he over ate all the time and just puked it up. It got so bad I refused to clean his bathroom because of the re-gurge splashed everywhere on the walls and floors. Shits a trip and I just hope everyone thick or thin knows they're worth taking the time to seek counseling, if you're struggling w trauma and ptsd

A little background on the judge. Her name is Star Jones and she used to be around 300 pounds. She had WLS. She didn’t tell anyone until it was done. She did this publicly. She was successful and able to keep it off.

I was in a relationship that lasted 3 1/2 years. We met in a law graduate program resulting in a Mater's of Law at NYU. I went on to get employed at law firms and he pretended to have a practice ( with very few clients) and was hopeful that I would bail him out financially. I refused. I moved out of state to get away from him.There are times when you have to recognize that your partner is not motivated and actually resents you for whatever you achieve by hard work. It is best to move on.
I think Allen is a bit slow. He clearly loves her as a person. The only thing she likes about him is what he can offer her, and Allen is oblivious to this fact.
I got put on Ozempic. I was 190 pounds and I am now down to 168. My doctor told me that people that are over 200 pounds, it will not work for them. It only helps you lose 15 to 20% of your bodyweight. He said that people that are big need bariatric surgery.
That’s not true! I know people who are over 200 pounds who take Ozempic and are successful!

I was once over 600. Ozempic saved my life.
The real issue is she gave up and resents that he won’t give up too. So every time she wants to feed her addiction and he won’t do it with her, she resents him even more. This is why someone in recovery won’t be able to stay with an addict in full addiction.
Their entire relative relationship was built on their obesity and food consumption. Getting rid of that component just revealed that they were going to eventually drift apart.

I was almost 300 lbs, lost it to now 150 lbs... I had to forever change my behavior of food for fuel, not for pleasure.... I don't call it a DIET. IT'S TOOOO.... TEMPORARY!!!! I HAD USED FOOD FOR MY EMOTIONAL EATING....
Loosing a huge amount of weight could absolutely break a marriage. The person who loses the weight has completely changed their lifestyle. They’re a different person.

For me this was one of the most memorable couples on the show. At the start of the episode she talked about her husband's situation as though she didn't even have a significant weight problem of her own. It felt like she was using him to soften the severity of her own situation. Then, she was so butt hurt when they went for a walk and she couldn't keep up with him, and when he dropped below her weight for the first time in the relationship. I remember disliking her because she couldn't be supportive of (or motivated by) his success, which was a shame because he seemed like a sweet guy - and still does.
This is not marriage counseling, this is divorce court. That judge needs to keep her opinions to herself and adjudicate the divorce. Determine who gets what split, and let them go their separate ways.

Someone once told me, that weight loss eventually hits a place where you feel so good, that your desire to eat equals your desire to lose weight...make good choices.

I haven't seen Star Jones in decades. Sean, she was a famous daytime television commentor. When she had her bariatric weight loss surgery, she denied it at first when people saw how much weight she lost. It took her a long time to admit it. Anyway, I do NOT like Miss Rodriguez. Go back to the early part of the interview. She wants Allen to gain all the weight back. Misery loves company. I don't respect people who want someone else to be unhealthy, so they have feel better about themselves.

Being insecure is so hard to get over, because I never have and I am 60. Being in shape helps, but not enough for me. Sean got me to thinking about it when he talks about loving yourself. I will try now 😀

I just found your channel, you're funny. I binge watch weight loss shows cause I used to be 435lbs had gastric sleeve 7 years ago and just had a revision to bypass cause my reflux was so bad. I'm 180 now but I'm only 3 weeks out and my Dr thinks I'll drop about 50 more pounds. Life is definitely different.
I think the judge's makeup artist is too heavy on the blush/rouge. The idea is to bring attention to her eyes, but she really doesn't need that much. A light contour would be better, imo.
