      You should not be mean as a parent, but if you make the nest too comfy….many baby birds will just stay there and keep getting cared for and fed, rather than flying off on their own.
      I am not a big Dr. Phil fan, but he said that a parents main job is to prepare kids for their next stage of life…..and some moms in particular forget this and over-baby their adult kids for their own reasons.

      It's actually a travesty that more dieticians don't just suggest diet soda to these people. And all the fat people have it in their heads from bad advice and misinformation that diet soda, is somehow worse for them. Just drink diet soda dummies. I was never morbidly obese. But I was obese in high school, and it's 100% because I was and still am addicted to soda. I lost 80 pounds in 3 months just from switching to diet soda. When I'm more active and watch what I eat, I can easily get below 200. Just by not drinking regular soda I usually weigh around 220. That's 100 pounds less than when I was drinking regular soda back in high school because I was 320 back then.

    There’s an interesting correlation between the patients whose parents were absent when they were children and their current condition- they’ve basically made themselves dependent children again with their weight gain, forcing their parents to finally take care of them as if they were a small child. Joyce and her mother are another good example of this.

      Ikr, it's shocking how so many calories can hide in such a (relatively) small amount of food. . . I used to eat a whole 16-inch pizza when I was obese, and I always drank soda, never water.
      Back during the Cold War, when people were building bomb shelters, the government was trying to figure out how to cram enough calories into survival rations that could be stored in a small space, and they never could cram that many calories into that amount of food.
      But the food chemists who work for junk food companies have been able to do what the Pentagon never could. There's a "trail mix" I used to love to eat while I was watching TV, that has over 5,000 calories in one little bag!

I can feel every pound i either gain or lose! Currently sitting in the Dr’s office because my hip is in pain. I can’t imagine being 600 pounds. 😩 I stay on top of these videos to remind myself where I’m headed if I don’t get my self motivated!! I think what happens is they think if they cut back significantly from their normal eating habits, the weight will melt off. • @zxyatiywariii8
      @zxyatiywariii8 5 місяців тому +15

      Yes exactly! When I was obese, I used to eat at least 6,000 calories every day*, and I'm not tall like Sean, so I don't even need 2,000. But when someone is accustomed to such a huge amount, even cutting it in half is still WAY too much.
      Also so many people don't look up the carb content of foods, so when Dr Now says "low carb" they don't understand that even includes vegetables that are high carb.
      *I never realized I was eating that many calories until I googled my favorite foods and added up the calories. America has such huge serving sizes pictured on the package, but then on the back, the "serving size" is SO much smaller! Like, they'll show a bowl full of cereal four or five times larger than the recommended "serving size".

That has to hurt his back. I hope he can figure it out. I genuinely think they have no idea what food and how much they should be eating. They have no idea what normal portion sizes are and so they genuinely believe that they are doing better… even though they are absolutely not.

    I used to be completely addicted to soda when i was heavy. I could easily drink 6 cans of sodas a day. When I decided I was ready to lose weight, the very first thing i completely cut out was drinking soda. Replaced it with water, unsweetened teas, zero calorie/zero sweetener sparkling water, and black coffee. I really feel that was a big part of my weight gain, 6+ years later I haven't had a can of soda since.
    It's strange, once I completely stop drinking it...and tried to drink a sip months and months after I quit, it didn't taste good to me anymore at all
