Suggest you do several more vids with Dennis. The progression would be interesting. Thanks Kyle.
Absolutely agree
yeah..
Agree Dennis you are our tester 😅
Don't stop till Dennis gets his own title
i couldn't agree more. this is one of the best videos i've seen. actual coaching session is nice to see
I have to say thank you to Brad and Kyle for this video. I'm a 155 average bowler, still trying for my first 200 game. I saw this video on Friday and at practice today I used this method and scored a 229!! Thank you again. Your videos are great and very helpful for tips and advice!
That's amazing!!! Congrats!! I used to be a 162 bowler, 40 years ago. I just started bowling again and just found this channel. Keep up your great work! Thank you Brad and Kyle!! I really enjoy watching your videos and trying to apply your suggestions.
I've been bowling once a week the past 2 months and bowl 4 games. I am very inconsistent but missed a 200 last Saturday by 1 pin :(!
I need to be more balanced when planting my lead foot. Many times, I feel my release is not where it should be. I averaged 150 in those 4 games last week but had 3 games around 130 The week before I had 2 games of 176 out of the 4. So I am probably averaging around 140 or so in the past 2 months. One week I did average 160 for the 4 games.
I definitely want to improve my release and consistency before joining a league.
I am going to try the 2 tips from this video. I'm hoping these 2 techniques improve my consistency. My ball is an Ebonite 16 lb ball from 40 years old. I do not throw a hook. Eventually, I want to buy a new ball and learn how to begin hooking it, but do not feel I am ready for that.
Great job again!!!
Great job. Now you are going to crave that 600 series and get a bunch of 590s lol.
these are awesome for those of us who live in places with limited coaching opportunities
Kyle explains things so well and doesn't get into technical jargon for people. You can already see a huge difference in rev rate in Dennis' shots just after a few throws. Some people just have a knack for coaching and Kyle definitely has it.
😅1 I o
Coming from a baseball background the fact he emphasizes “feel” is so important. Translating words into a feeling that someone can recognize is what make a coach great.
Also the fact Dennis knows what he needs to work on is a big point too. When the student knows enough to recognize a problem that’s a huge step
I immediately started bowling better after watching this video!! Thank you!
This has changed my (bowling) life. 220 avg bowler was struggling the last 4 months to hit 600 series. Made this change and game 3 was 289, then 255. My track moved 1" closer to my finger grips and ball reaction is much more predictable. I am excited to bowl again which has been missing for a while. Thanks Kyle!
Gave the "pointing the V toward the pins" thing a try during practice, today. I'm a 172 average bowler... in today's practice, I bowled a 212, 223, and 226. Thanks for the tip!
The coaching membership is 100% worth it if anyone is on the fence about it. I’ve seen similar improvements in my own game to what we saw with Dennis in this viedo
People who really understand the sport of bowling and how to get better, are very rare in my area. I‘m very thankfull for the work you two throw into this channel. I‘m feeling like getting better just by watching your content 😂👍🏻
That was such a helpful video, Kyle! Never seen anyone break it down that way. Can't wait to Dennis' progression! Also, can't wait for that Brad and Kyle bowling ball! 😉
This video would drop right when I left the alley haha. I'm excited to see the next step if you do continue with this!
Thanks for this session!! I changed to this hand position and immediately got more consistent. At one point across 2 games, I threw 11 in a row!! Ended up with a 643!! And, was only a 175 average bowler. Awesome adjustment!! Keep the info coming guys! I appreciate it!!
Patton Oswald working on his bowling game NICE!!!!!😂
My friends and I picked up bowling just as a fun little weekly past time where we can hang out and have a good time. 6 months in we got bored of throwing it straight and started to practice hooking the house balls. Now almost a year later we each bought our very own balls, ball bag, and shoes.
First day throwing the new balls one of the regular league players comes up to us and tells us how painful it was watching us try hooking with the house balls for the past few months and we all had a good laugh. This video helped me be better at it. So thank you.
Awesome. I just went for the first time with my friends on Saturday. I hope this is me in a few years. We had such a good time.
This was awesome. I loved every second. More vids like this. I learned out so much from watching a fellow amateur.
This was soooo informative. His release is exactly like mine, so it is good to see what how he was able to progress and Ill be certainly trying this “fix” to work on mine. My problem is if I try and stay behind the ball I don’t get the ball speed I need.
That's actually a good thing if you don't get the ball speed you think you need if you are THIS speed dominant. Judging by Dennis' first release his RPMs are 175 to 225 with his ball speed at 15 to 16 MPH (at the pins). That is incredibly speed dominant. In order for him to have optimal motion he'd need to slow down to about 13ish MPH.
I finally find a video that explains to me what the yoyo release should look like. Thank you for always sharing your advice. You guys do an awesome job! Keep up the good work. Best of luck on the lanes!
This is exactly what I've been looking for. You guys have talked about this release in many videos, but I couldn't find the "feel" or strategy to get me there. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Watched this video this morning. Kept the V on my mind bowling league. Bowled my best series in a while. 757 series. Great content!
Brad, I've been watching your videos for a while, thank you. Also thanks for showing us the correct wrist motion!
By far one of the best tips that I've come across! I wasn't aware how much axis rotation until I had my wife record me. Now I practice keeping the "V" pointed towards the pins. Definitely a game changer.
thanks for this! staying behind the ball is something i struggle with as well. hope to see more in this series.
so how are you supposed to spin the ball and keep your hand or the "V'" straight?
This is what I needed. I'm trying this tomorrow, thanks.
I videoed my self and yup outside grip all the way. Can't wait to give this lesson a try. Thanks for the very simple instructions.
LOVE THINS KIND OF VIDEO. VERY HELPFUL!
Great tips love watching you guys
Heck yeah. This is one of the things I am currently working on. I've been bowling fairly consistent for over 2 and a half years now, and in all this time I have yet to get Rev. I've been a straight bowler trying everything I can to get hook down lane, and increase revs, and this was just the video I needed! Thanks Brad and Kyle for always producing great content!
This is the best video you’ve ever made! For sure do more of this style.
Honestly, maybe the best ever. It was so informative I could watch hours of this kind of video.
Dude! I think i just found the video ive been searching for! Definitely going to add this to my drill. Thank you
this is the exact video i needed. THANK YOU!!!!
Saw this video and my release is similar to Dennis's. Will try the 'v' method at league today. Great tips ,well presented. Thank you Kyle and Dennis.
Missed you guys! 2 weeks is way to
Long!! Always excited when I see when a video drops!
I really love these types of videos from you guys
That was very clear! Thank you for the helpful techniques. The V and the release are helpful to an amateur like me 😊 Thank you!
This was very helpful for me I can’t wait to go the lanes and try these 2 things out because these are things I definitely struggle with
Im so glad you did this i have been wanting to learn how to do this
Thank you very much for videos like this, it helped me and I don't think I'm the only one helped by this great tip. My bowling release got so much better !!! And all I did was pointing the V to the pins. Great videos you guys are making, continue like this !!!
This video has helped so much! Bowling has brought me out of depression and now I just want to get better and have fun. THANK U❤
Looking forward to trying this in my future practice sessions.
Very helpful. Will practice this.
Great video. Please make more of these
These are AWESOME tips!!! Very much appreciated…keep this series going for the love of GOD!!
Good instructions, I get quick and rush at the bottom of release and get above the equator.
This something I will focus on, Thanks Kyle
Great video Kyle. Really like the teaching an amateur format.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Returned to league bowling this past fall after 35 years away, and gradually improved all winter. But I plateaued and found myself struggling with a consistent release. My average is 156 and last night I used this "V" technique and felt consistent all evening with my release. Rolled 192, 195 and 171 (a couple splits brought it down). THANK YOU!! 🎳
Can’t wait to reference this video when I practice. Wish you guys were near me for some lessons!
Love this vid for mom and I as we improve and understand the mechanics
This was a amazing video. Definitely a good pivot for content.
i definitely have to try this to see if it changes anything for me. i like how you give us the V to help hold the ball better, and it gives us something to aim to attempt to maintain the hold throughout the throw. the release with a push into the lane at the end sounds so different than anything else ive been told(release into a handshake) so im sure it will change things up a lot
AWESOME. Hard to find an instructional that's basic. Step by step. On a fun league. Going to use the tips tonight.
So awesome with this content. Thanks so much
This was very informative. Gives me some thing to work on.
great show bringing in amateur bowler and work with how hard it can be.
Finallyyy.. been searching this kind of tips for years. I do have the same problem with Dennis, my flare way too far from the thumb hole. Definately will try this tips. Thank you!😊
Nice instruction, easy to follow.
This is much better than some other videos I watched. It’s honestly tough to see the difference but it was explained well and I’ve taken some notes and I know I can work on this.
I really appreciate you sharing this video with us just incase we can use some of these tips ourselves to fix our games
In all this is the best explanation of the release that I've ever heard, Great job I now understand something that has eluded me for years.
This was the one I needed to see. If you could do a series of these, that would be really helpful.
Great work! Love the channel!
I never thought I'd be able to improve my bowling score by watching a UA-cam video. Thank you so much, Kyle for this amazingly helpful and easy to understand lesson!
He is one of the best guys in the sport. I understand everything he says. Keep it going!
exciting to watch...i have the same problem for the last 60 yrs, but am dedicated to do it the RIGHT way...thanks....wlll try the next practice session
Great tip!!!! with that V finger shape. Helped me A LOT!
I'm a 220 average bowler the past two years. I have side rotation still not as bad as when I was in high school but been trying to fix it more n more. This probably will help me and I also watched more videos on my swing and balance arm. Gonna try those things as well. Thanks brad n Kyle.
Thanks Kyle, this was an excellent tip.
This is a great video. I appreciate your example of the "V". I've had coaching before, but was told to "just do this, just do that", and it never translates. Really considering the coaching program. I'm like Dennis, currently a spinner with a low track and I need to know the feel as opposed to just doing something. I need that Brad and Kyle Butter roll to get to the next level.
This was super informative
wow! Reallly Good info. Thankyou
Great video, loved the lesson about the V i got my new primal shock the same weekend that i watched this, worked on my release and in three weeks with my shock and keeping the V straight, my release is so much better. Ive shot a 200 each week and my average has shot up from a 164 to a 180 ! Very exciting.
I just have the same issue!! ONE BIG HINT! Thanks Kyle!
Very useful tip!
This was a very helpful video it’s hard to get the hand to do this all us amateurs swipe. Definitely gonna try this.
Awesome video fellas! More Dennis. Great student!
Thank you for this
Working on making my "V" point towards the pins
Man, this video is exactly what I needed to see.. I have a 181 average and I release from the side like this. I have tried so hard to keep my hand behind the ball but my hand just goes to the side from either habit, muscle memory or whatever. I think practicing with the focus on the "V" and then wrist snap will really help.
This video is so helpful! I finally understand the yo-yo release
Keeping that V pointed is quality advice. I tried that out while practice with some friends today. Felt different, but it also felt right if you know what I mean. First time attempting to bowl for the first time in 4or 5 years, so it was nice to see this type of video.
the "V" that was mentioned in the vid helped me shoot 2 perfect games in a row yesterday and gave me the feel i was looking for to make my release snap the way ive always wanted it too
Dennis and I have similar releases to start. I struggle to get to the inside / yo-yo release. Good for him.
Applied this during my last session. Averaged 230 for 5 games, setting a new high. Thanks for the tip!
PURE GOLD HERE, BOYS!
I love that he's taking coaching from Kyle while wearing the Brad shirt. 😂 Lettin' you know whonhe really wants coaching from. 😅
Such an interesting motion of the wrist to flex back or yo-yo...and when Dennis tries it, you can see it going from a spin biscuit to being up the back. If you have a strong wrist and understand how to leverage power, you can really rip the ball with revs
Best video that help improve my bowling
Good stuff thanks
Being a Sr. bowler that is much like Dennis, I’ve been trying to lower my Tilt for a longtime and work on it weekly right now. Great vid for many of us. It would have been nice to have his Specs, Rotation, Tilt, Ball Speed Front and Back, and Revs and compare they if he able to make progress to see the dif. I’ll apply more of this next weekend. I see changes visually from my oil rings. Always looking for them to be closer to my grip
great lesson, I think the way Dennis done previously is the correct one (I also try to do the same just a little lower position when release ball). Found some video talking about yo-yo motion and this one is clearly demonstrate.
I'd love to see a pt2 of this video to see where to go next after figuring out the things you mention in this video!
This was a good video. Short and sweet. But… great info! I worked on this a lot last season, I am starting to see the scores improve
thx for this frfr
Great video. I've watched this several times since it was posted. Please do a follow up video with Dennis !
I used that tip in league last night and it helped me . The ball was coming off good and it improved my roll. Shot 624. Thanks Guys!!
What an outstanding video. I needed this ty!!
It's important to remember when improving/changing mechanical aspects of your game, that you WILL take a step or two back in terms of your individual game scores when you compete. At some point though, it will click, and you'll be a little bit better than you were before. I know from experience...
Truth
It's thought to be the same in Japan that the score goes down a little when you change something. It's universal.
Amazingly good vid
Cannot love this video enough!
Wow dude, this was actually really informative.
Super helpful video! One part from this video I still don't quite understand is whether the high revs from release behind makes up for the less axis rotation, which translates in to more hook?
