Not only did Jay win completely, crushing it on his first try hard, he also came up with Tom's plan during his own, the same plan that still would have gotten him further than Tom if he wasn't specifically aiming for Gibraltar. Basically, he schooled them both. And he even did it in French.

As someone from Preston I can confirm there is indeed fuck all there, but seeing Eddie desperately running round my home town to get a bus for £2 brought me immense joy
i was trying my hardest to think of something. but despite it being actually a very nice place, it's really unremarkable. if you want to leave preston with an interesting but ultimately worthless souvenir, you get a degree from uclan.
If you ever find yourself in Limoges looking for a fitting souvenir after a dishonest bespectacled man challenged you to a travelling contest, the town is famous for its porcelain. The more you know. If you only manage to make it to Orléans, use whatever means necessary to leave as soon as possible and book it to Tours instead, which is much better in every way (sorry, I'm from there and there's a bit of a regional rivalry). Also, if you're wondering about Jay's french level, he's pretty good! Wouldn't pass for a native, but he's fully intelligible and comprehensible.
Jeanne d'Arc is from Orléans and she absolutely crushed the English, so it's a win for Orléans in my opinion. I'm not from there so I don't actually know anything else about Orléans or Tours.
Oh my God, the contest making it's way to Maidstone (the shitty town I currently live in) feels BIZARRE - like, no, you're people I'm parasocially attached to, you can't be real people that might coincidentally brush up against my life 😂
Even if he had no clue about the country, I'm glad to even hear the mention of my homeland Estonia from Tim Tommy Tomscar himself💪💯 (In the ad portion I should mention) (Also there is an infamous ghost lady in my country so he technically got it right)

i scrolled WAY too many comments to reach this one. that was exactly what i was thinking LMAO
Aka TomSurfSkark, EddSurfSharkhe and Jay commit several small crimes and exploit the general public to travel as far as they can. I love how chaotic and silly these challenges are; that Jay did it closest to the spirit of the thing, Ed did it with such chaotic aplomb and failure whilst Tom played the game the hardest and went out of his way to one-up and rub it in Jay's cheeky teasing.
SPOILERS:
Faking and revealing it was definitely the right play. This video was fantastic
They got JAY FORMEAN!?!?!?! OMG THIS IS AMAZING
THEY FUCKING SHAVED ELLIOT
I mean Estonia does have a ghost in popular folklore, only she's pale white. You did done good
Not only did Jay win completely, crushing it on his first try hard, he also came up with Tom's plan during his own, the same plan that still would have gotten him further than Tom if he wasn't specifically aiming for Gibraltar. Basically, he schooled them both. And he even did it in French.
Jay should have simply contacted the Tim Traveller, who has collaborated with Jay on some of the videos he's produced and/or appeared in over the past few years (What Went Wrong With The Tube Map?). I'm sure Tim would have been willing to give Jay a hand once he reached French soil...unless he was out of the country at that time!!
Ok but this video is actually great.
Its so heartwarming to see so many kind people and showcasing businesses and even a charity is awesome as hell..
I would love to see more of these videos
The fact you are wearing a Don Hertzfeldt REJECTED tshirt is amazing.
"...In this country..." he says while still legally standing in the UK (i.e. Gibraltar), and worrying about what currency to use...
Tom’s look is steadily approaching “my favorite biology teacher” or “coolest marine biologist in town” and it’s amazing!
Jay slamming on the piano in the Gare de Limoges was the best way to make money imo
35:49 "and I am also here"
Oh my God, the contest making it's way to Maidstone (the shitty town I currently live in) feels BIZARRE - like, no, you're people I'm parasocially attached to, you can't be real people that might coincidentally brush up against my life 😂
Even if he had no clue about the country, I'm glad to even hear the mention of my homeland Estonia from Tim Tommy Tomscar himself💪💯
(In the ad portion I should mention)
(Also there is an infamous ghost lady in my country so he technically got it right)
9:33 Ah yes, 'Passionate Dune', my favourite Frank Herbert novel
