I think the most disturbing thing about intensely thinking, "If telepaths exist, get out of my head!!!" would be if a random passerby just said quietly in your ear as they walked next to you, _"Don't be silly. Telepaths aren't real,"_ and just carried on walking...

I'm noticing, Tom, that you have a particularly unique and fluid definition of "seconds."
John Maddock time is a social construct.
Time is in the eye of the clock holder.
Time is relative
time is a relative term
is relative. Time
"It's completely fine to be naked if you're ethereal."
You'd still be cold. There was a re-write of The Invisible Man. A good book became a predictably awful Chevy Chase movie. But the book drills down into the concept. Can't eat, cuz your food shows...digesting. Can't wear clothes, so what do you do when you re-appear. etc.
You would also not be able to see.
Enrico Piazza
Well, if we're gonna get into the "actually not possible" stuff...gotta put "be invisible" at the top of the list. Once you say "yeah, but somehow you are"...some corners must be cut.
In the book, the clothes he was in (and other clothes from the Inviliblizing Incident site) were ALSO invisible. So he could wear stuff.
If you can turn invisible the clothes you are wearing, you should also be able to make just some parts of your body invisible. Like your hand or head. Or skin. That last one might actually be dangerous, as it makes your inner parts exposed to sun. I think you would get cancer pretty damn easily if doing so.
Partial invisibility is also cool for medical purposes. Depending on how you could control it, you might be able to show for example just your heart or brains and different layers of them. You wouldn't need x-ray, you could show a full HD crosscut of your bones if needed. Wow, this is actually like the coolest one of the superpowers.
ngl, this is the best live video feed I've seen on UA-cam. It's not full of awkward pauses or technical difficulties. Even for a show it's interesting and grabbing the whole way.
I mean there's one of the Technical Difficulties
The audience was a bit meh for what they were putting on, I can't believe there wasn't more laughter.

"In order to get to the space you've gotta go through the air... or something has gone very wrong." -- Tom Scott
I was with Jay, from a logical standpoint, until Will opened his mouth.
This goes for every question equally.
There is a fundamental flaw in this concept. The person with the option which gets the highest initial vote is a disadvantage while the person with the least popular category has an advantage due to regression towards the mean. Basically the higher an initial stat is the greater the chance that it decreases on a second measurement- intuitively, there are fewer people eligible to change their mind to your category if it is initially popular! Imaging if someone got 100% of the votes to start with- they'd be guaranteed to lose (or at best tie 3 ways with 0 mind changes).
Now I've watched it I note: The initial leader did not win a single round.
The choice with the second most initial votes won 1 round.
The least popular initial choice won 3 rounds.
Sorry to break it you Tom, your game is broken.
Assuming each of these categories should win 4/3 of the rounds if my hypothesis is false the chi-squared statistic is ((4/3-0)^2+(4/3-1)^2+(4/3-3)^2)/(4/3)=3.5 with 2 degrees of freedom. This null hypothesis is rejected at the 20% significance level but not at the 15% level. There's still hope!
I noticed that too. Maybe total percentage + changed percentage would be a decent balance. If you start at 90% and end up at 80%, your score would still be 70%. Plus, the three scores would still be guaranteed to add up to 100%, so that's kinda nice.
The one flaw in your analysis is, this is a panel comedy show, not a game show. It's not particularly meant to be fair. (:
I feel like this sort of nerdy analysis is the kind of thing Tom would appreciate. I'm happy to continue watching this show, it was very enjoyable but I just think it was interesting to note the problems. As he releases more episodes I'll probably keep the analysis going as the sample size increases to see if we can really see the regression towards the mean effect in action.
This is hands down Tom Scott's finest work. Gripped for 45 minutes solid.

Jay was the only one who focused on the culinary possibilities of his carbohydrate. I don't care about what art you can make with food. I care about having a wide variety of tasty and interesting meals to be able to create
My choices for the superpower question kinda invert if you have control:
1: Controlled Telepathy
2: Controlled Flight
3: Controlled Invisibility
4: Uncontrolled Invisibility
5: Uncontrolled Flight
6: Uncontrolled Telepathy.
My reasoning is as follows:
I don't really like having lots of attention on me, so being the guy who hovers down the street would be awful. I'd much rather be permanently invisible, thank you. And uncontrolled telepathy would probably drive you mad. There's a character in an anime called Code Geass who has exactly that issue and the guy is among the looniest characters I've seen in media.
Conversely, controlled flight would be nice because I could get where I want to go quickly and cheaply, so it's better than the controlled invisibility because the only uses for that are pranking people, espionage, or crime, none of which I find particularly appealing. Controlled telepathy, on the other hand, would be immensely beneficial because I'd actually be able to know what to say to people (with practice, anyway).
And control is innately better than lack of control.
"Land land land land land" is a valid sentence :P
