I would have gone for a uniformly distributed version of the Tom (Scott)'s battleship strategy instead of scanning top-down, since I feel it is likely for humans to make use of the full board space, so this might converge faster? I think one of the better strategies does something similar, but with a proper probability density heatmap instead. Not sure if it is *optimal* against the average, untrained human's strategy, since it's possible implementing some system to attempt to guess groupings may or may not offer an advantage as well.

For a more challenging jenga experience with your normal set of jenga pieces, stack them on their narrow sides in groups of 5, and if desired, space them out with additional layers of 3 to use all the pieces. In a 72 piece set, that'd be four short 3-piece layers and twelve tall 5 piece layers--or you could just leave two out. It's so much more tense than normal jenga.

I always thought you can not put ships to touch, even horizontally. They should have a gap of one on all sides. This way when you sink the ship, you get to surround it with white pegs on all sides.
You both played a perfect game of Connect4!!! The opening was a sideline in the Norwegian(DCDB, better:DCDD DCCD) but after the B move Tom Scott got a +5 advantage and never lost it during the game. On the other hand TomSka found always one of the best moves. So letting Tom Scotts advantage never be more than +5. Apart from TomSka's G4 move which only shortened the game unsignificantly. Therefore a perfect game of Connect4.
This needs to be a yearly competition now to see who gets to hold the title of "Best Tom" for the upcoming year.

How bizarre... I found Tom Scott many years ago because I told my dad about TomSka and he misheard me and started playing a Tom Scott video XD
This was the most intense board game session I've ever seen.
I through that Tom had it in the bag, but then Tom made a comeback and managed to even the score.

For a more challenging jenga experience with your normal set of jenga pieces, stack them on their narrow sides in groups of 5, and if desired, space them out with additional layers of 3 to use all the pieces. In a 72 piece set, that'd be four short 3-piece layers and twelve tall 5 piece layers--or you could just leave two out. It's so much more tense than normal jenga.
I was surprised they didn't do chess clock Jenga as Tom made a video on it ages ago

The last game was like L vs Light, the strategy, the mindgames, the similar names, the insistence on victory. Incredible competition. Can't wait for next year's Best Tom

The fact, too, that Tomska knew Tom would notice that, assume Tomska was signaling something even unconsciously, and try to capitalize off of it is amazing.
Legit would never have expected this collab. Two quite wonderful Toms from very different worlds. :o

I've seriously never felt so tense watching a game of rock, paper, scissors before.
It's the most universally tension-inducing game, yet this was the most tense I've ever felt from it.
I always thought you can not put ships to touch, even horizontally. They should have a gap of one on all sides. This way when you sink the ship, you get to surround it with white pegs on all sides.
That’s how the paper puzzle works, but not the game unless you include it in the house rules.
It brings me so much joy to see two grown men take a game of battleship so seriously. Great stuff
You both played a perfect game of Connect4!!! The opening was a sideline in the Norwegian(DCDB, better:DCDD DCCD) but after the B move Tom Scott got a +5 advantage and never lost it during the game. On the other hand TomSka found always one of the best moves. So letting Tom Scotts advantage never be more than +5. Apart from TomSka's G4 move which only shortened the game unsignificantly. Therefore a perfect game of Connect4.
I couldn't stop laughing as the two of you got more invested as the games went on. What a fantastic crossover!

I think this might be my favorite Tom Scott Plus yet. Its got a wonderful mix of chaos and Tom (Scott)'s usual polish. It's really great.
