I hope they let it track sleep during the day. My miband2 frustrates me because it can't track sleep during the day and I work night shifts. :(

julskechap Yeah exactly. With that App you can do so many things. For example show the text from whats app messages or the name. Or you can use smart alarm so the Band will wake you in an light sleep. Or you can do an power nap. And like you wanted you can track your sleep the whole day. And that is not even everything.
Still rocking the Mi Band 2. will wait for the 4 since i don't think the 3 is a big enough upgrade

Guys who has mi band 2, how's the heart rat monitoring? I would buy it mostly for that: I wanna check it while running
I loved it. Specially with exercises with the option from the to monitor the activity so it keeps monitoring your heart. I don't plan on changing my mi band 2 anytime soon. Excellent and cheap! Ps: i specially like the normal sleep function (you trully don't need to put it on the option for heart here). Also the battery is amazing. Best buy for sure!

Does the new band have the same watch band clasp? I find that since I wear it on the same hole all the time, it stretches out and the band falls off. My first MiBand2 lasted only 6 months before it got lost. My 2nd one has lasted almost a year... has not fallen off yet...

I had my mi band for almost one year now, and I have never see the tracker pop out (I had to replace the strap because it got worn out tho)

The mi band 3 is actually 5ATM waterproof as it states in the instructions on mine. You can swim fully with the mi band 3 without worry up to 50 meters.

I think when we buy a fitness tracker is not for the fancy giant screen. i just need a good battery life, accurate sensor (heart rate, % O2, blood pressure), built in GPS so i dont need to carry my phone when im running.

I found the Mi band 2 extremely uncomfortable due to its protruding heart rate monitor and how narrow it was, so i can't see this being any better.
The battery life was reasonably good but sleep tracking was rubbish, it worked at night but was useless at tracking sleep if you slept during the day (night worker).
And the 'screen'....that was so small, it was ridiculous to use or even see (especially if exercising).
I think I'll avoid this one.

Mi band 3 outdoor brightness is weak.
How well does the heart rate monitor work with dark complexions? With the two, it only works on areas with decreased melanin (usually my finger). Hopefully that's been fixed in the new model. I think I speak for most Africans when i say that we were mildly disappointed by the lack of comprehensive skin tone testing before the mi band 2 was rolled out

The only big selling point for me is the NFC. Not enough for me as I expected a bigger battery life... It is lower so no way will I upgrade. I would have rather had the same small screen but with NFC and 30+ days.

Folks that have mi band 2 like myself there isn't much of and improvements to make one upgrade but they are so cheap that i will anyways lol. I love band 2 coz its small and i forget i am wearing it. I take showers with it and has never fallen off either. Not sure about visibility of mi 3 outdoors coz mi 2 isnt bright enough. Doesn't bother me though. And yes it can be set for English. There is open source development too for mi 2.

Miband 2 outdoor brightness is horrible under direct sunlight. I bought Bip as a replacement which is much better. The most important thing for the 3 is the price since bip is $45 with GPS, touch screen and 45 days battery life.

I have a mi band 3 but I think I should have bought a mi band 2 instead it looks really good.
The water resistance of ip67 is not suitable for swimming pool workout, it would not last long but the ATM5 of the Mi band 3 is more suited for swimming pool workout. If you need more water resistance for your daily life the mi band3 is better at it so you don't need to take it off when you go swimming on the pool. But if you are not swimming 80% of the time grab the mi band2 instead you can save more money while it's less distrubing at night while in bed since it's more compact due to it's smaller size compared over the Mi band 3. I think the other features of the mi band 3 is not necessary, or you can live without them... it's the water resistance of the Mi band 3 that makes it what it is & makes the decision on buying it. The mi band2 is more bang for your buck, if you do not need ATM5 water resistance better buy the amazefit since it's got more functions plus bigger screen size but not suitable for swimming pool workouts. The price difference of the amazefit & the mi band3 is not much but the battery of the Amazefit last alot longer compared to the Mi band3 (20 days compared to 45 days of the Amazefit).

Mi band 2 are much better design product. suggest that you wait for the 4th, my Mi band last more than a year cause of less bump, easy use and and even wearable while swimming (you can even get notifications from your phone if it close enough like 5-7 meters in the pool)
