Ganon fthrow will only kill you from around 100+ even with bad DI. At that point, down throw will never combo even with DI in, so you can do that to survive safely. You can probably start DI-ing in at around 80-90, ganon’s pretty slow so you can jump away from attempted down throw follow ups. Neither throw is super slow, so the tip Nairo points out in this clip doesn’t apply the same since it’s harder to react, but you don’t need to, just know which DI is safest at the percent you’re grabbed at.
I don’t have much trouble with DI’ing throws in ultimate. It’s Project Melee Sheik throws into fair that destroy me. Can’t tell if you can’t react or if my reaction time sucks.
You can definitely react to it but is much harder than in melee since they sped up dthrow a lot. You have to to react to getting grabbed though, if you react to the throw animation like nairo suggests in this video for slower throws, you wont get it in time unless you have insane reactions.
Didn't Nairo die to Toon Link back throw before it should kill one time because he mashed toward the blast zone or something before the throw came out? Even if the input on screen showed correct DI?
it's very character dependent. Hop into character discords and look at their kill confirms at what percents. DI up and away to escape most followups, down and in to survive horizontal kill moves, down and out to survive vertical kill moves.
You just have to know what their options are based on the character and the habits of your opponent. There's no real strategy that works for every character, you'll just have to remember it by practicing.
ok for simpler terms hes basically sayin for combo throw chars that have combo throws that turn into kill confirms u have to watch out for the di for example down throw up air/fair/bair is a thing for pit watch out for it cus dosn throw uair doesnt always work its for you to figure out nd for the player to work around basically
In most scenarios you will die if you don't DI. Some DI might make it easier for the character to kill you and you get a really bad DI angle that kills earlier than normal. And the worst thing is not know how, where, and when to DI. That will probably get you killed even more by default.
“Incineroar is a character”-Nairo
As an Incin main since launch, I agree
As an incin main for a year, I agree
As an Incin main since 2 hours ago, I agree
As a goku main, idk wtf you're talking about
i love incin
I die to ganon forward throw because of this
Does di up help with that?

That's the general way I've learned how to deal with kill/setup throws. Hold for the fastest throw and react to the slowest

Thanks nairo

DI for the combo throw, react to the kill throw DI
Is there a guide that exists of how to properly DI for each characters moves?
Idk

...isn't...forward throw his one garbage throw? I always go down for low-mid percent, then back/up if it gets up to kill %
I need this video no cap

I didn't get any of that, Nairo did it better lol. Punctuation might help, just saying.
As someone who understood the concept before Nairo explained it in this clip, I think I now forgot it after reading your "simpler terms."
Wait. This isn't common knowledge? Good to clip for people who don't know.
Why would you even DI in anything at all?!
(Exept to live and certain other specific scenario)
thats the secret
against joker I'll DI his down throw in at ledge so down throw back air isnt a combo, I take the up air and live another day
@@jazerasor1455 yeah but these are like situations. If they DI in by default, something is broken in them...

Cloud has to DI in on some combos (like Sheik) in order to stay closer to the stage. I’d imagine a lot of characters could do something similar.
