I did stay at the hotel on the mountain--the train was timed to get you there for lunch, and then most people would go see MP in the afternoon and go back to Cusco. I stayed overnight at the hotel to get a full day at MP, starting in the morning when the tourist hordes weren't there. The thing that impressed me most about the surroundings (disregarding MP itself, if you can) is that the noise from the river was omnipresent: the mountains act like a megaphone so the roar was everywhere at all times. Very impressive!
We did the same trip around 18 years ago... the train has changed.. the people are still as friendly.. oh and we stayed at the same place ... it can rain in the valley and be clear blue at the top... enjoy.

The town at the feet of Machu Picchu is called Aguas Calientes if I remember correctly. It has changed and grown so much since I visited in the 1980's and the train journey now is more luxurious. I climbed up the mountain to the ruins and I look forward to seeing your video of the treck up there. Enjoy!

It's actually nice that you're following along in my footsteps from a few years ago, but taking better pictures! :) Nice to see those places again. We were in a different hotel though, but it is really necessary to arrive in Aguas Calientes the day before and do Machu Picchu as early as possible the next day.

Recently as a part of my studies, I have studied a little bit about Inca civilization. Which was quite interesting and I want to know more in-depth. But, wait this is the most beautiful vlog. Full of greeneries and the bridge side area on the last part of the vid❤, I always wanted to travel to such places... Mini form of exploring the world or dream cities...
