    This is poetry in motion. Your strokes are perfection.

    I partially agree. I'm also open water swimmer, BUT i swim also when the sea is VERY agitated, situation when the only stroke available is STRIGHT HAND high up , as some swimmers do for high peace/speed. That way the big waves didn't block your hands in classical high elbow stroke.

      If you swim flat then the shoulder is lower and I agree you have to lift. I’m on my side when I do my recovery arm so shoulder is much higher and therefore I don’t have to do a straight hand up high the recovery arm can be more of a sweeping motion. Try it 👍

      @@adamwalker32 I was trying everithing, i know well what you said, in waters with small waves i swim in classic style, elbow up, spread fingers, hips turned opposite of recovery arm, as you show in video, but with head little bit lower in water and breathing on left side only (i bteath both only when sprinting - at 4 arms). I always swim with body horizontally, never sinking my hips (not even in breaststroke- there i developed few own variations which works very well, good speed and help training my core muscles)

    Your swim is a thing of great beauty. Looks so effortless and graceful. I can swim butterfly no prob, but my freestyle has a lot of room for improvement.

    Hi Adam, the cause of the feeling of swimming in the descent is the kick of the foot, thanks

    I'm a bit curious about how you catch and pull the water. Is it an EVF or an S-pattern pull?

  • @mjchecksfield914
    @mjchecksfield914 19 днів тому

    One of the big differences is learning how to play the waves and currents. Generally, yes you need to go under the top of the wave so it doesnt push you backwards. But some of the top swimmers power over the top of the crest of the wave and then can accelerate on the down slope back of the wave and at the same time cresting the wave gives you a momenrtary good vision of where the buoys or your direction markers are. If you spend too long going under the waves you can end up well off course, so you need to develop both skills, going under and cresting.

    I would say you rotate about 70-80 degree not 90, is not that right? I was trying to do 90 and it feels bad, i need to move my head for that (its easy to do when you rotate your head for a breath), and when you dont breath its uncomfortable to rotate 90, more like 75. Also, on the video you seem to rotate more when on the breath side. And why not to do full deep breath instead of 20% in 20% out?
