I’m 100% convinced the end sequence about the myth of Sisyphus will have a great impact on a lot of people who are struggling in life and see it. Things like these are much more than just a documentary. It’s a life saver 🙏🏻
"We must dare to be great; and we must realize that greatness is the fruit of toil and sacrifice and high courage" - no-one embodies this more than Ross, thank you for daring
Beautiful story. The irony of going from hypothermic temps to a freak heatwave is mad!! But the story is in the struggle and Ross' ability to keep pushing forward
What Ross said at the end of the video were some of the best motivational words I’ve heard recently! This man was born to struggle, and he learned how to enjoy it. Amazing!
Great job. I’ve just recently kick started my swimming after the pandemic threw me off keel for nearly 3 years out of the water. After watching this I’m even more convinced that I am back in it for the long haul. My strength is in my distances and now after watching this I’m ready to rebuild. Thanks for making this film.
We really need a Rossumentary in this style of videography. Going back to the very beginning. The Worlds Fittest book feats all summed up with interviews and footage. And another tour!!! 👌🏻
What a legend Ross is, and a lovely lad to boot. Whenever I do any tough runs, I always have Ross podcasts on the go motivating me forward. Amazing human.
Watched the swim around the UK a few years ago and loved it. I recently swam lengths in the pool for the first time in many years and let me tell you I was dying. Love the story about the struggle, that’s what life’s all about
What an incredible human you are Ross. An inspiration to so many and you are always so positive. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us all. Look forward to hearing where the next challenge is.
Just Wow! Great cinematography, great subject. Motivational, endearing, inspiring, relatable, fear, pain, happiness, sadness, nervousness, anxiety, tranquility and curiousity. It's all present and ALIVE in you and your work. Very touching. I have a few more things I can add to my toolbelt of life improvements now. Thanks Ross.
I honestly think Ross is one of the greatest endurance athletes to ever live, his mindset is truly fantastic, he's our British Goggins!!! He is up there with Scott Jurek, Mark Allen etc in terms of amazing feats of endurance..... 🙏
That's because you don't know what you're talking about and have been fooled as such. His swims are extremely average, especially the "world's longest swim" - which was both an obfuscation of the truth and a huge grift.
What an insane production! And Ross, although I have heard his name and record attempts many times it's the first time hearing him speak. What an inspiring and likeable bloke!
I grew up over the past 25 years in california and there was a woman that would swim the entire Pismo coast and every now and again id visit the pier id see and happen to see her. I read about her being eaten by a shark a couple years back now, it was tragic. Felt so bad for her, as a child I always admired her bravery and was left inspired by her. This world is brutal.
I love to love this guy. Always smiles and nice to everyone. Ive been watching everything he posts for a few years now. In case youre reading this Ross thank u for the inspiration!✊🏼🤍
I cant think of any other athlete nearly as positive, happy, and generally all round legend material. Such a humble guy, great to follow along on his missions!
He has the perfect physique, perfect attitude, and he seems like a genuinely good human being. I hope the best for him and that he's always safe 🙏🏽 good luck with everything you do 🎉
It's stated at the beginning that taking such extreme challenges makes you a worse friend and family member, which makes me ask, why even do it? What's the point of risking one's life at the cost of relationships or orphaning children just to beat some challenge that brings absolutely no benefit to humanity or the closest family? I really hope that someone can explain it to me in the comments, because I've been asking myself these questions every time I learned some daredevil died trying some extreme challenge and the only answer that was coming to my mind was just their selfishness. One could say it's to inspire others, but is that really the primary motivation of those daredevils or is it just adrenaline addiction or a type of workaholism?
Well it goes back to what he says at the end of the video “the struggle alone is enough to fills a man’s heart If ever one was made to value the same things nothing new would ever come to be If you look at most genuines in history most of them were loners Because they were in love with there work If a person like him finds happiness in what he does then who are we to tell him not to be happy. And there for it makes you selfish for wanting to take away someone else’s happiness.
Lago Trasimeno too hot, Loch Ness too cold - have you ever considered Lake Balaton? Hungarian fans would be thrilled if we can support your next challenge in any sense!
Sitting here dealing with depression, beeing burnt out for years(creds to worlds best psycologist), makes my problems feel like nothing.. Insprirational for sure, and tomorrow ill go swim in the lake by my moms cabin(Norway), so it is gonna be cold. Keep making these videos, and thank you, Ross!
Every video where he does this kind of stuff, motivates 1000s to push themselves and be better version of themselves. And do all of that with a smile and humbleness. Amazing human. 🫡
Awesome video Ross, always inspiring for me personally seeing the challenges that you put yourself forward for. Come and have a swim down at Belvoir Tri Club with us in Grantham sometime ❤
Ross gets nowhere near the recognition he deserves. Absolute savage, scholar, athlete and truly stand-up guy with impeccable character. Given the lack of strong male role models today the fact that he isn't as widely known/celebrated as the likes of Goggins, Jocko etc is criminal. I look forward to the day when he makes the global impact he's more than capable of making.
Watching this made me think of Maarten van der Weijden (Olympic gold marathon swimmer in 2008) who swam the 11stedentocht (eleven city swim), that’s around 195km. First time he didn’t succeed but the second time he did in little over 72 hours, and did a triathlon version of it a few year later, both to collect money for cancer research. It’s amazing how much some can do when having a goal and wanting to achieve it. Conditions from Ross and Maarten were completely different, but both are nuts if you ask me. Most people probably thought neither would make it, but impossible isn’t in some peoples dictionaries 😅.
This is amazing but so confused on the storyline?? What happened in Loch Ness? What was the record? The whole imagery, editing, sound etc. was so well produced and cutaways to different people giving their perspective views were great. But very little context? Can someone explain?
@RossEdgley - Legend! You don't make it easy on yourself, too cold, too hot, hahaha. Need somewhere in the middle to try next time. Can't wait to see the next attempt!! Perhaps next time you can wear some monitoring equipment, so your body can be closely monitored from the boat?
I'm having trouble understanding why would anyone put their selves through this. I mean he is not a legend, he is not a hero, he is just a simple man who has a dumb idea that he could do this. I mean its like, if he had an idea to stick a fork in an electrical socket he will, a dumb idea but its an idea he could do. I mean this is what he wants to be remembered for and that's cool. But in reality, when all said and done, no one will care and most people will move on to more cat videos. would he do this again? would he want to do this again? It's cool what he is doing cause it makes for a good UA-cam video, but again its just something "he" would do. Good job on surviving through this.
Just wanted to say the BIGGEST thank you to the Gymshark team! Absolute HEROICS from them to produce this!!
We leave the heroics to you.
Just glad we could tell the story.
Hi Ross, I play cricket, can you help me out with a gym workout plan?
Can't wait for part 2!! Go Ross and Gymshark!!!
Good decision to stop where you did. I was in Albania at this time & heat was unreal. Look forward to watching your next challenge 👏🏼💪🏼
I’m 100% convinced the end sequence about the myth of Sisyphus will have a great impact on a lot of people who are struggling in life and see it.

Absolute legend of a human. No other words to describe him to be honest.
Always positive in the face of adversity.

"Human" If it turned out that he was actually an alien I wouldnt even be surprised.
Gymshark is lucky to have Ross. What an amazing athlete. You can't help but respect for what he's done and is continuing to do.

Thank you, Ross.

Ross the human Labrador, everything done with a smile. Amazingly inspiring and love to see his brave, heroic adventures ❤

Incredibly insprirational. Ross is an absolute warrior. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment or attempt, no doubt soon!
👏👏
A warrior goes to war.
Absolute cinematic masterpiece, Ross you are incredible!! And a role model for us all ❤
❤❤ HUGELY appreciate this brother!!
Nah, takes way too long to get to the point. Editors spent way too long circle jerking and forgot to actually tell the story.
The struggle alone is enough to fill a mans heart. That resonates with me so much.
The look 'Behind the Scenes or Seams' for this is insane. Followed Ross for a while now and he's just an incredible human.
Beautiful story. The irony of going from hypothermic temps to a freak heatwave is mad!! But the story is in the struggle and Ross' ability to keep pushing forward
Hypothermic with a wetsuit 🙄😂

Beautiful production! Kudos to all involved! I LOVED the ending of this clip Ross!
Massively appreciate this brother and yes, LOVE that Camus quote/story 👊💯
48 was the air temperature, and 33 the water temperature...like ross said on social media
❤❤
This dont diminish the risk and effort of his attempt
yeah, i was thinking it's impossible it'd be anywhere near 40.
so how is that boiled alive??.....water boils at 100c not 48 or 33 lmfao....
