Love this! As someone who struggles with ocd thoughts this is a big comfort. I am currently studying about mental health and can’t wait to help those who need it ! Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much Brooke! I too have found that learning more about mental health helps to make what we are struggling with less intimidating and scary. God bless!
My brother, we must be living the same life… I was raised Catholic then became Protestant, and I just recently chose to become celibate for Christ (as I have SSA). I also struggle with OCD. Thank you so much for your videos, and for your incredible and faithful presentation of the Gospel.
I experienced the same fear at 19 or 20 while in the Navy. I’d walk around feeling dread much of the time. To top it off I went to a church where they laid hands on me to be baptized with the Holy Ghost to speak in tongues; I couldn’t and it was the worst experience I ever had in a church. Thank God he brought me through those awful times spiritually to today with greater understanding in the true simplicity of the gospel and knowing Jesus will never lose me. Satan takes massive delight in torturing uneducated believers over the possible blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. Thanks Jack for a great two parter talk, I’m glad you were shepherded by our Savior through that dark time too :)
I'm back to doubting my salvation again. Read 6 chapters of John yesterday, little bit of Ecclesiastes and Psalms and still struggling... it's really hard. I'm trying to enter in His rest but my flesh wants to be legalistic so bad...
Like it says in scripture, our flesh wars against our spirit. It reminds me of that verse where Paul cries out "who can save me from this body of death?" While our struggles here on Earth are VERY real, we know that we will not always be in this flesh. If you are struggling with doubt, I have found a helpful verse to be 2 Timothy 2:13. If we believe not yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself.
Thanks so much brother for this 2 part series. I listened intently to both. I am very embarrassed that until I subscribed to your channel, I had never heard of religious OCD. Even though I am approaching 400 years old, I can still learn new things...smiles. Listening to your experiences helps me to know to deal with compassion and sensitivity to anyone who struggles. As I told you once, I did go for counseling while at a Christian Service organization as I was told I was depressed. Sadly, I had to keep it quiet due to people's attitudes regarding such. It made me feel worse and less of a Christian. Jerkwagon...I like that word. Although my counselor scared me half to death with his first question (as I told you) it ended up being quite helpful to me. Brother, I have a lot on my plate right now, but I wanted to come in and say always know you have a friend who loves you and thanks the Lord for you.
Thank you so much brother. I totally agree that there is always something new to learn whatever it may be. Doesn't that make life more exciting also? Much love to you brother as well :) God bless!
That sounds like me. I stay in bed many days... Never experienced anything like this in my life. I don't exactly have support... It's hard. Yes WHY???? Condemnation. I understand this so much 🥺😥. Me...praying for a rapture dream. The thoughts.... 🥺.... I have retrusted Jesus a lot.
I understand Freya. Like I have said many times, God is with us even in the dark places. Though we may not "feel" God, our salvation is not based on our feelings.
Ok so i think my OCD was messed up and today I've had bunch of bad thoughts and confusion and feel if I said them but I haven't and I was getting on UA-cam and had a message saying Jesus wants to talk to you or something like that and said accept or reject and in my mind I said accept but at the same time I had reject in my head and I feel if I said it and I think I said it on purpose, what if I said it? I'm having a feeling that I did and I'm starting to feel isolated and starting to feel dead and I was upset and crying. Can someone help?
Hey I know what you are saying and I've gone through that exact same thing and I am so sorry that you are struggling with this. I want you to know, God loves you. And that no matter what you have done period, God loves you, his love in unconditional. Period. God loves you so much he would rather die than live without you, so in his Love he sent his Son Jesus Christ who was himself in the Flesh and Jesus lived a righteous sinless life in your place because he knew you couldn't do it, none of us can ever since Adam sinned we've all became sinners. I'm a sinner, your a sinner all of us are sinners but God still Loves us, so he came down to earth as Jesus Christ (the New Adam) the perfect Adam who was here to fulfill the law on our behalf, and then when he fulfilled his ministry he went to the cross and willing gave up his life, shed his precious blood (incorruptible) and he died on the cross in order to pay the penalty (Romans 6:23 = wages of sin is death) he died with you in mind he knew you before you were ever born, he created you and he died to save you, and his body was buried putting away the old crucified dead man in Adam, and then he Rose again from the dead! Giving us new life in Christ! Isn't that awesome and the only thing he wanted us to do is believe he did it for us. Do you believe Jesus died for your sins, do you accept the payment he made for you, do you believe in him and what he has done alone for you accomplished salvation? If you do, you are S,A,V,E,D Saved! And now won't you thank him for saving you? I hope this helps, God bless!
@@cfoles1 I feel if I'm in danger, I wasn't doing the right thing today and was having bad thoughts and started having tics and now I feel if I said them and i feel my heart hardened, don't feel ok anymore and starting to not repent of my sins.
