  • Finishing accessories―by far the most important part of decorating.
The accessories we display, their color and texture, abundance or restraint, similarity or variety, combine to establish a unique personality for each room. The way we put them together is art. Focusing on tablescapes, wall decorations, mantels, and fabrics, Charles shows not just the results, but the wonderful journey and process of giving a room its soul and identity.
Charles Faudree was named one of America’s top 100 designers. He maintains a retail shop and his Charles Faudree Collection of fabric is marketed through Vervain. He’s the author of four previous books published by Gibbs Smith. He lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jenifer Jordan has been a photographer of home interiors and architecture for more than 25 years. She has photographed all of Charles Faudree’s books and also Modern Country. She lives in Tulsa.

    So rich and satisfying.
Nothing seems too precious to be used or examined.
    A lot to enjoy.

Thank you for showing Charles Faudree. My wife bought all his books. We like him a lot. After him we found James T. Farmer and we like him too. Looking forward to his new book tomorrow!!!

My two personal favorites, French Interiors & gracful Southern Charm...
Charlie Faudree's designs were the epitome of both!
Mr.Faudree was the quintessential master, at the Art of Layering...
In the south...More layers, are always Better! And Yes, tassels, Toile and needlepoint pillows are an absolute must! They're timeless details, that create that graceful Southern Charm!
Carles Faudree, with his attention to "Details" has always been high on my list of favorite Designers. His approach to Design and Layering are timeless and treasured... Thanks for another Lovely review!

While at a garage sale once I hit the jackpot! The people had just bought a home in Tulsa that Charles Faudree had decorated. I got full length blue & cream stripped silk curtains with the beautiful fringe & valance for over the bed for $50 complete!! They were remodeling the room for their teenaged son & the drapery wouldn’t work. I felt like I’d won the lottery! I have several of Charles’s books & have to get this one now to add to my collection. He’s a true inspiration.

Charles Faudree was/is my all time favorite designer. I was saddened by his passing. No other designer had the unique talent of loading a room with pattern, texture and objects without it seeming cluttered. His rooms always appeared comfortable and lived in unlike the boring all white minimalist chippy farmhouse ugliness we have been forced to endure in recent years. The world lost a great designer. Thank goodness he left us with a remarkable legacy. His books are my go to for inspiration. Let's not forget the stunning photography by Jennifer Jordan who made it all come to life.

I especially loved this video, as I do love the mix of both the feminine and masculine styles of French furniture! And I love the way you end each of your videos, by opening each book showcased and thumbing the pages to the beginning, then lovingly flipping the book over, and lovingly drawing your hand downward, giving another quick glimpse of your gorgeous jewelry, as the video ends! My mother passed onto me her love of books, as well as her love of interior design! This video has been a pleasure---you introduced me to a designer I was unfamiliar with, and I want to add this book to my library! Thank You, so much!

In all honesty this designers taste is leaning towards English decor rather than French. Done beautifully!

Charles love was French Country but he often shopped London for what he referred to as smalls to use for accessorizing tabletops and chests.

Faudree is an absolute favorite! The top two things he inspired me to use in my homes is the use of animal art, animal decor and leopard print. Adding those items to any colors or fabrics always made me feel like I was co-creating with Charles! Love going through this book again. Thank you!

Yes- his use of “smalls”, as he referred to them, were trinkets, collections or little treasures that he placed on shelves or tables; this still inspires me. His masterful placement of accessories spoke to the collector in me. I miss his Christmas designs that were so often featured in Traditional Home Magazine.

Funy thing in that entrance the fabric on the console table. I bought the same fabric from the US ( I am in France) after falling in love with it. I didn't order enough so had to go back and get some more, the lady was so nice. I have now changed my mind and it is going either onto the second floor landing or the second sitting room snug. Time will tell ! You have some gorgeous fabrics in the US and the prices are so much better than in Europe despite the postage. I have several lengths of gorgeous fabrics from the US. Lovely vlog again xxxx

Great designer/ decorator. As the book is titled, each shot is very detailed and busy. To me your choice of music is busy audibly detailed as well which seemed in constant competition and overwhelming. Maybe when showing a layered busy decor pair it with calm music that compliments what you are showing. I do love your channel and I don't want to mute you, LOL.

I purchased this beautiful book while in New Orleans. It suffered water damage during a coastal storm, although I still have it, it’s too damaged for a quality presentation on YT. ☹️
