Mina--right there with you! I'm 61 and totally addicted to watching these young people discover the incredible music I listened to while doing my homework (or just hanging out) as a teen in the 70's. Oh, the memories, as well!
I swear I spend hours every Friday Saturday and Sunday nights just going through watching reaction videos. ! LOL I never would have guessed this would have been something for me. But it brings me so much joy. And this particular song is one I search for reactions too. So beautiful. And I think I'm a new fan of this guy.
Your wonderful smile told me how you felt, I didn't need to wait for your wrap-up, I did anyway, I wanted to hear your take on the song! Like I said I could see how it made you feel! Great reaction!
I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with !!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️
The Bee Gees were one of the most successfully commercial groups of all time. They were prolific song writers. Writing hundreds of songs not only for themselves but for many famous artists. The Bee Gees held diffrent records for consecutive number one hits and longest hits at number one. The brothers had the best falsetto's. No auto tune! Great hair. Barry was every girls dream. Those were the days when songs were sung to girls, not at girls. Music and lyrics had true meaning. No need for overt gratuitous gestures or language. Just great writing, great vocals and great performances from 4 great brothers. RIP Robin, Maurice, Andy
In March 1978, the Bee Gees held the top two positions on the US charts with "Night Fever" and "Stayin' Alive", the first time this had happened since the Beatles. On the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for 25 March 1978, three songs were in the top 3 were Gibb compositions, five songs in total written by the Gibbs were in the US top 10 at the same time: #1. "Night Fever", #2. "Stayin' Alive", #3. "Emotion" and #6. "Love Is Thicker Than Water", #9."If I Can't Have You". Not since April 1964, when the Beatles had all five of the top five American singles, had anyone else achieved this feat.
BArry is still alive. He has lost all three of his brothers. He was a master songwriter. He had the top three songs on the Billboard charts at the same time. One they sang and the other two were recorded by other artist.
They have been around for 5 decades. They donated the proceeds from this song to UNICEF . Barry ( the middle one) is the oldest and the only one left alive. He is a prolific song writer and has written songs for , to name a few... Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand---in fact Barry and her Wong a Grammy for a duet they did one one of his songs " guilty".
They had thier first song 1958 ! Think about the long trip to now. They are the greatest rock and roll band and many genres of music of all time. Beating the Beatles in hits and music in general. Oh btw I'm a big fan.....LOL ! Thank You ! for being one of the very few reaction people that let the whole song play and then giving your reaction.
As a songwriter, Barry Gibb shares with John Lennon and Paul McCartney the record for consecutive Billboard Hot 100 number ones, each having six. In total, he has written or co-written sixteen Billboard Hot 100 number ones. Guinness World Records lists Barry Gibb as the second most successful songwriter in history, behind Paul McCartney.
Brothers. They began singing together at home as kids in the 50's, then began performing in public occasionally throughout the early 60's. In the mid 60's through the 70's they were recording, but the movie "Saturday Night Fever" really put them on the map and the top of the music charts.
The group the Bee Gees were brother's. All 3 brother's have falsetto range which made them that more talented. The Bee Gees have been recording as a group since the early 60's. The group became even more popular in the 70's. Their music could easily stand up today in rotation on any R&B or Soft Rock Radio station. Sadly Barry Gibb the lead singer is the only brother still alive. The youngest brother Andy Gibb not in the group, but a great solo artist in his own right passed away first. Maurice Gibb passed away then Robin Gibb passed away leaving only Barry.
They are songwriters first n formost...wrote thousands of hit songs...humble n kind..British group...luv our fab BGs ,,,the twins are gone now..but very missed❤Barry I the only one left❤
@@vrvaughn - Robin was cool because he didn't care if he was cool. He was smart, witty and eccentric and the VOICE! He had millions of fans too. So did Mo. Barry was the bottom of my list of the brothers.
It’s so very nice to hear the entire song, watch your reactions and hear your comments. Interruptions are such a distraction-the beauty, the impact becomes lost. Thank you!
I think the most impressive part of their singing is the way they use vibrato in unison. Incredible! They must have practiced for years to gain that level of being in sync with each other!
I second this! An amazing song, also “Fanny be tender(with my love”! Musically both are SO well arranged it is incredible! However, nearly ALL of their tunes are so well written though.
Check out “Fanny be tender(with my love”, and as others have suggested “Nights on Broadway” BOTH are just incredibly written and arranged! You have a LONG ride though, they have SO many amazing songs to chose from! Barry & Robin were very prolific song writers; they wrote songs across nearly ALL genres of music R&B, Pop, Rock, Disco, AND country music!
It's like they invented harmony. Live band, no auto tune, no computerized voice enhancement and one mic for all three of them. Back then (1979). singing was just pure, raw talent. By the date of this recording, the BeeGees had already been singing together professionally for 21 years when Barry was 12 years old and the twins were just 9. All of the Gibb brothers including little brother, Andy, could sing in that amazing falsetto voice. But Barry was the master. He was able to exorcise more control over it. The Gibbs were, in my opinion, the most multi-talented families in music history. They wrote their own songs as well as writing songs for many other musical greats. This song was included on a compilation album to benefit UNICEF. There were many artists who recorded songs on the album, but the BeeGees gave all the royalties from this song in any form. In, at that time, an unprecedented move, they also gave UNICEF the publishing rights to Too Much Heaven. To date, Too Much Heaven has raised over 11 million dollars for UNICEF. In 1967, they wrote a song called To Love Somebody which appeared on their third album titled BeeGees 1st, but their first internationally, as the first two albums were only released in Australia. BeeGees 1st was released in July '67. Otis Redding was set to record To Love Somebody on his next album. Sadly, Otis was killed in a plane crash, Dec 10,1967. I thought for the longest time that they didn't record it themselves until after the death of Otis Redding. Their brother Andy Gibb had a very successful solo career as well until his death on March 10,1988. Just 5 days after turning 30. Andy had developed myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, which was brought on by a viral infection While most people recover from myocarditis, Andy's body was unable to fight the infection due to his history of drug use. Soo sad!
Thank you for letting the whole video play before you say anything..I was in love with their brother Andy !! You should listen to him also. And yes Barry is hot also!! Love them ♥️

The Bee Gees catalog is a huge rabbit hole. Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, Hip-Hop, Disco.....so versatile.
They were unbelievable songwriters. Prolific and such masters of melody. They don't get the credit in this area that they deserve.
