BeeGees are the greatest singers/songwriters in the world. No. Not just a disco group. Barry (the oldest brother) would get pissed when anybody referred them by that title. They wrote over 1000 songs. They started singing in 1958. (Just small boys than Barry 9 and twin Robin & Maurice were 6). They have hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even into 2000. Barry is the bearded one with the beautiful teeth. Fraternal twins Robin and Maurice are the other 2. Robin is on the left. Mo on right. pure talent no audio help no retakes pure talent. there is a 4th brother Andy Gibbs he sang with the other 3 brothers in YOU SHOULD BE DANCING check it out
This song is amazing, it was actually done for charity, all proceeds go to unicef and when they did it live they didn't have any idea how much of a hit it would become! Simply beautiful music!!
Yes! The Bee Gees actually gave the rights to the song, including all proceeds in perpetuity, to UNICEF. That was unheard of, giving up all rights to a song. They wrote this song in a single afternoon and performed this video in a single take, with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. They were musical geniuses, doing things with 3 part harmonies the world had never seen. The genres their music covers is vast and every bit worth seeking out.
I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978! This would have been one of my wedding songs. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 67 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. He left behind his wife, Yvonne and two children. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry Gibb (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who turned 78, January 12, 2022. Maurice passed on the same day as her 58th birthday. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. At about the age of 2, Barry reached on the table and a pot of hot tea fell on his chest and arms. You can see the shine on his chest. His mom said he did not talk for almost 2 yrs. Skin grafts were not used in the 40s, so he was in the hospital for a long time. His mom said he almost died. They wrote all of their songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs: Staying Alive ua-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/v-deo.html How Deep Is Your Love? ua-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/v-deo.html Closer Than Close ua-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/v-deo.html One ua-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/v-deo.html You Win Again ua-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/v-deo.html Spirits (Having Flown) ua-cam.com/video/ONmVEJnxysc/v-deo.html Bodyguard ua-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/v-deo.html Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) ua-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/v-deo.html (Destiny's Child did a cover) Jive Talking ua-cam.com/video/oALKAh_bL5g/v-deo.html At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2! Barry has since released a CD titled: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook (Vol. 1). (January 2021) It has more of a country sound. It includes other artists singing the brothers' songs. As they moved into the 80s and beyond, they wrote and produced songs for other artists. Here is a favorite written by them, for their younger brother Andy. Our Love (Don't Throw It All Away) ua-cam.com/video/flF5aU1iZFo/v-deo.htmlt
Ok just picked myself up off the floor...lol What a love song! Barry is still married to the same woman today. They other two are his twin brothers Maurice and Robyn. They are Aussie legends. They have written for so many artists like Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Celine Deon, and so many more. They also wrote the sound track for Saturday Night Fever. So I look forward to more of The Bee Gee's my friend
Lead singer Barry Gibb is one of the greatest pop songwriters in history. He’s written for his group- countless hits- and for many others like Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand and more!
@@susanhunter7124 - Yes, Barry gets credit for everything. Robin in particular wrote 90+% of their songs as well as those for other stars and Maurice also wrote many with his brothers. Robin also sang many of their leads and had an amazing voice. The songs for Streisand, Celine Dion, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Dolly Parton were ALL co written by Barry AND Robin, not just Barry.
Heartbreaker is incredible. Barry wrote it and wanted Dionne Warwick to sing it. He had to talk her into doing it. I believe it to be his best lyrically.
He's the greatest living pensioner in my eyes ....wrote and sang most of the soundtrack of my life ....didn't realize this until lately or just how brilliant he and his brothers were...
The Bee Gees are great. They have thousands of songs (some they wrote for other singers) and had songs through decades and different genres. No autotune just pure talent.
Besides the pure joy of their voices and their harmonies, my second favorite part is Barry looking like he is in heaven singing the song too much Heaven!
Loved your reaction so much! 40 plus years of hits. The Brothers Gibb were amazing. How Deep is your Love, Staying Alive, Nights on Broadway, More than a woman, Fanny be tender with my love, Night Fever, Jive Talking...you won't run out anytime soon.
I loved your reaction. It does my heart good to see someone listen to this song for the first time. Their songs just touch your soul. Barry’s falsetto is incredible and with so much emotion. Please react to Love you inside out, Reaching out, Love so right, thank you.
This was the one and only studio recording of the song. It landed on the album after this particular take. Perfection is all they needed right! Barry Gibbs 75 this year and still going strong. He was just recently inducted into the country music Hall of Fame here in the United States. People don’t know usually that he and his brothers wrote music across all genres. They have written over 1000 songs for themselves, for people like Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Celine Dion etc. etc. Cetera. They are truly a gift from heaven

Barry has a huge voice range. He has a deeper chest voice, the falsetto ( head voice) was discovered in the 70’s and was featured in most of the songs from that period. Check out To Love Somebody ( 1967) version, Alone, Wedding Day, Night Fever, Nights on Broadway ( the midnight special version). I could go on and on, but that should get you started.
This is my first time sitting in with you, thank you for allowing me to do that! Great reaction to this wonderful song! The Bee Gees never miss! Looks like you've been hooked on the line just like everyone else! Great song to react to and it was a fabulous reaction! Thank you young man!
The song Too Much Heaven is from the Bee Gee's live performance at The Music for UNICEF Concert: A Gift of Song. It was a benefit concert of popular music held in the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on January 9, 1979. It was intended to raise money for UNICEF world hunger programs and to mark the beginning of the International Year of the Child. The concert was videotaped and broadcast the following day on NBC in the U.S. and around the world. The Bee Gees gave UNICEF rights to all royalties from the song. It's raised about $13 Million for UNICEF thus far.
I subbed because of your fantastic reaction to this absolutely beautiful song. I have been a fan of the Bee Gees since I was 14 and saw them sing Words on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1968. I just turned 68 and still listen to them every single day. They are the soundtrack of my life. Love love love the Bee Gees. So, so many songs for you to react to here. It is a deep rabbit hole you are about to enter. Thanks for the great reaction!
Beautiful song. One of my favorites. Barry's voice is unbelievable. What they 1st started singing, Robin sang most of the lead vocals. Barry didn't become the lead til later, around the 70s. One of producers or someone like that heard Barry's falsetto for the 1st time. Robin had left the band for awhile but eventually came back. They wrote songs for so many other artists including their brother Andy. If you want to hear something more upbeat react to Night Fever or Tragedy

I don't know if you know this they have only recorded their own music and written for music for celine, barbara dolly and kenny rogers and so much more. THe biggest fact is that not one of them can read or write music. They had such a unique way of writing the music and vocals. Maurice in my opinion was the most talented of the brothers. He does not sing many leads but he does all the instrumentals on all of the songs. When they reunited back in 69 (I believe) they wrote their first two number one hits in one afternoon. Lonely Days and HOw to mend a broken heart. They wrote a song for Otis Redding that he was never able to perform because he died before singing it. So they sang it and its amazing. Black music was a powerful influence in their music Please keep checking them out and go deep not just Saturday night fever. They also have a brother Andy who had his first 3 hits go to number one. Of course written by his famous brothers.
You should review a LOT more Bee Gees. And then when you've done that, check out the Dee Gees... the Foo Fighters covering Bee Gees. It's amazing. Enjoy your journey into the Bee Gees. They are a gift to humanity.
