- Doing a Thanksgiving Day Shave with the Rex Ambassador Safety Razor. This is the first time that I’m using this razor, that has been requested many times by you viewers for me to try.
Introduced in 2017 and went through 3 main iterations.
Original (pre sale with square lather holes and thinner guard)
Modified (was called too aggressive)
Final (got a new machine shop and everything really came together.)

I got a Rockwell Model T for Christmas and it was a lemon. The blade wouldn’t stay squarely in the head, and would shift during the shave. It cut me a few times and finally I had enough. I contacted them and their customer service wasn’t great. I won’t be buying another Rockwell product.
I contacted the store, Murphy and McNeil, and they were great. Amazing customer service. They are taking back the Rockwell, and giving me full credit towards a Rex Ambassador. I cannot wait.

Stay safe and stay healthy, Covid19 is no joke at all, my wife works as a nurse in the University Hospital here in Hamburg and she has daily cases of people suffering from it. Some mild but very often severe illness. Dont know what makes people think it's a hoax! People dieing all over the world, daily. And with preconditions like we got, I'm better careful than sorry. I am thankful I have found your channel, It has given me inspiration to get into wet shaving. I have thick hair and super sensitive skin... and my neck hair grain goes towards the back of my neck parting along the front... AKA the nightmare shave. I have basically had to choose between full beard or ingrown hairs. I tried every cartridge and electric razor nothing worked. Thanks to you and a couple of other youtubers I decided to try to wet shave. I literally just started this week so fingers crossed. Thanks for letting us in on your shaves and rants. I've owned the Rex for over a year now and its up there with my favourite razors. The grip on its handle is insane, theres no way in hell that you could have it slip through the fingers. You can certainly feel the precision and the extremely high build quality when shaving with it, as there's not a hint of any blade chatter. Stay safe to you and your family.

My first real razor was the DE89, it's a great starter razor, you won't be let down.
My favorite blade in that razor is the Gillette 7 o'clock black.

Take in as much advice as you can. When you get the odd nick or rough shave, don't loose heart. It will get much better quickly!
I have this razor and the adjustable version. Both are superb and give excellent shaves. You can't buy better razors than the Envoy and Ambassador

Happy belated Thanksgiving Ken! I think you summed it up in the top notch quality of the razor which far exceeds the Pearl. Aggressive razor for sure, but it works perfectly for me at 1.5 and below. If I had to give away all my razors except one, this is the one I would keep. That's says it all for me. Good laugh as well today too! "They're out there plotting against me." @@kensurfs the Rex Ambassador is a fantastic razor. I just love mine. It is also an heirloom piece. However, the Muhle R89 can also be a heirloom piece.
Nicely done Ken💈💈 Good idea with the Ambassador to start low and adjust up as needed. Being that it is "infinitely" adjustable, you can go anywhere on the dial to find the exact feel you want. Blade choice with this razor is also important, a little experimentation will pay off. If you give this one away, I almost bet you buy one to keep. Heirloom quality for sure as is the Envoy three piece also from REX. I'm not affiliated with, nor compensated by REX. It's the only stainless steel, machined, made entirely in the USA, infinitely adjustable razor. That speaks for itself. Yep, $250 and worth it. Great video as always. Enjoy!

I actually own a Rex Ambassador and I bought it brand new from Razor Emporium for only $174.30 around this time last year! It was one of those Black Friday specials if you used the discount on their website. I originally didn't want to pay that much for a safety razor, but I like American made stuff that's built to last until after I'm gone. I cracked up when you mentioned that you're not dating anybody anymore. Fantastic shave video as usual!

I truly love my Rex Ambassador, best razor I ever bought! My Ambassador was also inspected by DJ. I get very smooth shaves with my Ambassador, but it does make you insure you keep your face moist and slick with lather. Its 3.7 ounces of 316L stainless steel, that is sexy as hell. Thanksgiving can be a crazy time for families. I like all your movie knowledge BTW.

Nice shave. I like the Rex, but I have three vintage Gillette adjustable razors. Much joy to you and your family. Covid is not a hoax, my granddaughter had it. I was a deputy sheriff for 33 years, my daughter is a Nurse, my son-in-law a fire/medic. The big fear years ago was Hepatitis working around prisoners, arrestees and homeless. There are always health risks and not taking them seriously is just foolish. Blessings and good health to all.
My son and I tested negative yesterday but my wife and daughter tested positive with cold like symptoms, no fevers. My son an I moved onto a hotel down the street to be safe.🙏🙏

How many of us in the wet shaving community could say that we bought one razor and stuck with it for the rest of our life lol? We started with a Merkur, and then made it two, then got a Muhle, but that vintage fatboy looked so good, and who could say no to the open comb? The fatips are all brass, and the schick krona is a classic. The Rex looks nice, and here we are, 50 razors in our den and counting. 😊

Great shave. I don’t have any razors I would use for pretty much forever. I’m eyeing on higher-end ones like the Rockwell 6S or Rex Ambassador, and when I get rich and buy one of them, I’ll see if one becomes the only razor to use for the rest of my life. The Stirling Lemon Chill is what I’m also targeting for when I buy Stirling soaps in the near future

That cost me $28 on Amazon.
The Rex Ambassador online at Razor Emporium is priced at $249...
That's pricey on my budget, but that razor shaved well and I actually like it...

38c was my very first DE razor. Shaved with it yesterday in fact. For me the REX shaves much nicer, but I still enjoy the 38c in my rotation. Buy it now while it's $74 off, you won't regret it.

Thanks for the review Ken. I brought myself the envoy about a year ago and although its a marvelous piece of engineering wish I'd purchased the ambassador just to enable me to easy off in the aggression slightly. I find the envoy just a tad too much for me probably similar to a 3 on the ambassador or a c plate on the karve. I'll have go at your give away when it comes!
