I finally got it tuned last Saturday same set up as you except I have kooks 1 7/8 and no electric w/p
Did 466/406 .... Really happy as always with Shauns work
This hands down had been the biggest help for me as in looking to have about the same setup. You hit the nail on the head of cj intake comparison numbers
red5oh88
Glad you benefited from this, good luck on your setup and thanks !
red5oh88 Good call! People bash these intakes because they just look at peak numbers, they fail to see that the motor reaches peak hp around the same spot as stock intake but the power never drops off, meaning that when you shift into the next gear, your already at peak power and stay there for the whole gear.. well worth the money imo! The power curve was still flat at 8k in this vid, the difference between cj and boss is that power starts to drop off at 7500 on boss. I have a 15 and im patiently waiting for the 2015+ version manifold. If you put a cj or boss on a 15 it wont fit under hood and you lose alot of power under 6000 since the 15 intake is better at low and mid range than the 11-14 so you have to make a decent sacrifice if you try to use the 11-14 boss/cj.
Mazen416 Did you swap in electric water pump because of concerns about stock water pump handling the rpm?
I agree with you regarding the CJ. I swapped the E-WP to add some cooling & power. People claim it adds about 10RWHP, I don't if that's true or not, but know that my car is very consistent even when I make runs back to back, which wasn't very common before the E-WP.
Dude that’s some incredible shifting
Sooo...I'm an LS guy of 14 years, and I just shat myself during this vid. 8k rpm in a SBE Mustang. I don't know where I am right now...those dyno curves are damn near faultless. And it broke 450whp on crappy 91 octane! Very cool stuff. [thumbs up] Any track vids?
Michael Seabrooke I am like chevy too, but the coyote is awesome and no one can deny that. I have a lot of track videos, check out my channel !! thanks
Mazen416 So it's been awhile since I bought my 2014 5.0. I've added a lethal xpipe and AED 93 oct tune. I'm about to order the same cobra jet intake setup that you have right now. Will my stock clutch be ok for awhile revving it like you are? Any problems with your car at all?
Mazen416 I'm torn as well on the manis. People swear the CJ isn't worth the price over the Boss.... I'd need a new CAI as well, wouldn't I? My Air Raid may not fit the CJ as it would the Boss.
It's whatever appeals to you. Some people think that anything you put in a car isn't worth the money. Yes, you'd need a new CAI & TB.
BlackWhiteBeast The stock clutch isn't going to like high RMP shifts. It would be ideal to replace it along with a steel clutch line.
That's wild. I was thinking of doing the same with my 2011 gt cs but I'm torn between the boss manifold and the cj. Very impressed with the numbers your car put down
CJ FTW
Those are great numbers. A ported Cobra jet is no doubt in my cars future unless I am able to afford a 16 GT350 which is pretty unlikely at the moment. My goal is for my car to make as much horsepower as the incoming GT350. I am thinking cobrajet set up, and long tube headers should do the trick. Right now I just have a tune and axle backs, but the increase in horsepower is there but it's getting old. I need more power hehe
awesome car, well balanced. Would you recommend the electric water pump for a daily driver? Were there any odd cooling issues with yours?
Ideas love the car and your video..👍
Need help. Thinking about cobra jet on my 13 and want to know where the porting was done
Impressive numbers. Hate to sound dumb, but what's the point of the upgraded water pump
What all do you have to change when you get the Cobra jet setup?
Did you ever have any oil pump gear problems with this setup?
Impressive shifting!
Thanks :)
Very nice . OPGs stock ? I sent my CJ to Shaun last week to port and I'll be taking the car up there to get the RST installed in a couple of months and another dyno tune on the CJ . Can't wait
Rodrigo Yanez
Thanks man, honestly I don't know what mean by "OPGs", but Shaun does awesome work. Make sure you share your results, you're going to enjoy the car a lot more :)
What kind of air filter u have in there
Love the sound and the setup. Any chance you can tell us where you got the custom axle back made from? I love the tone of your cars exhaust.
Thanks man, the axle back is from X-force, it is an australian company, but this is a special order. One of their dealers is located in the middle east, and he basically sent them a design and they made it upon his request. So, I actually bought the axle back from this dealer and I had it sent from the middle east to the U.S. I know that sounds complicated :P but I am very happy with it and its worth it to me (it's is such a sleeper car btw). I'll probably post a video soon about my axle back, so stay tuned.
Thanks bro! the dealer's IG: JHP_ME look him up, I believe he has a youtube channel as well! get in touch with him and see if has an axle back for your car. Your car looks and sounds sick! Good luck!
Pretty sick
Very awesome, did your stock throttle body bolts fit your gt500 throttle body? If not, would you happen to remember what size bolts you used for your new throttle body?
Brenton Hobson
Thanks man, I am sorry I don't really recall :P I'm sure if you ask someone that installed it "himself", he'd be able to tell you.
What tac is that?
where can i get that intake
Why the electric water pump ?
dude what kind of times are you putting down? I'm doing the same thing this spring, so glad I switched to coyote from an l99/ls3.
I ran a best of 10.90 in the 1/4 mile, check out the videos on my channel
I have a 2016 I'm pretty much full bolts on minus intake manifold and fuel injectors. That's pretty good numbers for 91 especially since I only got 91 where I'm at . Is the flex fuel tune just a mixture of half e85 and 91 ? Interested in that flex fuel since I only have 91 and luckily I have 1 e85 pump close to me. I think I wanna do this manifold , clutch, and OPG with 2 step would be an awesome combo , can't afford boost yet lol.
No, its full e85... I actually drain out the fuel tank when I intend on switching to e85
Mazen416 oh ok so it's full e85 but when you go back to normal driving you just put 91 . So do you only use e-85 when you know you're gonna go to the track or race?
Hey man thinking of the same set up? Just a couple questions. Where did you buy ur parts for CJ intake and does it feel ALOT quicker than the factory manifold?
There is so many online stores that sell the CJ intake manifold along with the CJ TB, try to find the best deal. As far as the air intake goes it was custom built by a guy on the internet. He builds them based on orders, if you are interested I can give you his info. But, RevAuto performance makes a 5 inch intake as well as Ford Racing...
Thanks man, does it pull a lot harder than stock manifold?
yes, my friend the difference is noticeable ...
Hey I'm thinking of getting this for my 13' auto, but my car is a daily driver so I was wondering if the CJ IM has caused you any problems and if you recommend it for a daily driver. I'm planning on getting it with the CAI, tune, GT500 TB, an after cat H-pipe, and shorty headers....let me know what you think!
Hey, the CJ IM is awesome and my car is actually a daily driver. I drive this car everyday and I have no issues. But I've had issues with the TB for like the first 3 days after the installation and then it fixed itself. I am using the SCJ TB, some of these TB are bad, but you would get better results over any TB. If you decide to go with the CJ TB I'd highly suggest that you buy it from SUMMIT RACING because they have a good returning a policy that allows to return any item within 30 days no question asked. You might have no issues what so ever though! I think you should get LT's instead of shorty headers!! and I personally like the X-pipe style over the H. Good luck with your stang! ya Tarek
Mazen416 Thanks for the reply I really appreciate it...Not that many people run the CJ IM setup so I try to get as much feedback as possible...sounds really good though!
Tarek El-Hajjaoui You should check out it my latest video at the track! You're welcome buddy anytime
Mazen416 Wow that's insane you almost got into the 10s! I love the idea of how its still naturally aspirated too
Hey man...I'm really looking in to getting the CJ set up with revauto 5" CAI&revauto tune...how do u like the CJ over stock.. Let me know man thanks...
The CJ intake is great and it's a lot better than the stock one .. performance wise and obviously appearance wise. I personally don't have any drivability issues! Just make sure you don't get a bad TB, or at least know what the policy is before purchasing. Some of the ford racing tb's are bad and don't function as they should... Good luck!
Mazen416 amazing car!!! what TB do you recommend, i was thinking of the Cobra Jet oval one. Also, lose any torque below 2krpm? I'd love to have a beast like this but i'd be afraid of losing daily driver torque.
I have the SCJ TB, it has a higher CFM than the twin. The car made 403rwtq with the GT intake, and it made 400 rwtq with the CJ setup
any drop in torque on the butt dyno below 2krpm? for DD ability
how much more hp will you gain with stage 3 cams and longtubes? I'm hoping to get in the 500whp range without ported heads.
I don't really know, but I am assuming around 500rwhp! thanks
Whats up with all of this E85 I see people running. I thought you were suppossed to run 93 with these cars. That is amazing making that much power to the rear wheels. I am looking at a cobra jet intake right now. Just got me a Borla atak catback.
We do not have 93 oct in CA, the E85 is almost equal to 105 octane, which allows you to increase timing for more HP while still being in the safe side. Forced Induction cars benefit the most from it though
What injectors and pump? Are they still stock even with E85?
Carlos Egas I have Ford Racing 47lb injectors, stock pump is fine with E85, but you definitely need to upgrade the injectors with the E85.
Any transmission modifications??? I have a 12 with the CJ but my tranny does not like to shift at that high rpm range...
Sho D after market short shifter and clutch will get rid of the *lockouts*
If you're getting lockout at high rpm's it's 99% of the time the clutch.
Hi ! I am thinking about selling my boss 302 manifold intake for the cobra jet , is the stock cams are good enought to handle 7800 rpm ? Thanks
yes, my rev limiter is at 7950 RPM and I haven't had any issues so far.....
Good to know, i was not sure if i should get comp cams stage 3 or even Jpc have a custom cams, you just send your cams and they regrind them and probably even better than the comp cams. But good to know i could drive at least a summer reving almost 8000 haha :)
Yep, you are going to love how it sounds
Great video, stock headers?
yes
Did it throw a check engine light? I'm wanting to do this upgrade to my F150 with the Coyote.
No, it did not I had the CJ setup for years no problems except the first few days the cj tb used to get stuck but it fixed itself and never had this issue again. Good luck!
@@Mazen416 nice! I've had people tell me it will throw a code so I'm scared to do the upgrade. Thanks
I really liked your car I live in Oregon and I'm going to AED n you should hook me up with them so I can get like your tune Lol , Shokran
Thanks man, I hope you're not driving all the way to CA just to get it tuned :) Shaun at AED has tuned at least 800+ of the new mustangs I am sure he'll do a good job tuning yours. 3fwan :)
Holy moly shnoly
What is full list of mods??? Thanks
Full list is in the beginning of the video. You're welocme
what is your axel ratio ? 3.73?
Yes
Zinging that to 8k with (assuming) stock powdered metal rods, makes me cringe!
is this intake better than 302?
Yes, much better in every way!
What gear ratio do you have in the rear??
3.73
+Mazen416 i have 3.31 and a CJ on the way also have a stock clutch. anything you would recommend on this? different clutch? 373?
the stock clutch won't like high RPM that's for sure
+Mazen416 so pretty much go eady on it until i can get a clutch
Isn't redlining that much not good for the engine?
I did more than 20k miles on this setup beating it day and night and never had any issues. I think Ford wasn't being sarcastic when they said "built tough" lol
That's impressive! I'm too scared to redline mine! :D
canderson72 It is but aftermarket manifolds encourage it to get the most out of it.
Whoa is that an 8,000 rpm red line?!
omer ghani
Close enough 7,950 RPM
@@Mazen416 oil pump gears?
8000 rpm woooow these 5.0 scream
what is your instagram i would love to follow your build.
My IG: mazensf
I don't think I posted anything regarding my build though
What your gear ratio?
The car even stock has enough power.......everybody want more power for what? I will spend the moneys to improve the driver skill going to the track maybe with a stock mustang gt.........
Imagine after 7 years 11-14 mustang owners are buying 2018 intake manifold porting it and getting the exact number you got on your bone stock manifold that dies after 6800rpm. Smh… 🤦🏾♂️ Lmao!
Can someone explain this shit? The average person does NOT understand those fucking graffs just tell me how much hp I will gain.
