GODZILLA - KING OF MUSTANGS
This is part 2 to the 2011 Mustang going from a 5.0L Coyote to the new 7.3L GODZILLA. The engine is in the car, but we had to do some fabrication along the way. The Godzilla is another step closer to running in a street Mustang.
Thanks for your support and watching!

Literally home garage/driveway built not bought I love it
You know.. I never really understood that mentality. What’s the difference between ME assembling a block with aftermarket parts.. and a licensed mechanic assembling my block with aftermarket parts? The parts are the same neither party forged them or what not, the only difference is I don’t have the experience and expertise that the mechanic has.
@@brandonmiller9155 the difference is anyone with the funds can buy anything, nothing special about that, you do it yourself especially inexperienced that shows tenacity and deserves respect
@@lamboferruccio that applies to both, if I have the funds I could buy any parts and put them in my car, it’s a matter of it working. That’s why the bought vs built never made sense. The parts are the same, who cares if I paid someone else to put it together because I knew I didn’t have the knowledge or ability to do what I wanted or needed. Like, not everyone can do fabrication work, or they don’t have the space or time to work on their car themselves.
@@brandonmiller9155 Brandon there is a huge difference from working from your drive way and a shop with lifts and all the tools needed to do the job.
@@brandonmiller9155 Its about taking the time to learn the craft and take on the challenges yourself instead of letting someone else deal with them
Bro, your girl is helping. You’ve got a winner there.
Hard work being the first to do this swap. All while other folks are still trying to develope power packages for them. Hats off sir. 10 steps ahead.
The Godzilla Swap Mustang is going to be a beast when its all done.
You have a lot of good skills for a young man.
Just what I was thinking...gives me faith in the younger generation kids. I love seeing his ingenuity and fabricating skills...pretty rare these days. One day he may be a famous custom car builder, who knows?
We don’t all like desks ! Some of us aren’t brainwashed at the end of the day I’m an aircraft mechanic and I love working for my dollar. At the end of the week when I get to see my work pays off it’s a great feeling.
@@CRFHONDARIDER100 you are an example of someone that makes this world tick. Everyone can't sit behind a desk, not much would get done.
@@CRFHONDARIDER100 +1 to A&P airforce mechanic
If you can't make SOMETHING, you're a waste of space... Most people contribute absolutely nothing real to the world these days. Can't even change a tire, let alone weld. For the longest time, I thought it was normal. Everybody can shoot, ride/drive, fix things. Mostly hung out with my cousins when I was younger, we all competed in everything with each other. Then, I start meeting other people, that really can't do anything. I'm like, what did you do growing up?
I’m not sure how I ended up here, but this is awesome. I’m looking forward to more uploads
Dude, massive respect, the fact that you are doing all of this on your driveway (pretty much by your own) AND making really quick progress. About the ECU.
Guy fabs up his own tri-y header awesome
I've done engine swaps, in my apartment parking lot, put a 283 in a 6cyl Chevy truck, drove home from work Fri and drove it with a new V-8 to work on Monday, but I would be lost on these new cars, these young guys impress me!!! Glad to see real car guys still doing it!!!
Outstanding work there Trooper. And your Old Lady/Girlfriend is a hell of a hand too. Can’t wait to see it run/drive!💪
Its refreshing to see someone who knows how to fabricate, keep the vids rolling.
As soon as Ford announced these gas 7.3s I knew this was gonna happen. Glad I found this build series
Very nice work, sort of reminds me of myself. I once rebuilt a 68 Mustang hardtop 289 car and converted it to 428 Cobra jet. Even though Ford had built a car with the Big FE I didn't realize how different the factory big block cars differed from the small block car. To even attempt this is quite the job but you are getting it done and explaining it a very understandable way. Can't wait to see it run.
I believe Ford outsourced the big block installation to a company called Carcraft.
@@zeke7142003 That was only the Boss 429's... They had a factory 67 GT390, the 390FE is the same size exactly as the 428CJ... Give or take an inch on the heads....
Yes, been there. We pulled the 302 and dropped in a 390. I remember trying to get the engine down into the bay, onto the mounts and a friend was standing on the intake while we used pry bars between the inner fenders and the manifolds. I think the car was tweaked a little from a previous accident but it was still a tight fit. We marked the contact areas, pulled the motor back out and peened the contact areas to make a bit of room. It was fun to drive when it was finished.
There's no Ford big block. Or small block. There are Windsors short or tall deck, Clevelands/335 series 351m and 400 tall deck cleveland, 385 series 429/460 to 514(crate and maybe some crazy Holman & Moody stuff), etc, F.E. 352 360 390 410 428 427, F.T. similar to f.e. but for trucks, 331 391, yada yada, M.E.L, Y blocks, Mods again short or tall, Coyotes, even Godzilla. But no BIG, no small. Only GM was that unimaginative, and gyp you out of displacement by underboring, so adding weight while decreasing displacement and not even tightening the package size. And some weird short deck bid blocks if memory serves, and eventually a tall deck cause they couldn't compete with the massive 385 series bore spacing, had to squeeze more cubes somewhere... Chrysler, a bit. But even they had more than just BIG small. And yeah, carcraft did the boss 9 conversions, and apparently got a sweet deal on a bunch of f.e. blocks. They're tight, but 390-428 bolt in. F.E. blocks would be more an intermediate, anyway. Best of both worlds, not as big as a 385 with big splayed valve heads, more power than lesser displacements, all else equal.
@@kramnull8962 same block. Maybe some slight differences in specific head castings. Only the 427 really had specific differences, but again still same block, basically. All F.E.
Following keep up the content like watching real world builds for people on a budget
Jesse Dotson sent me your link he is my bro
Glad to have you following!
Glad to see a young man with vision. No LS swap here.
Awesome build! Your extremely talented. Thank you for your service 🙏
I'm glad this very smart young man is into Ford's, and doing the work, that 66 or 67 Fairlane is gonna be a really sweet ride!!!
Those headers look like old school tri Y headers. That’s pretty awesome
Literally your channel just popped up like an hour ago I don't know how I clicked on it watch both your videos definitely got me hooked great job man keep it up can't wait for end products got a new subscriber here!!!!
Graciously, beautiful helper. Make sure she gets to drive!
I like seeing stuff like this. Especially in a world full of nay sayers
Nay
I already said on a channel I was going to put the godzilla in my s197. Someone went about crying how coyote this coyote that. I wanted to be like one of those old school cartoons and say ahhhhhhh shutup and punch him in the snozolly
@@BigInjun05 The yote is a great motor DOHC is awesome but 7.3L is just as awesome if not more. How is the swap not a good idea? I can't believe there are people who wouldn't love this idea. I geuss maybe I'm just ignorant.
I have both a coyote and a 7.3 godzilla. I love my mustang. I built a 3-2-1 coyote for it and its a beast. My F250 with the godzilla is freaking hardcore! My truck is my baby. It turns the earth with ALL the torque. Its has exhaust and tuned by palm beach. If you ever get a chance you can check it out.
@@streetslayers410 on it.
It's great to see someone just getting it done in his home garage. Build your skillset and you'll have a shop and that youtube money in no time..
Fantastic job there young Airman. Carry on and this old retired CMSgt who loves driving his Shelby GT500 is paying attention and pulling for you.
Aim High!!!
Retired USN here. I will be willing to bet this is everybody’s go-to guy at work. As an engineer in the Navy, you can always depend on them no matter the job, the time or how long it takes. Great fellas to work with and you learn a lot because they have a natural ability to work on whatever needs fixin.
Hey chief. Thx for your service.
I swear I’ll never call them chairforce for the rest of the week ;)
Dude... As a fabricator by trade of about 15-20 years for the aftermarket car scene, I LOVE SEEING THIS!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK MAN!!
Great video mate
Looking forward to the next video! Also I think it's great that your lady is involved with your build!
From the look of things, looks like you were in the service. Adapt, improvise, overcome! That's how Carroll Shelby started. Can't wait to see that Horse Godzilla rocket down the quarter mile.
good job young man.. always like to see younger guys just do it...
Cool to see you and your wife doing something that most shops are to afraid to do right now. Massive respect. Can’t wait to see it drive.
Damn nice job done on the motor mounts an the header work! Keep working hard...love to see this thing rip up some pavement!
Can't wait to get started on my 1973 chevelle ss
Water jet time! You’re doing an excellent job on your mustang.
Can’t wait to see more
Can’t wait to see the end result
This guy needs to be hired buy a prestigious shop . His skills are gnarly
Seems like the type of guy who rather work for himself.
Yeah, he should work for Gas Monkey so a guy that doesn’t know how to work on cars can take all the credit and get paid chump change working for him 18-20 hrs a day.
He'd be a kick ass addition to any shop
@@deegan727 Yea he should work for Richard Rawlings 🤣🤣
This young man is doin work! Glad to see this!! Keep it up!!
Great content from Louisville Kentucky watching
Just popped up in my feed....man this guy has some serious skills. Keep kickin ass with the build! Dig the creativeness.
From a retired AF veteran....Thanks for serving this Great country!
Wow dude is handy on the tools
Please keep the videos coming on this want to see finished product so bad will be a beast
I can not wait for this to be complete!
You got some legit skills brother.
That there is Marriage material Bud! Seriously though, it is so refreshing to see a young man who has learned the skill and the knowledge to do what you are doing!! Keep going, i hope i can be watching you in my old age too!.
The 7.3 is a monster. Factory heads, block, and crank Brian Wolfe makes 1800hp to the tire in his true street car. Eat your heart LS lovers.
I’am really proud that your are building your bracket and welding it when needed, good for you can’t wait for the first star up.👏👌👍🇨🇦
I’m following you man, will be interesting to see running. I’m sure you’ll figure out the stuff as you go and update and revise. Props for all the work. 👍🏻
My hat is off to you. Someone of your generation putting that much work and ingenuity into a project. I'd put it into the Fairlane, done cut the shock towers out and new suspension!!! Damn that would be cool. Imagine the looks ud get when you opened that hood. My first car was a 67 Comet, practically the same car! 289,long tube headers, big solid lift cam. Seeing that old Fairlane brought back alot of memories!!
Your headers remind me of Carroll Shelby's Tri- Y headers. Old school baby! Plus back in the early 60's no one sold off the shelf headers- you made them yourself. Good Job!!
Look forward to more vids! Nice Fab work!
Very cool. Can't wait to it running.
2021 Ford Bronco with that motor swap...🤩
Pretty decent set of tri y's... I'd run the filter straight out the hood. Godzilla's gotta have a horn...🤣🤣🤣
Hartwick did the 'beta' (protoype) design work on both motor mounts as well as the Tri Y headers, which actually work well.
Man if I could get stationed with you it’d be endless fun days of turning wrenches
Freaking awesome work buddy cheers
If that is your wife jumping in to help you are a lucky man. If she is not you wife (or sister) you need to make her your wife. Good Vid.
this is the coolest project I have ever seen
Great stuff man, stoked to see how this turns out!
Impressed! Someone send that young man a bandsaw, carbide chop saw, and some damn welding gloves (joking-ish)! Subscribed, looking forward to seeing more.
Looking forward to the next video!
I like this channel so far keep up the great work
You are one lucky guy! Having your lovely lady helping you on this project? Awesome!!! My girl would be saying.... Stop messing with that dang car and cut the grass! lol Better not let her get away, she is a keeper!!!! Love and blessings to you two from Motown/Dearborn.
Looks like you’ve got yourself a keeper to boot! Any woman willing to get her hands greasy is a woman worth holding on to!!
Mans deserves a garage built just for this build he’s doing
Just had pt1 show up on my feed. Loving this. I love the coyote and it’s daring to go Godzilla but awesome. Built not bought. Big relief after watching speed phenom whine about he can’t afford the gas and tires to go to the track with his 2020 GT500 carbon track pack so he’s gonna sell it.
Wow man you’re great! And you got your girl helping you out whatabeast man excited to learn some more tips and tricks from you!
Hell yea can’t wait to see the next video keep em rolling
Lovin this build! Nice work on all the brackets and headers!
DAM this guy's good 😨
Dude, The music... The damn music!
Nice work for shade treeing. I've worked in a fab shop for 20 yrs. Having all the right tools (CNC Mills, Plasma/laser tables) makes these types of projects easy. Doing it with home tools is very impressive. Being a Ford fan makes it even funner to watch. Can't wait to see er run!
I’m so excited for real. Can’t wait to see this torque monster rip!!!
Looks to me like if this kid keeps this up he's going to be a competitor for Hennessy some day.
I want to see this finished. Very interesting build. I like the way he thinks.
I like the TRI-Y headers!
Some really refreshing content man, thank you. I’m pulling for you and this build
Aside from those welds, great video.
Back to the '50's and '60's ... good on you! Time, experience and tools will improve the cosmetics but you make this old guy proud
Fantastic job and thank you for your service
This is amazing, I can't wait to see the finished product
Keep up the good work. This is gonna be awesome 👌
Sick build bro! I'm itching to put a Godzilla in my fox. Its sitting in the states waiting for me to get back in a couple years.
I love this shit. I could watch these types of videos all day long! Great job and best of luck on the build.
Yep - just watched both videos on the Godzilla mustang! Can't wait for your next release! Keep it up Hartwick's!
Good luck kid! I'm glad the feed gave me something cool to watch! Hope you find everything! I'll be watching till the end!
I’m loving your content... can’t wait to see Zilla run!!
I’m ready to see it run!! You’ve got mad talent my guy!
So happy I found this channel! Can’t wait to see the build!
You must be one of the first people to do a godzilla swap on UA-cam
Bro, you're a skilled enthusiasts. Nice build 👍
Well done.
Easily my new favorite channel! Great work. Might wanna watch what sparks ya throw near that hot water heater. Sorry I sound like my dad ha
I'll be waiting for a package!!😁
Awesome job! Following.
Awesome work. This is going to be a fun build to follow.
Badass build bro cant wait to see the end result 👍🏻👍🏻
Bro ! He is great. Not expert level welding but that’s a tool that could be sharpened! Practice makes perfect! Good job bro
He says these are just rough parts to be sent out for clean copies. Kind of good for just fabricating just to build copies off of.
You young Hartwick, we will be watching your career with great interest!
Very cool! Subscribed!
Those are called tri y headers, they are very good at scavenging the exhaust. I think they will work very well for you.
