Thank you, Dan for sharing your future plans and all the fine gifts you received from some of your loyal followers. You are also tops in your field of metal detecting. Your videos are both educational and fun to watch and we're looking forward to your visit here in America one day! Never give up searching for that Pot of Gold. One day you will dig it up! BTW, Take a small First Aid Kit with you on your 6000 mile trek around Britain. It will come in handy just in case you need a band aid! Good luck and may God guide your footsteps.

Hi Dan, John here... just remembered a video with Andy Baines where he showed this beach I believed was called Nivea Beach that was sprinkled with bombs. They were laying on the beach and sticking out of the sand and cliffs. Most were colored blue which means they were practice bombs, but a lot were big and rusty. So walk softly, smile and Come on, Get In!

Dan, you should consider a Defender Otterbox for your phone. I bought a new one on Ebay for $20.00.I'm certain the glass would be cracked if I hadn't bought it. The full-waterproof version is the Otterbox Protector. Do you use a GPS tracking app? Mine is GPS Essentials Records dozens of things and the basics like time , distance, route, speed, elevation.The camera feature records picture location, and places a camera icon on your path.And it's free.

Great update Dan... Hopefully you'll be passing through The Isle of Portland on the south coast. It's a pretty weird place and the locals are proud of the fact. Most have stickers on their cars...'Keep Portland Weird'' There's also talk of gold on the beach from the hundreds of shipwrecks here...Happy to join you with my ancient CScope if your passing this way.

We sometimes use that hat as an inner hat for hard hats or if there is a stiff gale that requires a bit of water repellent. Over heating the noggin reduces the possibility of frostbite or hyper thermia , on the parts that are exposed. Even though am currently in the southeast U.S. my work on industrial freezers and flash freezers has me exposed to well shall we say mfbs temperatures. That, I think you will absolutely love once you figure out where it fits in your gear, sorry, your kit would be your lingo.

Cheers for the update. Me and my Nephew just walked the cliffs and camped from Brid to Robinhoods bay. Took us 3 days.. had a great time. The bit north of Scarborough to Robinhoods bay along beast cliff was hard! No doubt you'll do this bit at the start of your trip or at the very last bit, depending on which direction you set off in. Are you heading North or south?
hey Dan, when you finish the new agenda plan a US trip, i have a cabin on 100 acres that used to be an old apple farm from the 1800's. there are two very ancient foundations there but i only dig up the old tin roofs as my detector sucks.

Nice one Dan, your going to love Anglesey on your coastal walk, it's approx 124 miles. Lots of history with the Romans & druids. What your doing is amazing, you should raise that amount & more. This can only be done with the XP DEUS of course lol. Take care Neil :-)

make sure you copy that website - at least screen shots - and have it printed and bound at whatever place in the uk does that sort of thing - fedex office/staples/office depot here in the states. ...just in case that website disappears or gets taken down over the next cpl years - its such great information for your long trek it would be a shame for it to get taken down. I have been burned assuming a website will exist forever.
also there is an ap called tide tables free to download, i use it for sea fishing, you just type in the location and it gives you the high and low tides, should give you more scope on detecting on your trip

That sticker ID would be awesome, but you could probably find a magnet idea that may do the same thing. It will be better when you have to sell the car again. May want to look into that.

Good luck with the round Britain walk Dan and a great cause, on the subject of cameras check out the SJCam 4000 wifi like a go pro but at £40 ish is a fraction of the cost
