- Its not very often we get to metal detect in someones garden so we jumped at the opportunity to detect around Mazzys auntie Pats garden full of interesting history. A Saxon burial ground was found across the road so who knows what we could find.

Crazy to see all the people in the comments w the same experience, I too can say that this channel has brought me many great memories from years ago as well as a liking for metal detecting ever since.

I got to say thank you Dan you was the one that got me and my dad into metal detecting 9 years ago sadly he is not with me anymore he passed away but I cherish the memories I have found a lot of stuff over the years quarter stater and hammered coins and gold rings metal detecting even taught me how to read lol big respect I hope you make some more videos

10 years ago my family was stationed in Germany and I was 14. I watched this man dig up Germany and other sites and got so invested in the history and this guy's sense of humor. Glad to say I was around during the Deep Fried Dan cooking channel as well. Thank you for the many memories as a child, I hope you're well and still out enjoying your hobby.
You need to bring this channel back! With all the traveling you do, you have access to so many more areas to dig! I would definitely re-subscribe if you started metal detecting again.
He has addressed it on some of the live streams . He won’t be metal detecting Any longer , he has some personal reasons why along with some health issues that make it difficult.
I just want to take a moment to say I used to watch you when I was little and the last videos I remember watching was the one where you found the tank under the ground and only the tank barrel was sticking out finding you channel again literally just made me smile I’m now going to be a common viewer again...love you dan!

That looks like a Caltapa tree very popular in America too. Its a fast growing tree with showy white flowers in the spring.

the tree is a catawba in us the caterpillars are used for fishing. they are also used as small shade trees around plantation buildings. good to see you back.
