my grandfather used to watch your videos and he loved them, unfortunately he passed of lung cancer in 2018 and when he did he left me a collection of metal detectors. some times I grab them and take them to a local park just so they still work and are upkept. good to see that youre doing well Dan. keep up the good work, Cheers!

Deep Digger Dan was and still is the inspiration for me to get off my arse, dig out my old outdated metal detector and get out and enjoy the world and the history of my province here in Newfoundland, Canada. Also proud to say you were behind my three step kids getting into the hobby and continuing to have fun as adults, they entered your video contests and looked hard to find GGGGOOOLLLDDD of there own. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the videos, the laughs, and the memories that are and always will be Deep Digger Dan. Come on get in.

I subscribed to Deep Digger Dan for the metal detecting, when Travel Trolls started I watched through COVID, but unsubscribed to both after I realized Deep Digger Dan stopped Metal Detecting and the amount of whining and complaining on Travel Trolls. Sorry but it's the truth.

After 10 years watching Deep Digger Dan, I've now graduated high school, graduated college, and now have an entry level geology job. I was also a fanatic metal detectorist, also have problems with the knees and back. So picked up Drone Flying. Absolutely love it. I owe the DJI Mini 3 pro and makes great videos. I sold most of my Metal detecting gear. Only have my Simplex left and my nokta pulsedive pinpointer. Was great following you on DDD. You inspired me to start Metal detecting in Holland and Germany. So still metal detect now and then. But more flying my drone. 😅
Lightweight Dan....lol I have just taken up metal detecting, with a severely arthritic knee that limits my walking to maybe 100 yds, after watching your videos, used to love the way that you gave "lip" to your camera lady, how did the magnet fishing go?
You inspired me to metal detect when I was 10 I spent 225 dallars when I was 10 on a metal detector
When to the beach found a gold ring worth 400 dallars
I still watch your wild camping series, and the funny thing is, I think you may have been ahead of the curve with that as you can't move for wild camping vids on UA-cam now.

Hi Dan, you’ll probably never see this and that’s ok.
I found your videos about a decade ago when I was around 7-8, and during that time my parents were divorced and I was pretty depressed for an 8 year old.
However your metal detecting videos felt as if they gave me a purpose, and I bought a metal detector when I was 11 because of you. I wasn’t good at it at first but I certainly found a great many coins.
Thank you Dan, you are one of the reasons why I’m in a better place today.

Hey thats me! I watched lot of your old digging vids, never seen the travel bit, and now this. My trail cam is just picking up leaves and branches swaying in the wind lol. Couple of rabbits and a young deer buck going back and forth couple times for a drink (i guess), but he left soon after.
edit funnily enough, as I grew older i got more interested in history, and amateur metall detecting can pick up stuff that would otherwise be missed. (it can also destroy sites if done for profits..:/). so heyhow, mixed feelings but anyways, trail cams are cool too :PP

While im sad that there wont be anymore videos here, im really happy to see you happy and loving life! I get so much nostalgia when I go back and watch some of the old videos. This got me into metal detecting as a teen. I used to say "come on get in" in my head, when I'd find something. Thank you for all the memories.

I've been subbed to your travel channel for years and I think I may have watched only one or two videos. No offense, but metal detecting is interesting... and you were digging up way more coins than you were guns. I totally understand the bit about the knees and back, it's a lot of work. You'll never get the traction on those other channels that you developed with this one because of the subject material though. I wish you luck and i'm subbed to your trail cam channel now too.
I don't expect to. But who would have expected a metal detecting channel to take off once upon a time. Its the content not the hobby.

Hey Dan, long time follower, first time commentor. I had an idea for your comeback to this channel as you mentioned on TravelTrollsTV. I think it would be fairly entertaining, as one of the first videos back on this channel, for you to do a reaction type video of some of your old videos of you metal detecting in Berlin and the like, and give a bit of insight of what you had going on back in them days. I believe this would serve as both an entertaining video for old subs and a good introduction for new subs alike. Anyways, have a good time on your holidays, I will be sure to keep track of the upcoming videos.
