      @SprayWayCustoms: Thanks again! I’m probably going to need some thoughts on why my gas gauge won’t go above 3/4 even on a full tank. Will post another video on troubleshooting soon.

    Great and helpful videos, is it possible to make a video on how to replace the speed sensor part inside the transmission of a 1982 Caprice Classic 350?

      Also, how do I get a new piece from the selling sites?

    Hi, how does the sending unit work? Does it show a accurate reading? Spectra Premium is 0-95 ohm, but original is 0-90 ohm.

      The new sending unit works. I have another video on how I finally fixed the gas gauge. It was a connection issue behind the instrument panel.

    Great videos, thank you. Was the engine not getting fuel?

    • @LongologoProductions
      @LongologoProductions  4 роки тому +1

      @Brian Jones: Thanks! This one is related to the gas gauge never showing a "full" reading. (Even on a full tank the gauge will only read 3/4 full.) In another video I replaced the gas gauge itself with a new old stock OEM gauge. That didn't fix it. Then, I replaced the sending unit and hoses as in this video. Spoiler - that didn't do it either. I am thinking now there is a partially bad ground somewhere between the gauge and the frame. I will post another video soon on my efforts at troubleshooting. Very frustrating because I feel like I am hunting in the dark with this one....

      @longologo Productions I have a 86 and it's not getting the gas from the tank any longer. Is that a sending unit problem or what could this be? Remember 1986 is the year it went fuel injected. Other than this problem the car runs and drives fine! Please respond.

      @J Jones: I would check/replace the fuel filter first, then check the sending unit. Early fuel injection (TBI) was available on the 1985 too with the v6, but mine is the carbureted 305v8….

    What are the two lines for? I know one goes to fuel pump but what is the other one for? Please tell me

    • @LongologoProductions
      @LongologoProductions  2 роки тому +2

      @20Rndz: One line is to draw fuel out of the tank by the fuel pump as you noted, and the second line is for fuel vapor and should go to the vapor canister, which is part of the evaporative emission control system (EECS). Gasoline vapors from the fuel tank will flow through the second line and are absorbed by the carbon/charcoal in the vapor canister. Again, this is for the engine with a carburetor. Other fuel sending units, like for the engines with throttle body injection (TBI), have 3 lines, and the third line would be for fuel return to the tank. I hope that helps.

    I have an 89 caprice, I used to hear the fuel pump kick on when I turned the key but now I don’t hear it at all, could it be the fuel filter as well? Maybe? Possibly? If you could get back to me thanks very much!

    I don't know why GM stopped making / using these nice metal gas tanks ???
    The ones made of fiber glass or plastic honestly are very bad ....

      @FPS Nas Hamdan: The primary reason in my view was cost. A very distant second would be corrosion.
