I'm so happy watching this video where you talk about not having 1k subscribers yet, but you've got 8k now! Congrats! Love to see small channels growing, it gives me hope Lol! ❤❤
Great Video as well!
I'm not hugely knowledgeable on the stock market, but my partner is doing a lot of research. One thing he recently read was about investing essentially said that investing consistently is key, so when the market is up, you put money in, and when it's down you keep putting money in. That means when shares prices go back up, you'll have bought some shares at a higher price, and some at a lower price and things even out. If you've stopped now, then you don't have the advantage of having bought shares at a lower price. This is defs a long term investment approach, but I assume that's what you're going for.
Anyway, I definitely don't know a ton about shares, but I thought that might be interesting for you just because you mentioned having stopped buying in!
I've saved so much in the past four years, i'm buying my first house, in cash, in April 2021. I'm 28 years old and on £24,000 basic wage (£30,000+ with overtime). Put in 10% more effort and gained 20% more reward. It's about efficiency and making the most of your free time to be productive, whilst cutting the unecessary costs. It takes sacrifice and commitment though!
That's really impressive. Well done 👍
Thank you for being so honest and open. It really does help to see where money goes.
Thank you for sharing! I follow her channel, but I only discovered it a month ago. I didn’t know she sold the spreadsheet in her shop. I just went to purchase it and it’s currently free!
This was everything I needed and more!! Please do more budgeting videos on budgeting young, I would love it. Really enjoying all the budgeting videos atm xxx

Reece Caruso thank you! Where are you from? Love to know who’s watching! X

Well done on this video! You've got a very bright future ahead of you 👏
Such a good honest video and so helpful 👌
I have literally watched this about 3 times to make sure I get all the info properly, fab! 🤣 and LOVE the spreadsheet you recommended! Xx
I did the exact same 🙈🙈
Brilliant I love this video and was looking for something exactly like this! Thank you....definitely would love to hear more on how you budget and save and blah....feel like a baby when it comes to all this and realise how I have just spent without ever properly contemplating on savings! Ahhh! Much much appreciated! :) I shall check out your other videos too! :)
Shan this was soooo helpful, thank you so much for doing this. It has given me loads of ideas on saving. Also baby budgeting video would be great. Stay safe ❤ xxx
Leanne UA-cam baby budgeting video it is!! I probably need that one myself too 😂🙈xx
That was a fantastic video! I do have some questions in regards to your expenses. So here it goes! How do you pay for things like hair salons, nails, coffee, gifts for birthdays and xmas, home repairs? Things like car insurance and cell phone bills plus food is so much cheaper there! When I add not just food but also cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, etc, $200 or 250 pounds would not be enough here for the months! I think we pay about 500 USD per months and that is not including alcohol which can can expensive as well! I think it’s nice of you to contribute to your family’s food budget since it’s not free for them either! You are such a responsible young lady at such a young age! Well done 👍🏼! Hugs 🤗
Loved this video please or more on money and budgeting xxx
Love your videos! And would love to find out more about how you and Ash got into the army, got such a good salary and bought a house! X
girl youve inspired me to start a budget tracker!!!
Rachael Young honestly girl do it! It’s the best thing when you’re trying to save (and stop wondering where you money goes!!) xxx
I totally get what you are saying about investing, but if you invest in like an ETF or anything really, when things are going down is the time to buy! But it has risk - so it has to be something you are comfortable with.
love this xx
i spent too much money as you know 🤣🤣 this video was defo needed
I love this vid!!
Do you have any other recommendations of spreadsheets? The one on The Break is unavailable now and if it isn't pretty to look at I'll lose interest! This was really helpful, thank you! x
Please do a video on saving after graduating or like me, nearly finishing uni and wanting to buy a house as soon as possible. Such helpful content - thank you! :-) xx
Milena Katerina make sure you check out my other savings videos they may help you☺️xx
Have my budget tracker, deffo would love a video on how to get to this stage of being able to save this much!! xx
Louise Garrett fabulous!! I will deffo do a video on that, the career path I took etc! Xxx
This is really good. But you could get a cheaper sim only plan and with the AA cover you could get that with your bank, including travel and phone insurance for your household for like £17 pcm. Just a thought.
I'm new to your channel..love this video...
this is such a thorough explanation, defo gonna get a similar spreadsheet done
joshy-kun you need it boy!! Well, enjoy your life obvs but when you want to save for something, that’s when you need it 😉
@@HomeWithShan yeah definitely atm i'm not saving for anything but I do put a few hundred pounds away each month for emergencies
joshy-kun see you’re a smart nugget really 💪🏼😁
@@HomeWithShan haha i try sometimess
Thank you!, xx
This video is an absolute game changer! Thank you so much for sharing this and for being so transparent with it all! Would definitely like to know how you got to the position to be able to save like this xx
Jessie Boycott aw wow that’s so great to hear, thank you so much! I shall definitely be doing more videos like this, starting with my career choices from a young ages and not getting into debt! Xxx
Am so glad lock down end now and can go back to work now amber going her grandma and grandad and auntie and uncle s now on elry morning s now
Shan! You can save so much more money on your phone bill. I have sim only too as I have a 4 year old phone but I only pay £10.25 with Vodafone and get 8gb data. I know it’s a great deal so you might not get the same but for sure you can slash it down from £34!! Just found your video, loving it so far :) x
So freaking underrated!!
This is clearly a very good How to save money 💰 video 📹 👌 👍
Couldn't find the excel sheet you were referring to...do you have an up to date link? Ta!
Can you do a video on how you track your spending please cause that what I struggle with
Great video - something I definitely needed. The link for the Patricia Bright spreadsheet (link) isn't working. Could you amend that please? Overall really good video!
Well done. I'm going too save in 2021.
Love watching your videos can’t believe we’re the same age (20 if im right) and you’re doing sm it’s motivated to save a lot too more especially after uni. Also for your phone I’m sure you should be able to find a cheaper deal they usually pop up seasonally mine has gone down to £16 from 30 just from looking at deals but keep the same benefits such unlimited texts calls etc
Really enjoyed this video would love more videos on how to save young I’m also trying to save for my first car if there are any tips ??
Thank you lovely! I’m 22 but yeah similar ages!! Thank you so much for the feedback, I will definitely be looking to do more videos like this one that can help you out 😁
Great vid. Your phone bill could be lower. Mines sim only and it unlimited everything£10 PCM
The link to the spreadsheet isn’t working 😞
Very good Excel sheet. Nice planning and budgeting except for the TV bar & kitchen at 0% . Another rookie mistake was stopping stocks and shares when the market is going down. Keep it simple and open vanguard account & invest regularly in Life Strategy fund. Thanks for sharing real numbers. :)
Crypto Batman I disagree that getting 0% finance deals is a bad thing, merely allows you to spread the cost of larger purchases, without paying any extra. The alternative is to save up all the money and buy it outright, no difference isn’t he money you spend though.
You’re probably right about the stocks and shares element, however like I said, I am no expert in this and all I could see is my money disappearing! I put the money that I would have been investing to good use and bought a new car though!
@@HomeWithShan I agree with you regarding the disappearance of money. We have to do the basic safe regular investments before jumping into high risk options. Congrats on getting a new car.
@@HomeWithShan Difference of opinion with regards to 0% . On paper it does make sense. You naturally tend to bargain and hassle the seller. u automatically believe u have more choices, control and can walk away from the deal..... Spreading the cost with 0% deal or interest free credit card is a bad idea in general. Some smart people make it work, but many will get into these habits and accumulate monthly payments.
Do you recommend having different bank accounts for different, important things? Like sperate ones for mortgages, pets and cars.
I think its good to have different accounts, one for your income to come in. And one entirely different one that you pay bills with.
Nice one! I would suggest to pay off everything you owe to your mum first then you can start saving for a new car. There are also lots of sim-only cheap plans on the market for £10.
True , I was thinking that also .
Am siveing up for my thing s
Whats your network provider? If you're due for an upgrade, 3 has a few sim only deal around £25 max! Every little helps 😉
joshy-kun EE... but I can’t get signal with 3 in the countryside boy! I’ve tried them already! 🙈
@@HomeWithShan ouuu i get you girl, well whatever provider works for you, hopefully they got deals to reduce your mobile cost 🙌🏿
you should be saving in to an ISA, otherwise you are losing money against the rate of inflation
also you are SO PRETTY gurl look at you🤩🤩
joshy-kun you make me blush 🙈

“If you don’t budget your spending
you’ll spend your budget”
And such a good idea to save for MOTs and services ahead- I tend to save money and be really gutted when I have to pay out- so a separate saving pot for that would soften the fall 😂
Aleksandra Zaluska definitely agree!! I’ve learned this the hard way myself... my last MOT cost me £650 😭 never again is that coming out of my savings. Budget for the worst case scenario.. then if it does happen it’s not the end of the world! Xx
I would cry at 35 mobile bill
If you can do that with £3000 a month i wonder what i can do with £7800
Love this video but you could easily haggle a better SIM only deal, I got unlimited calls, texts and 60GB of data for just £14! You could be saving an extra £20 every month!! x
Faye Dickinson yeah you’re probably right! I have to stick with EE as it’s the only one that work in my area (but I’m moving soon so will definitely check other providers then!) x
@@HomeWithShan my deal is with EE! Definitely barter with them xxx
You have a Fiat 500 and it’s funny because people say “Fiat 500 Twitter” and I’ve never seen a video where someone has that
Sharon Alubo just had to google what this means haha, there is definitely a stereotypical idea about people that have them!! Maybe I fit into that stereotype and maybe I don’t... I’m not too sure 🙈 I do love my car though, will be sad to see it go! Xxx
HomeWithShan I do not think you fit into a stereotype AT ALL. just a lighthearted joke 😁. I’m sure you’d be sad to se your 🚗 go.
Love a good ‘Money’ based videos....
1000000% keep investing.
The stock market is effectively having a sale now.
I understand the “fear” behind continuing to invest but honestly you’re doing yourself a MASSIVE disservice by stopping at the best opportunity.
Look into ‘Meaningful Money’ podcast and fb group it’s AMAZING and some super knowledgable people in there. Consider a Vanguard LifeStrategy S&S ISA as well. Well diversified and showing good returns at the moment for SUPER cheap fees.
Good//100000
Your deffo paying too much for your sim only, try shop around on uswitch
Your mortgage is so low wow!
Is this really budgeting? It looks like more of tracking money instead. Plus you said you're saving 700 and in the end you show you save 100 or so. If you save from one side but spend on other so that's spending in the end. Budgeting is living in London by yourself and keeping 50% of your salary in the pocket. I won't forget those 34£ for phone 😂
Your so rich and I cant even find a job smh
Budgeting is so important if you want to take control of your financial destiny but also still have fun. This is how Tom and I manage our family finances and include our financial goals. ua-cam.com/video/rd8WkxvMAqg/v-deo.html xCC
