I used your pattern years ago for my bunting. It's the easiest abd best way of making them. Glad of the reminder as I couldn't remember where it was. Your work is amazing. Thank you. X
My friend who has dementia was very nearly scammed last week. They told her to lie to the bank about what the cash was for, and that didn't sound right, so she rang me to ask what to do, thank goodness. I told her not to answer any number she doesn't recognise, so hopefully..... I could think some not very nice things about them...😢
Glad you gave us this warning. You look so cute with your hair like that. You make the most interesting and beautiful crafts. Hope you have a good rest of the day❤
This happened to my relative who is over 80. The scammers frightened her into catching a bus into town and going to her bank to withdraw a very large amount. Fortunately the cashier she dealt with at the bank noticed that she had her phone on and intervened before the money was withdrawn. She was left feeling quite shaken and vulnerable. Such evil people.
Yes, such scammers are wicked. Anyone who scams an elderly person has a special spot reserved for them in H_ll. Sometimes the scams are soo smooth...but best to go unto the branch or just end the call like Ilona does.❤
@@aoc092 Hundreds of branches are closing every week, leaving people with nowhere to speak to a human face to face. This is why they are pushing digital banking. This is the plan. Making people reliant on their hand held smart phones. I can get cash out of my Bank account at the post Office, with my debit card.
That's a shocking story. It's not just about the money stolen, it's about ruining someones self confidence if they make a mistake. Good that you were there to help her.
The number of scams these days is scary. Everyone needs to be vigilant. I must admit that handing over wads of cash to a stranger sounds a particularly stupid thing to do but who's to say that we would not get caught out in other ways, unless we are careful.
Some of the bigger scams can go on for many years. Lies which get people sucked in, can be life changing, even life limiting. It's a thin line between fact and fiction.
Thanks for the bunting tip Ilona. I might give it a go for some Christmas decor. Well.... that will be a hard lesson for the lady that got scammed but she's wiser now. Toodle pip and have a great day.
No internet banking.. Old fashioned is the best.. I don't listen to the calls.. I say I have to go there is an alien just landed in the garden.. Do you want a word with him.. Ha !
Please everyone don't ever get complacent thinking you know what the scams are. There are new ones coming out all the time and if you have never heard of a particular scam you could get caught out.
love the fabric I have had scammers tell them to go and knit a jumper and put the phone down love the video it's good you telling the story and helping others think not to do it. I dont do bank online I go to my bank. I have cash in my purse dont use my card.
We all need to be cautious and aware of our financial decisions that we make Ilona. Here in Canada I fear eventually that they will force on us a cashless society on us. Some places refuse cash payments and we must use a credit or debit card! I too will not do any online banking or ordering purchases. Too many things could go wrong. Have a great day! 🌟
You talk common sense. Getting people hooked on carrying a mobile phone around with them is the first step to controlling their every movement. I don't get a credit card statement every month because I haven't got one. My monthly bank statement has minimum entries on it. Two long term direct debits, pensions coming in, cash withdrawals going out. Takes me seconds to check it. We have to hold the line and say NO.
Well what a silly lady any one with half a brain wouldn't entertain a call like that nevermind go draw cash out . I don't answer unknown numbers I then check who rang me if it's anyone I think needs to speak to me I will ring them back . Those courier scams operate if you sell things online too.
Banks in Wales make it really hard to bank the old fashioned way. My bank opens only weekdays and they make a real fuss over sending me paper statements. The bank is quite far away and I cannot get there during the week . This electronic banking only benefits the banks and the scammers. I am sorry for the lady you mentioned. Golden rule never give banking details that can access your accounts to anyone. I love your bunting Ilona very colourful. x
Honestly I find it hard to comprehend how stupid people can be.i know someone who thought they could get a discount on their car tax from a fake site.honestly when has a goverment body given out discounts lo.
I signed up to the telephone preference service. I no longer get scam calls, if the odd scam call sneaks through my phone alerts me saying ‘likely nuisance call’. I don’t answer my phone anyway if I don’t recognise the caller, if it’s important they’ll leave a message
Don't fall for it ilona. Say I'll go in the Branch.for Queries. Love the new hairstyle 😍. Very nice😊 There was a older gentleman talking about this on This morning awhile ago he was a ww2 soldier. Same thing as you mentioned I do my banking simple. Too . They hate folk like us.
@meanqueensuperscrimper8908 💯 Agreed ilona 😠. Older folk need love and kindness not fall into the hands of a con artist. And some haven't always got Dementia, but easly are taken in by it. Sometimes the con person are well spoken. Just. Becareful ilona . Some knock on the Door asking for your Bank details and stop you in the town centre. Weather's grey to day, have u been 4 a walk. Best wishes Levi ❤️
I have got the most wonderful story about a scammer. There was a lady in the next town who was recently convinced to draw a large amount of cash out of her bank account and put it in a box and meet a car in a parking lot and hand the box over. After a few days, she realized how foolish she been and she called the police. She described the vehicle and the men in it. It turns out, the police had stopped the men and talked to them about a tail light that was out on their car. There was a record of the vehicle’s make model and license plate and the driver’ driver license, with name and address. They were soon apprehended.
Really enjoy your wee chats Ilona...by the way your hair is looking fabulous 💖
Yes, if I get a call my dog howls like a banshee, they dont even speak, they just put the phone down. Haha, its bloody hilarious.
I think they dial several numbers at the same time, and speak to the first person who picks up.

😂😂😂
They are really lovely. So well done. Would never have thought of that!!😊
Hi mean queen! Enjoy listening to you.
Please everyone don't ever get complacent thinking you know what the scams are. There are new ones coming out all the time and if you have never heard of a particular scam you could get caught out.
People need to swap information. They need to talk about scamming. Not everybody has an analytic brain and believe everything they are told.
Your cute lovely lady this is such a great topic❤❤❤❤❤
love the fabric I have had scammers tell them to go and knit a jumper and put the phone down love the video it's good you telling the story and helping others think not to do it. I dont do bank online I go to my bank. I have cash in my purse dont use my card.
It so sad that people actually trust a complete stranger on the phone 😢.
Your hair looks so good. Long hair really suits you ☺️
£4,000 is a massive amount of money. The only thing I say to these scumbags that try to con people is a simple f off! 😊.
Hi Mean Queen, brilliant, very good advice indeed! I couldn’t believe how silly she was either!🙄🙄🙄🥰🥰🥰
It's good that she went on National Radio and told her story.
Totally agree Ilona, trust no one about your financials. Pretty fabric. Blessings to all ❤
I never give out information a person is asking for trouble
Wow very professional x

That woman was crazy
It did seem like a crazy thing to do, but who knows how any of us would react when put under pressure. Look out for your neighbours and friends.
Honestly I find it hard to comprehend how stupid people can be.i know someone who thought they could get a discount on their car tax from a fake site.honestly when has a goverment body given out discounts lo.
Yes, fake sites are a bugbear. Anyone can set up a scamming site. I pay my car tax in cash at a post office. The old fashioned ways are best.

Heigh-ho! In the US fabric bunting isn’t used, but it’s a lovely craft. I might have to give it a go. Your scarf is pretty
Maybe we all should start a trend?
your bank or pension never call you.....
No, never. See reply to sjbutler.
