Lovely visit with you Ilona. I agree, worked 40 yrs and didn’t go out the house without makeup on the face. Took some adjustment on my part, but I hardly put it on since retirement 4 yrs ago. I just go out with a smile on my face now. Take care and be safe 🇺🇸🌴♥️
OOOoooohhhhhh white lipstick! Yes! Carnaby Street...(spelling??) I loved it! Actually, a person would put the white lipstick on first, then a deeper color over that to make a new, lighter shade. It was fun. The models all had heavy eye makeup, so the lighter lip made the eyes stand out even more. I don't wear make up as such any more, either. But I love Nivea cream as it is such a great moisturizer. Also Boom Sticks are perfect for older women who don't like the look and feel of make up any more. I liked your video a lot.
All that makeup would cost a fortune today. I’m also 75 and love to wear my makeup although my husband says I don’t need it. I’ve watched all your videos Illona and loved hearing about your life. You were a stunner but you are still lovely now x
I remember my first makeup I bought. A gorgeous shiny metallic blue eyeshadow from Woolworths when I was 11 in 1979. Haha it was hideous but I thought it was the bees knees . When I was younger I was frightened to go out the house without makeup because of being judged now I don't give a toss. I wish young uns realised they're beautiful just as they are.
Great photo illona ,I think I will always wear makeup and dye my hair & streak it too haha not for others but for myself. No7 & 17 takes me back.No7 is still popular.Bodyshop white musk has always been my body spray, they say it’s changed though 😊
Oh that made me laugh Ilona, especially no.17😅 You look lovely without makeup Ilona. I find makeup bit of a chore and often can't be bothered with it. Hope you have a good week Xxx
You look so beautiful Illona in that picture! I agree with you about makeup after a certain age. You have the same age as my mum even as a young woman, I never remember her to put on make up. She had the odd lipstick and blusher to wear to weddings but other than that nothing! She likes her perfumes though! As for myself, even as a young adult I don't remember to wear a lot of make up. I just like to take good care of my face nourishing it rather than painting it! I am 46 and I have already stopped wearing mascara and eyeshadow I just enhance my features with little on! I really enjoyed this video! I do enjoy all your videos you are such a mother figure! Thank you wonderful Illona!
I don’t wear make up! Have rarely worn it throughout my life and I’m 46. If I do use it I use eyeliner. Don’t use styling products on my hair either. Lovely video as always xx
That was a lovely photo of you Ilona, very attractive.l probably saw it at the time as l always used to buy the Chat.l am older than you and still wear makeup always have done.Nothing over tbe top just stops making me look washed out.I have body dysmorphia never liked looking in mirrors.Thats why l never go to a hairdresser those mirrors are horrendous.Really enjoyed this video.
Upon rising, I wash my face and put on a SMILE and am all set. Do use a moisturizer in winter for seasonal dry skin though. I feel like I’m suffocating with make up all over...👵🏻
You were very glamorous and there was nothing wrong with your face but we are all good at finding ourselves wanting. I used to wear make up when I was young too but now enjoy just washing my face and using a bit of Simple moisturiser and vaseline on my lips. I am very pale so I might treat myself to a creamy blush that won't aggravate my dry sensitive skin. I do like lipstick but just a touch on special occasions. Can't be bothered with eye stuff and hate mascara but my sight is so bad and my eyes so sensitive that I couldn't put it on now anyway. I do love nice light perfumes especially when they are a good price and a bottle lasts for ages. My hair has grown very long and I like to wear it up in a velvet scrunchie or just brush it out and wear a light scarf. Mum used powder and maybe I could buy a powder that would give me a wee boost because I don't like being ghostly white but I wouldn't like to look like a circus clown either. I only ever used my fingers to put on make up but they use fancy brushes these days. It's fun watching and listening to you Ilona great to see you. Enjoy the Autumn days and take good care of yourself. Vera in Northern Ireland ❤
Can you just imagine all the kids now with the trout pout , boob implants, bum implants and the tattooed eyebrows and tattoos in general when they are our age?? OMG what a sight that will be!!! Your picture is beautiful and lovely to look back on... What a lovely photo. Such nice memories for you of the photoshoot. The vintage makeup brings back memories of my teenage years, but I haven't worn any for donkey's years! They say it harbours bacteria, so it should be disposed of after a year or two, but maybe that's to get you to buy more! 😂 I don't like to see older ladies with caked on powder that's gathered in their creases. Hi Ilona, wow! Lovely photo of you at age 41. . Are you familiar with Anna Wintour ? She works for Vogue. She wears make up and she is in her 70's. Yes, your hair looks nice. Maybe the person thought it would look better when you are on camera. Since retired, I only wear to church or if a special occasion. Not much a bit of blush and powder and eyebrow color.
You know, I am 2 and a half decades younger, and I've stopped wearing makeup because of the pandemic. I used to put on a full face and do my hair whether I was going anywhere that day, or not. What a lovely trip down memory lane. I don't wear make up now either (I'm 68). Never really wore that much in the first place but have owned loads. Sadly it's no longer considered hygienic to use after 12 months of opening the product. Marketing ploy?? I kept all mine in an artists cantilever storage box. Then needed something to put my sewing stuff in so binned pretty much all of the make up. I kept a couple of things which now go in a tiny make up bag (that would go in a handbag). Still not used them. Some of the many brushes were kept and now part of my art supplies. I used mascara and lipstick on my wedding day. Otherwise, i wear no makeup. Almost 40 years no makeup, im now almost senior and i get told how young i look because of my skin. Being natural feels great. And you look great too!
I used to put quite a lot of make up when i was young. For me it was like drawing à picture for 10mn every morning. 😊 Now i am more aware of the health risk it leads to so i still have very little make up for work but no more elsewhere 😊😊😊😊

My other half always says you look lovely just as you are and you don’t need makeup ☺️. Enjoy your chats!
Now i am more aware of the health risk it leads to so i still have very little make up for work but no more elsewhere 😊😊😊😊
I'm 63 and still have my teenage makeup.my favourite is no 7 face translucent powder.i still have my very first eye shadow small tray.all lilacs and purples, guess when I'm gone nobody would ever guess they were vintage lol
Thank you for showing us your old makeup. I was obsessed with make up in the 70’s, 80’s & wouldn’t leave the house with a full face on. These days I still enjoy wearing make up but much lighter. The cost of most make up today is astronomical!
Love the cardigan you're wearing!❤
A lovely picture...you still have great hair!
What a lovely picture of you..a wonderful keepsake. My mother in law, regarding makeup, would say "you're bonny enough without it". I do like a bit of makeup but can't always be bothered these days.
Fabulous photo, Ilona 🥰
That's a lovely photo of your 41 year old self Ilona. I've probably only worn make up infrequently as a young adult. It just doesn't suit me, never has! I prefer to look natural.
