Should be called "Who can beat Ryan". We all know who is number 1.
yeah if it didnt sound so disrespectful, thats exactly what it is.
also notice how there isnt even a question mark behind the statement hahha
How about "Who's number 2" because we know who #1 is.
@@WillBilly425 🤣
so true
Gordon is so aware of Boehms tapping hand, he had his eye on it the entire time he was hunting that armbar. Boehm barely tapped and Gordon instantly let go. Didn't crank crazy or anything. His lvl of awareness for his opponents safety is pretty wild
Still broke his arm lol
How does Gordon make it look so easy against monsters? It’s truly amazing Jiu Jitsu.
Or is it?
Which monsters has he beat? When he goes against legit guys like Buchecha he goes the distance
@@rxnupe Cyborg is one top tier ultraheavy off the top of my head.
@@jholmes45 and Roger tapped him- Gordon has never tapped anyone on the level of Marcelo Garcia. If you just look at who Roger has tapped vs who Gordon has tapped it's no debate that Roger tapped greater talent than Ryan. This is really not a knock on Ryan he can't help whose out there to compete, but Roger's quality of victories far better than Ryan.
Also, Roger tapped a prime, younger version of Cyborg-where Gordon tapped a much older version of Cyborg.
@@rxnupe that "shhhh" was for people like you 😂😂😂
Ryan: Alright, let's do this.
Boehm: Don't touch me bro!
Gordan Ryan is definitely in the debate of the greatest of all time. Danaher is hands down the best coach ever in my opinion.
I disagree
@@icyog128 You make a compelling case.
@hngryghozt you must be a white belt, welcome to jiu-jitsu
@@icyog128He sounds perfectly reasonable to me. You on the other hand sound like one of those trolls Gordon is always talking about.
in no-gi there is no debate
They both are truly great tacticians of BJJ. Gordon is excellent in attaching quickly in the transitions. It was a great match.
I train at 10th P oside where Boehm trains and he’s built like captain America. Gordon Ryan is something different
Been watching flograppling for a while now and I've become a big fan of Gordon Ryan the man in a BAMF ...a true talent
Gordon but scooting forward like, "c'mon man, I gotta run errands after this"
Is this how all matches are? They both looked like they had no interest in this match.
Love watching this guy, true master
Thanks for posting this
Would love to hear Gordon Ryan trash talk out loud in this quiet library environment. Would make him the true heel
Rick Darringer is the best grappler I’ve ever seen
rob hahhaha yes!
I was thinking calling out school instructors and people that own bbj schools would be a dic move. lol
Anything to make this more exciting. I was bored beyond belief
Freaking love this format
Every time I watch GR it always reminds me of when a lion has taken down a gazelle and is effortlessly preventing its escape
Okay Conor 😆
This is america nobody knows what that is
Beautiful match by Gordon… his style is so simple but beautiful and efficient
Another flawless performance by Ryan!
The scary thing about Gordon Ryan is watching him make elite black belts look like blue belts
Monster on the mat. Awsome to watch !
Incredible stuff Gordon.
Очень круто 👍
I love watching Ryan Jiu Jitsu
Rolled with Kyle this weekend in Amsterdam. Wasn’t a good time at all.
save yourself some time, forward to 14:43 they just walk in circles till then.
Exactly. This is a dumb sport if this is all it is.
Muito difícil lutar com um adversário que está determinado a apenas fugir a luta inteira.
Omg this guy is awesome.. crazy..
Kyle had been training for only 4.5 years when this match happened. Insane.
14:42 "get out of that, Kyle!" thx, captain obvious xD
Jiu Jitsu is either quick attacks to through someone off guard or a long battle of who will waste more energy.
Yes and no. For us laymen we will see it like that but for these great people are playing chess.
@@bigdee1216nah bro it's just an incredibly lame and boring sport. He could've submitted him in 2 minutes but they just sat around doing nothing. Literally nothing. Every 3 minutes it was like "ok let's try hard first 6 seconds then back to doing nothing. Agreed?" 😂
Please fix the post fight interview audio. Run a direct line. Not sure why you would use audio recorded with all that feedback. Couldn’t understand a word of it.
Bah bah bah bah, I'm Loving It😂🤣
Judging by the thumbnail I’d say Gordon Ryan’s still doin the damn thang
Lol, was just thinking the same thing, I just started the video but that looked like it was strapped on TIGHT! Can't wait to see what happens.
God damn that submission looked nasty. That little twist at the end putting pressure on the shoulder was .... ouch.
Would be dope if u put dates in the info. Save me a lot of time googling every match to check chronology. Love the vids tho :)
Welcome to flo grappling. Haha. Unorganized as hell but we don't really have another option.
but you ain't gonna share your knowledge either?
@@matpond Jun 5, 2020
😂 was about to do the same thing.
12 minutes and 25 seconds is so impressive when you predict to submit someone this skilled in under 10..I have seen some impressive achievements, but this is near the top of the list!
Where is this venue?
O cara é perigoso o tempo todo ...
Gordon is a Beast!!!!!
Gordan will truly be the GOAT if he dominates at ADCC this year.
He's the goat
this aged well!
@@bradbently He missed one sub so no GOAT. I'm joking what a run that was for him. I thought he was going to finish Galvao with that leg lock in the opening minutes.
@@nathangilbert1344 yeah man, i thought he would get the finish there too, but thats bjj lol!
@@bradbently I'm not sure that it was bjj as much as pure desperation😂 kudos to him for turning out and squaring the hips but he yanked that leg like it was in a lit volcano😅 All fair player Galvao is a legend in his own right!
Any tips for enjoying spectating more? This is worse than golf for me. I’ve got some physical problems and can’t participate. I wonder if you have to partake to appreciate the sport.
I was thinking the same thing. How can anyone be entertained by this?
Is this from a much older match or is it recent?
Man Gordan is a wizard - I don’t even understand how Gordon went from bone going for leg lock to scrambling for back control
Kyle was trying the Brendan Schaub strat for the first half, not a great plan
He completely shut Gordon Ryan down at the beginning
🤣🤣🤣🤣, yeah he shut down his guard 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 fing funny
@@otownwalrus Yeah he did an amazing job at standing up and walking away over and over
@@otownwalrusthey didn't even do anything in the beginning except walk in circles. The first 10 minutes was like watching paint dry
wow, just wow
Was that a kind of shoulder lock from the triangle when he pulled on his elbow for the tap?
Same motion and breaking mechanism as an Americana.
Yeah Gordon explicitly considered that win an Americana.
Was that a wrist lock?
It was an interesting Americana variation. Pulling the elbow to put pressure on shoulder, yes. Not an arm bar, which I assumed it was at first. Very clever jiu jitsu.
Put the date on the video title
Using the technique of Pena wich he was used :)
Wasn’t Kyle fresh off the coca in this match?
Knew he could do it, but still awesome bout
Can someone fill me in on Gordan Ryan? And how you score these bouts? I'm new to Jiu jitsu. I regularly watch UFC, but I'm not ignorant to the differences.
😂 not sure how mma has anything to do with this. I'm not sure how this particular match is scored, but usually: submission wins automatically, you get points for sweeping (putting person on top on bottom) and pinning (maintaining side control, or mount, or back). Gordon is in a lot of sub-only matches, which means no points.
@@aplus1080 I was just trying say in a respectful way that I have very little knowledge of Jiu Jitsu outside of how I see it used in mma. I'm not sure why that offended you man.
@@IvanOrdell Gotcha. thanks man
rules were explained in the beginning of the video, go until someone taps, that's it. no points.
man those are some dickhead answers. That's not how we'll get new people into our sport.
GR is the best nogi grappler in the world. At the moment he is basically untouchable. This being a no time limit sub only match, the only way to win is via tap. In the last few weeks, there were some sub only matches that went way to long. Sub only is pretty boring to watch in my opinion.
If you are looking for some more action jiu jitsu, I highly recommend the ADCC coming up in a few weeks. It's the biggest grappling tournament on the planet and they have a ruleset that makes it much more entertaining to watch.
hope that helps :)
I would’ve paid a month to watch that but not a whole year…
Jun 5, 2020
Just started watching BJJ videos. Ryan is the Biz. Would love to learn from him.
You can if you pay stupid money or be good enough to join where he trains in austin
🐐
Didnt see any 10th planet shit being displayed
Geez that was nice, if he didn't break your arm you were going to sleep all at the same time. that came out of no where.
He might be that likeable but goddamn is Gordan good
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Watching these reminds how that need to add sticking to simulate a real threat! That’s all that’s missing in the sport!
Was this match recent?
2019 or 2020 i think.
Everyone I see face gordon has the same strategy. Avoid engaging so you don't get submitted. Dude is playing wide open and everyone is still afraid.
The big Ed Challada.
We have come Full Circle from 1993 when Gracy entered the ring, he dominated because nobody spent time on the ground fwd 30 years later, we got but walking....
Where's the sound?
Broke back mountain 😂 8:42
❤
No time-limit, submission only jiu jitsu is what we need, to prevent the art from degenerating into a for-point-only sport
juiced to the gills
We need to make Mr.Gordon fight animals now.
Who is kile?
Tons of MMA guys immediately started practicing ripping the shoulder off with their triangle/armbar
Mma guys would destroy these dudes
Can someone explain the intro to me. 1:24 They said Gordon was 2 and 0 but he is a 3 time ADCC champion and #1 PFP.
I'd like to see Bravo v Ryan
igual debe poner presión que danaher esté mirándote todo el rato
You can tell the 2 different mindsets. Kyle looked like his goal was to survive the longest, Gordon came to submit.
Sidenote, on the commentary, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say the word Patented "Pain-Tint-ted" before at around 9:40 lol
This is the guy Lex Freidman thought MIGHT be able to beat a bear or lion?
If you arent looking at that sweep at 9 minutes in. ya fuckin up. I am gonna move steal. All systems go
"Still the best thanks for wondering"
This is why people hate him, but this is why I'm a fan
isnt this an old match?
Literally every match on UA-cam is.
Note for myself:
8:50 Bottom 1/2 Guard Sweep
9:57
i grapple at 10th but i dont watch a lot of grappling which is why i probably suck lol. anyway this is fucking amazin!!!!!
Wow
Besides Galvao, how many world champions has he beaten in his last 10-15 matches?
He’s very good yes, but who is he beating? He’s beating good guys, game guys, but not world champions.
He submitted Galvao but Andre is 40 years old.
In the last 5 years, when Gordon rough Simoes, Rocha, and Buchecha (all gi or nogi world champions) he either won off decision or like 1-0.
When he starts submitting world champions under the age of 35, I think we can start to give him more cred.
good match kyle did better than a lot of others
Yea cuz he ran the entire time
@@armon8399 na he played guard and attempted leg locks . in playing guard he managed to get his leg attacks off rather than just getting smashed. he forced gord to look for another opportunity, hence the triangle/armbar
@@deathofaclown this is called stalling. If someone is willing to take bottom position in grappling you should run through them like a train
Kyle played on bottom Gordon couldn’t pass the entire time.
Yeah, the first half he looked extremely tentative but after Gordon took top Kyle actually engaged in the attacks and forcing Gordon to actually work.
I think a lot of guys lose to Gordon not only because he is a superior grappler but also because they respect his game way too much to the point they're afraid to play their own game.
You can respect your opponent, but you can't give him too much respect to where you effectively shut your own game down.
so did this just happen?
14:09
This is the golf of combat sports lol 😂
True, but it's more like cricket or something like than 😄... they definitely needs to evolve this isn't last stage.
He talks shit but he backs it up I love him :)
Lol it's a dial-up judge.
Yo my boi is from Jersey?! City boys up.
These commentators are too over the top. No need to keep talking if you have nothing to say...guy literally says that Gordon is trying to make a statement by showing his new techniques and new technologies...New technologies?!? I had no idea Gordon was in the innovative technology field as well?
They are beta males
ERROR 404: NO PUNCHES TO THE FACE FOUND
kyle is a tank lol
Kyle is literally on a small dose of mushrooms during this match. Must have been one hell of an experience.
Really? qrd?
Probably not enough to really trip dude. Come on
Kyle proved that he is the most cautious, non-engaging grappler on the planet. Well done! He knows he's going to lose, he just wants to make sure it lasts a long time.
You can tell he is a true student of Geo Martinez.
was this match today?
@@joesfreshaquatics6488 no this was many months ago
@@masoncampbell3011 thanksbro
I mean he won west coast trials..
Who’s here after Rogan podcast? Yea me..
😍
why do i feel like ive seen this before
😂
😂
GOrdon looking a lot less juicy in this match.
And even He was juiced. 90% of the Elite BJJ practioners are on smth. in big Tournaments. Did you See Galvao at Adcc 2019
