This is so cool. I used to print 8x10 photos at walmart, apply them to adhesive magnetic sheets and cut them all out by hand. That method took so much time and effort. I definitely want to try this method.

Thank you for this video! I am having an issue though when it comes to cutting. For some reason it is cutting each piece out of my design, not the perimeter. I am using the Avery magnet sheets. HELP!!!
Hi Angie! I've watched your video and purchased a deep-point blade and magnetic sheets. However, every time I try, my Cricut explore will not cut all the way through the magnetic sheet. Any tips on how to get this to work? Thank you!!
I love your videos. I have learned so much from you. I’m making save the date magnets and I would like to know if I can use cricut pens on the printable vinyl so I can put it on the magnet sheets.
Hi! Love this.. I was trying to do my vinyl sticker paper on the magnet and when I do the cut for some reason it’s shifting.. I saw how you were not worried about lining yours up but mine didn’t cut exactly where my picture was. Any idea why?
A few things - if your sticker paper is shiny that will throw off the sensors. Cover the black lines with matte tape. Second you can calibrate print then cut and get it more accurate.
For the small intricate pieces on the spool 🧵 would you have done a offset to keep it attached. It looks so delicate, on the third method you done with the magnet sheets and printable vinyl sheet??
I used the setting for magnets. You can click custom and set your own if you would like. Here is a video on how do to that: ua-cam.com/video/EmUR16HQ-4o/v-deo.html
Is the dip point blade is the black blade is needed to people who have the knife blade are these 2 for different applications!? if so i will order one since i got almost all of them but i thought the dip point is for the cricut models that don't have the knife blade.
They are two completely different applications. Fine point is what was with your machine. Deep point goes a little deeper and can be used with all machines. Knife blade goes really deep and is only used with the Maker.
Hello, thank you for this ! I love your video's, so easy to understand. However I don't understand how to put a text with the design. Mine just didn't print out readable. Also where does a person get designs for the magnetics?
You would need to flatten any text to a shape and turn off bleed. Try this one for making stickers to explain the design process: ua-cam.com/video/TmNGMjeUCis/v-deo.html
I have not set up my cricut explorer 3 yet, but when you say you ran the magnetic paper through your printer, you meant your actual laser home printer??
It looks like you were able to print and cut a bit larger than what it allows me to do. Can you tell me how you got it to print larger? I feel like it wastes so much when you can't use most of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I'd hate to waste that much on a magnet sheet.
also what the difference between Bonded -Fabric Blade + Housing or the rotary blade which is used to cut fabric!? do i need them both? each for a different job?
Hi! Thanks for another comprehensive video! I have magnet sheets that are the cricut brand. Can I use them? Embarrassed to admit that I have the deep cut blade but have not used it. Can it be used in the same housing as the fine point blade. I’m using a maker for this. You’re the best!
Angie, question for you. Do you think the blade you used here would cut thru thin cork adhesive that you line the bottom of coasters? Right now I have to attach them, then cut with exacto knife around the wooden 4” coasters. I think it would look nicer if these could be cut ahead of time and then attached. Just thought I would pick your brain. Thanks.
@@AngieHolden I got the rotary blade for my Maker. Hoping to try cutting the thin cork adhesive for the backs of my coasters. I didn’t see cork or cork board listed in materials. Do you have any tips for what material I should use? Which mat to use? I want to try this. TIA
I tried two sheets of Avery magnet sheets and the Cricut shredded both sheets. I used 1.0 and .5 settings. Any suggestions? The blade was a new deep cut Cricut blade.
@@AngieHolden It was an image inside a square box with rounded corners. I think it was the mat, It cut out the image correctly then destroyed it. I put it on a brand new green mat because that was the only new one and it worked. Thanx for the reply. I had it on a Stronggrip when it didn't work but it was a couple months old.
@@AngieHolden Good morning, When I try to use print then cut it takes it in and scans it but never starts cutting. It just slides it back out. I contacted cricut and had a representative help me and it still doesn't work. I have the cricut explorer air 2 and everything else works fine.
Perhaps email me. I would like to see the canvas and what you are trying to print then cut and how you have the project set up before commenting on this!
I think I would do a laminate or a clear vinyl over the top. I have not tried it but I think it would work. Similar to the car decals here: ua-cam.com/video/593RB8Be2s8/v-deo.html

Force. It is hard but they will move.
Great video!! I’m wondering if there would be a way to get a gloss finish for it? Maybe a seal or clear adhesive vinyl over the image?
I would add a laminate layer over the top. There are several on the market.

There is a thicker magnet sheet setting. Maybe try that one. You might have gotten thicker sheets than I have here.
hi! i'm curious: would applying a laminate to the vinyl + adhesive magnet sheet pre-cutting help in preserving the details once it's cut?
Oh maybe!

Printable magnetic sheet. Hands down!
What cut settings did you use for the explore machine to cut the material?
There is a magnet setting for the Explore.
What do the wheels have to do with certain cuts ? I’ve only don’t two cuts and never changed them but what is reason for that
They can dig in and marr thicker materials that are soft.
I have not set up my cricut explorer 3 yet, but when you say you ran the magnetic paper through your printer, you meant your actual laser home printer??
It is an inkjet printer but yes I printed on my home printer.
Angie do you find it easier to do the printable adhesive magnetic sheets rather than the print then cut?
I generally do the printable sheets with print then cut.
Very cool. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!

I just did the maximum which is 6.75 x 9.25 inches. By the time you get the box on there, that is a full sheet of paper.

Gloss would work as well if you can find them.
hi i checked cricut but i did not see thee 1.00 mm magnetic sheet material setting.
It was there on mine but they do change things all the time! You can try like a heavy cardstock setting depending on your magnet.
Cool idea.
Glad you think so!

You're welcome!
Can you use the knife blade instead of the deep point blade?
I don't think so. I think that would cut way too deep.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
how did you get it to cut blank magnet paper?
You would just do cut lines and cut the material.
Love it!
Thanks!!
Hello. I want to create my own magnet. How do I cut out the whole image and not the individual parts?
Flatten the pieces to a shape that you want to cut out. So pick all of your pieces plus say a circle and click flatten.
Thank you Angie. And do I have to use the "offset?
You can use it if you want white around the outside. If you don't, you do not have to!
