    Thanks for this. FYI...I have a Cricut Air Explore 2 and I was able to get similar results with 30mil magnets by creating a custom material with 350 pressure and the deep knife blade with 3x passes. It doesn't cut all the way through but it looks similar to what you get. My problem is that the sticker paper didn't seem to stick as well to my magnet sheet.

      Also...I have magnet paper that is sticky and printer paper that is sticky. Is that correct? Looks like your magnets sheet is not sticky.

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  3 роки тому

      My magnets sheets are not sticky - as long as the sticky sides of each are stuck together, I wouldn’t think that would be an issue. However sometimes the adhesives have a texture, so make sure that anything like that doesn’t show on the surface. Happy crafting!

    Hi! Great tutorial. Have you done this with magnets that don’t have smooth edges? Most of what I cut has offset that is curvy, not solid like a circle or square. Hope that made sense.

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  3 роки тому +1

      Absolutely! Many of the custom order magnets I do are die-cut, the intricate cuts come out pretty well.

      @@FreestyleTravelShop thank you. I was asking because I currently use a cameo 4 and cannot for the life of me get 30mil magnet to cut. It maybe goes halfway through. And I’ve tried everything. I see other cricut users making magnets and I’m thinking of switching back.

    • @Rebecca-wp9pi

      This is my question, what do you put on top to protect it for use on a vehicle.

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  3 роки тому +3

      Not necessarily - you can add an acrylic sealer to it to make it waterproof. The laminate helps for an occasional splash of water. Over time with repeated water contact, the ink could bleed

    I'm a little confused on the list of supplies.
    do we need all the supplies?
    Magnets
    Weatherproof Matte Sticker Paper
    Oraguard 215 Laminate Film Sheets, Matte (didn't use)
    Oraguard 215 Laminate Film 150’ Roll, Matte
    8.5”x11” 30mil Magnet Sheets

    Hi! I went to your blog to get the links for the supplies you use. I also checked out the blog related to machine cut settings that was updated 3/31/2021 and saw that the settings for magnets is different that what you used in the video. What is the difference between cutting the thinner tooling leather with more pressure and the thicker tooling leather with more pressure? How many passes does the new setting make? Does the new setting cut completely through the magnet? Thanks

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 роки тому

      I found that using the thicker tooling leather setting was better because even though it's still slow, it's significantly faster than the thinner tooling leather setting. I think the thick setting is at 12 passes, and the thinner version was close to 20 passes!

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  3 роки тому +2

      That can be tough - your calibration would have to be absolutely 100% accurate. My suggestion would be to just cut the shape for the magnet and then apply the sticker on top
