Good to see this Again , i think this was in 2016 , Guy Martin is a one off. Great Guy. Would love too see him try again one day, if any Brit can do it , he will.
This looks sketchy as all hell. I had to laugh out loud the second time he crashed. Thank God he did it at such low speeds. At 400 miles an hour, he'd be dead.
Watch Guy Martin speak on .75 speed and you can understand him...

@@joel1418 yeah the more you listen to him the more you can understand him I'm more talking about people who complain in the comments about not being able to understand a thing he says cause of his accent. I couldn't understand him at first but I listen to him at regular speed now. That's just something I did when I first started watching him years ago.
@@Jaqen-HGhar I'm not a natively English speaking person nor do I practice it every day, but he's quite reasonably understandable with his speak. there are some of which sound bit of mumbling, but context will translate it or let you guess the part of mumbling.
Probably there are less adept persons around who couldn't cope with the accent.
I know Guy's the man, but his boss on this job is just swell!

Racing on salt is a steep learning curve before you come to terms with it, I can only imagine how weird it is in a bike liner!
How does salt feel in a car, since I can about estimate how it´d feel on a bike (longtime CC and DH mountainbiker, insanity levels can be the same, just not the speeds :) I´m guessing salt will feel a bit like harsh, prepared snow ) ?
When is the best event to go to Bonneville ?
@@AntalopeAUT You're actually kind of right. Traction is limited & the surface can vary in a few hours or days over the whole course. The years of mining at Bonneville has depleted the salt crust thickness down to nothing & cars can actually peel it up now.
Lake Gairdner in Aus now has the best salt.

@Janusha We northern English speak a mix of Anglos-Saxon-Jute. I'm from West Yorkshire and can understand Dutch, Danish and Norwegian speech but not Swedish.

GM is a Legend, if anyone can make 400 mph, it's him. Shit, the dude does 200 mph on an unlevel curved course like it's nobody's business. And, the Bonneville is a straight run, pfft.. I think his massive balls caused an uneven center of gravity. That's why he crashed at the Salts... Lol

Marcello Lorusso have you listened to any what is known as Midlands Black Country? Gornal and gornal wood are well known to be hard to understand to the residents of either place,talking to each other,only about a mile apart!

I made my first trip to the salt flats last August. The surface is surprisingly slippery.
It's 5meters long and sitting position, 2 engines and low to the ground much the same as riding a skate board sitting.
300klmh on a bike no worries 200 in a cocoon no thanks.
But Guy's a multitalented racer so he'll be back for it.

Mate, seriously, it's not rocket science to see that this is an undrivable shit box. This was at 70 Mph, imagine at 700 ... You'll be dead 10 times. Dying for dying, it's not worth it !! And when you're dead it is really hard to put butter on bread...Trust me !!!

I thought I was going crazy reading all the hopeless fanatics and growing more and more frustrated watching this over drawn out land speed attempt. One highly technical (and essential) item is missing from the design. It is called a Gyroscope.
