"I Started Having Mental Fog and Depletion of Energy" | How Doug Changed His Brain

  • When Doug Sutton began to experience symptoms of mental fog and fatigue, he started doing research to find out what was going on. However, no matter how diligently he searched, he couldn't find answers. Doug became consumed with increasing anxiety and fear until he began to feel he couldn't take it anymore.
Finally, Doug heard about Amen Clinics and decided that he may be able to find the answers he was looking for by getting a brain SPECT scan. What they found in Doug's scan was that the cause of all of Doug's problems came from a single, unlikely source. Armed with answers and a treatment plan, Doug's outlook changed dramatically.
Three months later, Doug returned to the clinic to see what his brain looked like, now that he had been taking steps to improve his brain health. The difference in the scan was incredible, and it was a validation that all the work he was putting in paid off.

If you noticed your screen time going up example spending 5 hours etc a day on youtube and social media watching all these different videos studies show its called scatter brain this is a major contributor to brain fog and also procrastination is second try staying off youtube or social media for just a couple of days let the brain relax do nothing start completing task such as cleaning ur place or paying backed up bills etc try it for just 2 days of no internet u notice ur brain fog be no more it will be harder than you think and dont go on the internet because u completed a few task as a reward u will be more motivated and focused and sharp and you will realize how much u can get done in that short period with no youtube etc , try it for two-three days you see

This was great, I have been researching "causes of foggy brain feeling" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Gansabella Peerless Genie - (just google it ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for discovering how to eliminate your limiting brain fog minus the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my neighbour got excellent success with it.

Very true. I’m having brain fog from tight shoulder/neck (including SCM) pulling onto the base of skull, into the ear (w/tinnitus), and upwards to the back and side of the head. A lot of stretching has calmed down the tinnitus, headaches and nerve pains in the head, but the brain fog is extremely stubborn. Seems like the neurons are over firing. Gabapentin helps a lot w/both anxiety and brain fog, although not completely.

B12 injections. I promise you. Every second day until the symptoms ease. Then find your own sweet spot. Take folate tablets too. Omega 3 is great but the b12 remyelinates nerves. You need to do the first shot in a medical setting to make sure you aren't allergic.

I was living in a moldy house, unknown for a year. After several practitioners one mentioned mold toxicity. My new PCP doesn’t believe in mold toxicity or the urine mycotoxins test I had. He thinks my several physical issues are just mental. Not sure who to believe anymore.

    • @brendanj1124

I would argue for a better primary care practitioner who has a clue what their doing in their job.
It of course affects a lot of things. Potentially your Thyroid hormone does not function properly. On tests it shows up as accurate an healthy. But in the body it doesn't actually get utilized properly so a test will not indicate whether or not the body has ability to regulate other systems regarding potential hypothyroid . likely because of constant activations of your immune systems it will leave cortisol chronically elevated. unless you can somehow manage to balance this equation. likely that issue with this equates to your cortisol levels eventually burning out. and something like adrenal insufficiency fast takes over.
it can take upwards of a year for your body to clear these symptoms out of the body but also my guess is holistically attacking it by whatever systemic means possible is probably your best bet
your energy levels or mitochondria are going to be compromised from the effects of afflotoxins and or volatile organic compounds, this means your vitamin B1 levels are going to be probably chronically low, or your going to be using up more cause it uses up b1 fighting infections
also your gut microbiome is going to be another starting place. perhaps these bugs an mold get into your stomach an then upset the flora depending what your routine is like an diet etc etc
foods like some starches can amplify effects make you sleepy because of amylose, an also multiply the bad bacteria where as i think some pre-biotics can have the reverse effect so indigestible plant fibers and stuff, sugars basically can make it worse in some ways. im no where near a dietitian though. i do know that some foods can clear mold an fungus parasites like lemongrass manuka honey tea, or eucalyptus infusion made carefully, (essential oils can be dangerous,--- essential fatty acids on the other hand. are good energy/calories in most cases, help protein synthesis)
omega 3, another essential fatty acid, might help cellular fight inflammation also restore brain function but not in excess for risk of internal bleeding,
one part in maintain the mitochondrial integrity is that you need a lot of protein for adequate synthesis of rna and dna, if your not getting past your RDIs for protein and also other foods like essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and overall healthy plant based foods to complement an high protein an moderate carbohydrate diet focusing a lot of essential fatty acids to repair the central nervous systsem and other aspects of nervous system for the chronic fatigue aspects. imagine that vitamin b1 is cornerstone here as it gets metabolized as well every time your body uses up energy so if you need energy an look for wrong foods like empty calories stuff high calories no nutrients or cheap foods (not all cheap food is bad just most stuff that commercial or etc) basically going to mean your going to find more lethargy and less room for recovery on mitochondrial and overall level
