your amazing how you can remember all the parts you took apart and able to put them back together always baffles me about great mechanics.. congratulations on your new purchase
Came across your channel by accident. First watched the one where you were fixing the Vermeer, then watched the rest. Like the content. You got another sub.
On that Knick on the bucket cylinder shaft, I have seen many youtubers get that JB Weld steel stuff, and apply that to the Knick, and then when its good and hard, sand it smooth. Just stops the seal getting caught on it. Its by no means the right way to do it, but to get you started and prevent you having to tear it down immediately, worth a shot. Nice work getting it working
For 2 grand and a bit of time and effort - you have a dandy little machine that will certainly be fit for anything in a normal residential yard... Fantastic job, m8!!!
That was a good industrial engine. It had more than just an oil leak. It was taking on water and being run before it gave up. I would pay the premium to put another Kohler back in.
Kholers of 40+ years ago were great(k series). Anything newer is trash and not worth the hassle. They fail all the time and parts are 4x the cost of anything else; that's if you can find parts. A Honda GX series is the way to go or a Briggs Vanguard. They are almost always swapped out as they're not worth fixing. The Dingo, as an end of it's life machine will be outlived by that Chinese clone engine. That was the best choice in this scenario.
Great job with replacing the engine. Hear in the States I'd bought a Predator. It is 23hp and built almost identical to what you bought. They are very reliable and perfect for an engine swap just like that. I'm happy for you getting the Dingo back in operation. Hopefully, you will use it for years to come. Great video.
A bit of muck around to fit the new donk.I did similar engine EFI conversion on my mates stump grubber.Persistence pays off Great job mate. TIP Those fuel lines will go hard on the Chinese special
Insane deal, got a slightly larger and older ramrod unit and built a BMG style grapple for it to drag brush and firewood. It genuinely muliplies efficiency by 3x or more for the work I do
If you lightly file the damage to the cyliinder rod you can apply some jb weld and sand it, this will stop damage to the seal, I have done this to several machines with great success
I'll give you a tip young fella. Stop using your hands as hammers. Use a rubber or wooden mallet or a breaker bar to loosen tight bolts. You'll thank me for it in 20 years time. Regards, Old Tradie. 😉
Hi Bud good video when you have run it a bit take the oil out and refill not to the top leave room for Lucus oil stabiliser it's a think sticky stuff but Really make the engine very quiet and last a lot longer I've used it for years noises deisel engines go very quiet it works fantastic on petrol as well
In the short term, you could fill the small divots in the rod with jb weld and sand smooth. Would stop the seal tearing in them. Great find, these usually end up junked thru abuse.
Flip the Load backrest around its backwards. To adjust the primary lift chains raise the carrige up till it starts going into the second stage and give it .25 inch clearance between the stops on the carrige and the stops on the inner mast
I know that this is an older video. But I can see the trouble with the exhaust already. Because it's still going to heat up the hydraulic lines? Because you still have to cap off the end of the muffler. And by the time you finish the end of the muffler you are still going to be in the same situation? I probably would have gotten a different style of muffler? Or maybe make more modifications to the one that you have
Those are good engines. That's definitely due to a bad owner. I can tell you theres a demand for the crank and cam if there not damaged. With kohlers I always find the quick release oil drain is lose. Just today on a nearly brand new cub cadet with 42 hours on it. There was a small oil leak that trickled and collected on the double pulley (instead of making a puddle on the ground). Its now a knocking 25 hp twin. Im glad i stumbled on your video. Thanks
Another option is to mount the air intake on its side on the on the outside of the machine like a big truck, if you have enough intake hose to get there..
So I watched this video when it first came out, and then I went and watched all of your videos, from the very beginning to now, and rewatched this one. That Vitara has definitely become a dream vehicle of mine. You have hundreds of hours of work into it, and the thing is so sweet now. I'm looking forward to more videos of it, and all the rest of the things you've worked on over the years. Did you and your dad ever get the cabs switched on that flatbed truck at your farm?
When the water comes out of the engine and you could drink it. It’s the worst because you know there’s a chance it will run again. Not for long in most cases.
Give it a hydraulic service next mate remove the tank cover at the front and clean the tank and replace the filter. Also there are bushes in the bucket they are a brass bush tho they wear quick
Get a 670 or a 196 diesel and give her some juice also you could have just extended the headers in my opinion it would have been faster easier and neat
Awesome man, nice change of pace from the zook. Love the small side projects aye ahaha and what a deal ! my uncle had a blue one unsure of brand but i loved it. great little machines and you got that one going good fast!! keen to see the next vid on the hydraulics ahaha just had a look online aswell and 4 in 1 buckets go from like $1500-$4000 !!!! at least from what i can see. bit of hard work on the bucket might save you loads? or keep a lookout for a better condition second hand one lol
Hey mate. Why don't you just piss off that airbox altogether and run a pipe up and out the side or front. A good K&N filter on the end and you're good to go. 👍
I would have bought a new bellhousing or machined a spacer instead of cutting the motor shaft that short. There was barely any keyway left. I hope I'm wrong but I can forsee that keyway being an ongoing issue.
your amazing how you can remember all the parts you took apart and able to put them back together always baffles me about great mechanics.. congratulations on your new purchase
I used to work on these. Something that will help immensely is there’s a counterweight that sets on and pins to the foot platform.
i saw that in marketplace. pretty neat to see the video of it. was spewing when i missed it.
In new jersey?
You got one heck of a deal, super handy machines for tight quarters, easy to transport!
@jameslarson6555 was one of those 'I'm bored, let's check marketplace'
Just found the channel today. The Aussie answer to Mustie1! Love it.
Right!!!
Hard working competent mechanic. Excellent job!!!

Great job!. I like the way you modified the new engine to make it work.
Good job and you bought the dingo at a great price compaired to what they go for in America
Nice video, thanks. Your hoodie strings meeting that lathe would have made a good video also, 😉! Stay safe, and have a great weekend.
Really nice to see that there is someone that will take care of it bought it. Really nice work.

@Failure_Is_An_Option kohlers are a very good engine but for several $1000 more, I couldn't do it
A used Kohler engine might be available for an OK price + some maintenance.
@@Frank-Thoresen couldn't find one, most needed rebuild or had other issues

I bought myself a real old 610 Bobcat a while back and it's great but I sort of want that Dingo now, Great rebuild and improve on that machine. Cheers
Good work Mr.
Please tuck your hoodie strings in while running lathe😮
Shush, Darwin needs work too.
i would have fired up the "Chinesium motor" before cutting the shaft but thats "confidence" that you got it all installed before you fired it up. 🙂
@@thebanjoman1963 I had faith in the chonda
@@jaydnp. better tires are useless, you need snow chains, which work very well, almost equivalent to tracks
@BavarianSuperGuy have seen those. great idea just quite expensive compared to 4 new tyres
Put a lot of hours on one of these!

Great buy and great job getting it running!
Diagnostic videos are always a good watch.
Subbed.
I'd love to have a little dingo like this for occasional use on my block.
Thanks, very handy to have around
Really enjoyed the video.

Another awesome video Jaydn. Making old stuff. Good again. 👏👏
Great video, nice to have a machine shop!
Good job mate. Turn the engine mounting plate around and move the engine forward. It will give you more room on the step
Ok great job on the muffler I was skeptical
Great job bringing back to life. I would've rebuilt the Kohler.
Holy smackers, piston is gone lol! Never seen that before. :)

Man!!! I'd LOVE to have one of those with a couple of attachments
They are handy to have around
nice little machine perfect for small jobs and tight spaces
I could only wish of finding something like this for that sort of money, bet it’s the best thousand bucks you’ve ever spent haha
2 inch lift and a staino snorkel next!!
Stoked you got heaps of views on this one. An update on the bmw Troopy would be good.
Well done on good content .

this was fun to watch, id love to buy a mini excavator to do the same thing. Second hand ones seem a bit out of my price range for now though
What a steal mate!
Hanging to see the next vid on it!
Be a very handy machine on the job site etc
Mate you can lock the Milwaukee drill chuck by turning it back 1 click after tightening it, hole saw will never fall out again.
Nice "Mucker" $1500+. Your on Top all the way!.. getRdid!.. good job 2all Bsafe 🥶 🐲
I wonder if you can get tracks for it, like the ones for the full sized skid-steers that go over the tires? Nice buy, it should work well for ya.
As someone that is always looking for these little machines, you got a great price. As you got it in my area it would go for 3-4k with the bucket.
@FenrirFabrication they do pop up from time to time, keeping an eye open for the original dingo, would be cool
In the short term, you could fill the small divots in the rod with jb weld and sand smooth. Would stop the seal tearing in them.
Great find, these usually end up junked thru abuse.
@thebigchuckster few have said that now, may give it ago. Bucket won't get used much, so may give me a few years
Great video, really well done.
Mount that air filter on the side of the machine, just buy a radiator hose the same diameter.Nice score by the way.

I think that I would have used the drain hose from the other engine? For draining the oil, the next oil change?
I've never seen an engine that buggered up before. 😮
I wander if you can add tracks as the driver rather than the tires. It would give u much better traction. Good luck with your toy.

👌👌👍👍 Well done! Thanks for the video.
2 part epoxy, full the holes in the ram. 1000 grit wet and dry, wet sand smooth.
Great work 😍😍😍😍😍
Great job.
Spend time to fix bucket. In the US cheapest 4&1 bucket is around $1200. Dingo bucket is around $2000
@neilkratzer3182 it's looking that way, new 4in1 in Aus looking at $3000 plus
Good job🎉
Only like 5K subs too. Lets all be sure to like his video’s so he will grow.
Did you put the oil drain hose back on?
Would have loved to have found it 😊😊😊
Rotate the hole intake tube to the left 90° then mount the intake to the right side of the body.
The Dingo took my baby
On second thought raise and extend your step/stand and add a leg guard for heaven sake.

Well I just found the man of my dreams 😂 Shit dude you're very clever.
These things are probably 12K, 15K, or more?? Yeah, you got quite the score. Anything with a large hunk of steel and hydraulics is worth good money!
I don't know why you rotated the air cleaner when you even said it came with a cap and actually put it on at one point.
good show old mate
That’s a pain in the ass instead of a bargain bro
Did you try the old muffler?
Fuse blown. Replace fuse. Fuse blows . Never mind bridge fuse with wire . Oh it's very hot . What was the fuse there for again?
Get a 670 or a 196 diesel and give her some juice also you could have just extended the headers in my opinion it would have been faster easier and neat
Try a smaller air filter off a motor cycle, a smaller version of a standard car one
Hi
Instead of cutting the muffler down could the original muffler fit it? or not worth it
@gregfoster3620 unfortunately it was completely different, wouldn't fit the new engine plus was very rusted
