It's like a life-size Tonka Truck. Made in China. I'd never get out of that thing. It would be like my exo-suit, especially with the grapple-bucket. I'd be grappling all sorts of shizit, all day long.
The importance of good grounding cannot be understated. I had a 95 GMC 1500 pickup that had a starting problem for 5 years. Time and time again I thought it was low quality rebuilt starters I was getting. The summer was the worst. That starter would get hot and just not want to turn. One day I replace the positive cable and that helped, but just a little. I don't remember what made me check but the ground cable at the engine was barely there. Once I replaced that, stating issues were over. Had I ran a current draw on it, I would've seen it. Aftermarket parts, particularly starters and alternators, are so bad, I just assumed it was that.
The new ones aren't so simple. Electronic pilot controls, proportional flow valves, etc. I've got an old asphalt roller that nobody can get to work properly. Replacing components is expensive.
You can use a piece of wound guitar string (the low E or A string) in a drill like a Roto Rooter. The windings allow it to work like a speedometer cable and you can fish it in pretty far.
You know it's got to be a quality machine when the seller is pretty much bribing you to take it. "If you have it I'll throw in all this stuff as well..." 😂
if it has a turbo, dont load it stack to the wind,. it spin the turbo backwards when towing and burns them out, i never park anything so wind blows in the exhaust when driving
Sometimes it comes down to product managers making a call to get things finished so they can hit deadlines. Engineers / designers will design a super accessible engine, then the product manager will see the cost required to do that and go with a cheaper faster solution that will get them to production.
Cool mid week Mustie1 video One of my vans does the same I think it’s the contact inside the starter solenoid. I think it rotates ever so slightly on each click and I think there is a bad spot just keep bumping the starter then it’s good for a while 😂
Happy Thanksgiving Mustites !!! That Racoon machine is sold all over and some have Mitsubishi engines in them. Looking forward to upcoming videos on that.
The day before Thanksgiving, sitting in my bucket truck. The boss makes a surprise job inspection. He asks, "Is that video work related?" I reply, "Absolutely." Happy Thanksgiving, all my fellow subscribers.
Working in hydraulics and watch this its interesting to see the conclusion people come up with. Like the suction hose going above the pump to then come down.
Hey Mustie...is that Sammy Hagar? Glad to see him back on the channel. When you loaded up all that stuff and drove it home, how fast did he go? One thing is for sure sure. It wasnt 55! Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the great content!
Arghh!!! Another Wednesday video and I’m taking off for work! Happy & blessed Thanksgiving Day to you Mustie1 and your family. Enjoy a little rest and lots of yummy food!
The starter on the skid steer has weak amperage going to the solenoid not kicking the started bendix to mesh with the flywheel. I have seen this problem a couple times with a zero turn and my new holland tractor. Try replacing the relay or run a new relay directly from the battery.
Check the voltage at the starter from switch . My mower had voltage lose across safety switches. Attach a relay triggered by the start input. Connect battery voltage across the relay contacts to the solenoid input on the starter. NO voltage loss.
Just stick the word "bad" in front of "quality" and you're good to go. 🙂 That said, China CAN produce high quality goods, it's those which are made DOWN to a price that are the bad ones, this particularly applies to any really cheap stuff that has a very short lifespan and ends up in the nearest garbage bin, on the sidewalk, etc. Electronics are a sore point - just one cheap component (often a capacitor worth a few cents or far less) in an electronics circuit can cause it to fail and most people then end up throwing the device away. So that's more wasted money, more landfill .........
@@Toby_the_Glen Because of worker's rights in the US they are paid more than their sweat shop Chinese counterparts. People understandably want to pay as little as possible for their goods so they go for the cheap Chinese tat, not realising that it's not cost effective because it won't last long.
Nice to see Brian with his glorious salad again. I took offense (as a balding man) to him shaving his head. To disrespect your gifted genes like that?😞 😉 Remember Darren? You said you were gonna get him a wig? 😂 Probably not but that's cool just the same. That was a few years ago but to old guys like me (I'm 48 now) a couple years is like a couple months to the whippersnappers. lol. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Much respect from the sunny climes of southern Canada. 🫡
Seller seems like a good guy.
yep north eastern accent and personality, they are a ton of fun to hang out with.
New Englanda fa sure'a. 😉 Like Peta Griffin. 😁 I love that accent. Very American sounding to us silly Canadians.

Good guy seller and a Good guy buyer = great content! That logsplitter is nice, wouldn't mind owning one myself
My tractor had the same symptom while trying to start. It was a loose main ground from the battery to the frame.

I use guitar strings for wires to clear out small hoses and passages. Love your channel, you're very knowledgeable and interesting.
Does that make for a muddier sound when you put them back on the guitar? Lol !
Another great Mustie 1 video. Happy Thanksgiving from Texas.
Thanks Darren; great to see Brian again.😊
i find it hilarious that the skid steer's brand is "racoon" x)
And it's name is "Smoky"
its got that virus
Someone must have seen deer, bobcat, mustang, etc and thought what was a similarly impressive animal
The emblem looks more like a badger. Which would actually be a good name for a digging machine.
spelt wrong and everything.
Just like the old days, a Mustie Surprise Wednesday. Talk about Thanksgiving! Thanks Darren from George in Danvers.
Thats a cool trailer I don't think i remember seeing one do that
A pleasant surprise 🎉😊😊😊
Mustie1, That was an interesting change of pace!Congrats on the skid steer. Looking forward to that one. Thanks!
Bonus time! Another great video.
Hydraulic systems are amazing. So simple, yet so incredibly effective. Especially when you start adding lines and different dimensions of lines.
But would it make for a muddier sound when you put the string back on the guitar? Lol !
I'll bet you could interview the guy that sold that for an entire day and he's still be telling ya all the things tricks and things about that unit.
Excellent video! I really enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing with us!
Grab that troybilt tiller while you're there
The Racoon.... it should be called The Turtle. 🐢 I never saw a skid steer so slow.
At least there's little danger of anyone getting it stuck face down on the bucket.
Skid steering made in China... What could go wrong ? Pros... Temu is your parts catalog.
A nice mid-week surprise, happy turkey day Mustie..Detroit watching..
Thanks for sharing and taking us along
I'll bet he was so glad to get rid of that... 👀
You know it's got to be a quality machine when the seller is pretty much bribing you to take it. "If you have it I'll throw in all this stuff as well..." 😂
It's always good when we get a Mustie1 video in the middle of the week.😜😜😜😜
Wow mustie on a Wednesday. Now I have to put off making apple pies for an hour! 😂
Nice little unit😊..ol'smokey
Thank you mustie Happy Thanksgiving from California City California out in Mojave desert. ✌️❤️🐶
Mustie1, good start on getting the log splitter to work good. now on to the skid steer..
good morning Mustie1, thanks for your shows and your demeanor.
What a treat! I havent seen a midweek Mustie1 video in a long time!
if it has a turbo, dont load it stack to the wind,. it spin the turbo backwards when towing and burns them out, i never park anything so wind blows in the exhaust when driving
interesting, never heard of that before. Makes sense though.
Know it all until you don't 🙏
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
A midweek Mustie treat to enjoy… thank you 👍🏼
Designers really should take riutine maintenance like oil changes into account when they work.
eh, no one does those silly oil changes anyways - overrated

Ah yes, The Chinese Racoon, Very Loomy inside and no Lust underneath. Will last you very short time. Lol. Good to see you on a Wednesday.
It's not politically correct to find that funny...
But I do 🤣

100% love these Wednesday Mustie1 videos 😀 1 a month would be great Darren
That brand name is hilarious 😂
raccoon is a pretty good name, i would prefer marmot
Happy Thanksgiving Mustites !!! That Racoon machine is sold all over and some have Mitsubishi engines in them. Looking forward to upcoming videos on that.
Happy Thanksgiving to Mustie One family and friends!!!; ) Nice New Toy to play with this Winter!!!; )
Brian is there to help you, top man.
Is he 'Signing?'
Now i have to pretend I'm working for the next 50 mins while i watch this. 😁
you got it working as usual , you do good work
Musties on the skids
Wouldn't be a classic Musti1 video without a carb teardown.

Thanks 4 the surprise. China! Bobcats eat raccoons? Eeeuuuoooh!
He who has the most toys WINS!! Have fun!! Happy Turkey Day!!

lol yeah, bit odd looking, but work with what ya got in a "compact" space I guess. Metal pipe is a lot cheaper than hydraulic hoses.
Bonus Mustie video in the middle of the week. That's a good week, I say!
A rare Wednesday Mustie…..Happy Thanksgiving !!!!

Apparently 4:30 is avocado time. 🤣

He getforls with it

If the skid steer quick coupler is hard to connect, Irwin makes a quick coupler hand clamp that is nice.
Nice to see Bryan again
No, not a Bobcat........A RACOON!!!
your trailer is slick!!!!!!
It's a midweek Mustie special, always good when we get one of these
Nothing runs like a Racoon.
Mid-week Mustie1 video? AWESOME!
Check the voltage at the starter from switch . My mower had voltage lose across safety switches. Attach a relay triggered by the start input. Connect battery voltage across the relay contacts to the solenoid input on the starter. NO voltage loss.
Skidsteers hold their value forever, i wish the market here did get some cheap chinese option for homeowners
Good morning everyone happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone here
A midweek special? Thank you @mustie1!
he wants you to know everything he knows about it, that is great.
I was happy to see the last owner at first, I was thinking he died that's why you are getting all his stuff.
A thanksgiving treat from Mustie1.
You had me chuckling at the words “quality” and “Chinese” in the same sentence.
Just stick the word "bad" in front of "quality" and you're good to go. 🙂

Why are consumers buying this Chinese crap? Isn't there a US made cheap alternative?

Ahhhhh. Sooooo
Fun, midweek adventure with Mustie1.
Good afternoon all from Lincolnshire UK
good morning from south Florida!!!

"racoon". she's a keeper.

A Chinese skid loader named Raccoon.
with only one "c"
Thanks for the Video Mustie1 👍
Not trying to be nosy, but what happened to the other SkidSteer and the other UTV-like vehicles (the KeiTruck ones)?
Good times sir

Damn thing's cute as hell!
Thank you for sharing.🦝👍
Could really use a Mustie1 Troybilt tiller video right about now.. I just picked up 2 not running 👍
I have not finished watching but a guy with 2 skid steer machines seems a little greedy. 😂
Why get a bobcat when you can get a racoon, Yessss
Good stuff,
looks better than most you get
wow a Mustie midweek Black Wednesday
So do we still get our sunday video?
Wow haha I guessed it right it is a skid steer video 😮😂❤
