You're videos are great. We used to intentionally introduce Trichoderma harzianum at a forestry nursery I once worked at. We would use it on a few million douglas fir seedlings a year because it would combat fusarium and botrytis which are both big issues in styrofoam block seedling monocultures.

@@BoomerShroomerDoes hydrogen peroxide kill the bad bacterias I read it doesn't harm mushroom spawn so I was thinking off being pro active and giving the bottom off the bag the sides and top layer one gentle mist super gentle just in the hope it may catch something before it even starts...prevention over cure I guess you could say 😂 cheers

I did use the included liner but is it necessary? Also, I had some substrate left over bc I felt that if I added any more it would go way past the liner. I used a 3lb milo spawn bag and your mix of substrate if that helps 😁

Just want to say I was one of the pre-orders on the first wave of inflatable tubs and it's still doing it's job wonderfully. Haven't had to patch it yet either, quite durable. It was really cool to see a whole room full of them like that.

THankyou! I wanted to go a bit big but green mold got me down. Need to make a clean room, cover the carpet, and get an air purifier. I would have success but everything would go down hill quickly when I would try to go big or move to tubs. I did 10+ huge tubs and would never get one to finish. Need to figure this out.
So I have been fruiting for about 6 days now and I still do not see any pin formation, what could be some general reasons as to why I am not seeing any formation yet? Temp is around 75 humidity is good I think had 100% coverage and still nothing, I might be doing something wrong or I’m hoping I’m just being impatient
I believe you are supposed to sterilize (pressure cook) them, alcohol swab the injection port, then inoculation with a sterile needle. If you skipped one of those steps, the contamination is on you. (Uhm, unless you bought a dirty syringe?).

Stacking those on shelves or a full room of Martha’s seems to be the way to go. Just wondering, is there a reason for this as well?

Great videos! My question is; is contamination dangerous? I will often have a flush but there is also some green contamination as well as some white fuzz contamination. I’ve eaten some of these shrooms anyway and felt no ill effects. Thoughts?

Yes, I usually only use one bulk recipe per tub. There will be some left over that you can use for another tub but it won't be enough to do two tubs. I usually do 3 pounds of spawn and 3-5 pounds of bulk. I am not sure about rolled oats. You can store a spore print in a cool dark place. You will need to pasteurize the bulk before you use it. You will need to boil 16 cups of water and then pour it in the bucket.
I definitely have trichoderma on my substrate. My question is - can I use this monotub after I toss this batch out? Obviously I would thoroughly clean it and sprayed it down with 70% alcohol. But should I just toss the monotub and make a new one?

Second time using your mono tub, it works great. However, I would suggest sending along some kind of tray or small sheet of plywood to set the tub on. When you move the tub it disturbs the bulk substrate/mycelium. I use a piece of wood with a small handle attached to lift and move the mono tub.
I have been working on some prototypes to make the bottom harder. Only really problem it is adds a bunch of cost to the tub. Not sure if people would be willing to pay an additional $5- $10 more per tub.

Hi Ashley If you have a growbag with incipient contamination maybe you could just throw it back into the pressure cooker?? Also.. I put a grow bag out into the hot sun one time and it got pretty hot the next day it was all green completely dry and nothing but green powder... Maybe moderate temperatures would be a good thing to eliminate trichoderma
Hi! I have found your videos very educational. I am in need of advise: I already loss one mini-monotube, which was my first trying to grow shrooms, to trichoderma (it was placed inside a fruiting chamber) and I don't want to loose another. I have been reading and watching content and I was wondering if I put my mini-minotube with the lid closed (with some air-holes covered with micropore in the box part) inside my fruiting chamber, will that work? My intention is to not expose the mycelium directly to the elements (therefore, to possible contaminants) by keeping the tube closed, but giving it air and humidity through the fruiting chamber, opening the big box to keep air flowing and spraying water, so the closed mini-monotube will recibe both in a indirect way. Does it makes sense? Do you think it can work? Thanks!
Can anyone help me, I’m worried I have trich but I’ve tried tried the q-tip test but have clean q-tips after rubbing the “area”. The “area” is blue not green on the myc. I’m leaning towards bruising from heavy water droplets during misting. Any help would be appreciated.

I discovered the blueing as I had finished my first flush and was picking the fruits. The day after soaking and putting back in the monotype, I discovered even more blueing. Which I would think to associate with temp change, or possible handling. Appreciate the reply and putting my mind at easy! Much love 🙏
hi, can you take 2-3 mushrooms from one monotub, put it in an empty monotub with the substrate, and wait for the spores to drop. will it then grow again without using the grain bag?

I have the inflatable tub also and found that if you set it on cardboard or a large tub lid it works great!
A 1'x2' floor tile works well.

Sounds like normal bluing of the mycelium as it's maturing. As you say, maybe as a result of bruising.
