I've followed you on and off for awhile and LOVE your commitment to user-generated content. Doom 3 never got any "quality" attention and I'm convinced UltraViolence is the first "Doom-like" mod for Doom 3 that actually improves the game. I played it 4 times over, which is rare - I don't usually play the things I make, lol... I realize it's not exactly a "retro" game and am not asking you for a video feature -- but go ahead and review/tear it apart if you think the mod is good enough and you enjoy it! I have nothing to gain and hope that anyone who stumbles on the mod finds it fun.
@@RangeTeaGaming Hi, we're thinking in a future, make a second "episode" but instead following the classic doom style we are thinking to make some kind of hud portal like Quake's Arcane Dimension, and make a continue flow on updates adding new maps to the formula, doing the things as this way we're not forced to work during years to make some new content. This new maps would be not only focus in a blood/doom/hexen/heretic also we could work for snow themed maps, or spider (web) liar themed maps etc....

The view-sprite for the UAC Tesla Rifle looks like a modified the bayonet rifle from early versions of Doom. Edit: also the hedge maze in the pit map having a bunch of tech stuff meshed into it is really cool!
flow of these maps is really impressive, it can get bit confusing at times, especially with backtracking across whole map in some levels, but it would be cool to see such smooth transitions and teleports in some big budget game ...
When I saw the video title, I couldn't believe it. When I saw how old the video is, I couldn't believe it. Yet it's true. Bloom finally released. THIS IS GETTING ME HARDER THAN TERMINATOR ARMOR!
20:52 - This part glitched out for me and I was stuck wallhumping for a good hour before I just decided to pistol start it and realized the switch was supposed to open the door, after you kill the bosses. (The part where IL turned around.) Very nice.
Had a lot of fun with this mod. Quality work with great attention to detail. So grateful for such people. I donated a couple of bucks and you should, too :D

26:50 - The Nightmare mode disables respawning enemies, if you want to take it a step further. It's quite do-able, honestly. I'd have to check what the difference between it and Extra Crispy is.
I installed this the minute that it dropped, and I was blown away! The demo was one thing, but the entire game was something I had been watching and waiting for for a long time! The floor tiles at the beginning killed me right away, but I finally got the hang of it. FYI, you can create a portable version by installing Delta Touch on an Android phone and pairing it with a Bluetooth controller.
Dark Station was just as confusing to navigate at some point as the others, but holy crap the submerged part was one of the coolest things Ive ever experienced .
Glad to see you finally cover Bloom, excellent video as always. I already asked this in a previous video's comment section, but since you asked for future Mod Madness video suggestions, I'll simply restate my desire to see you play Doom 32x Resurrection since it's an awesome overhaul of the Sega 32x port that adds a bunch of much needed touch ups and QoL feautres. If you need emulator recommendations, it plays well on Kega Fusion, PicoDrive, and Bizhawk.
Love the content, no matter what mod or WAD you’re playing; whether revamps or ‘boom-boom pow-pows’ I enjoy the sadistic and creative content. Keep it up 👍.

The mod got an update and most complaints in the video were actually implemented. Example being in the pits when activating the door that opens the room in front of the mansion, the gate now opens along with it minimizing back tracking.
Chicken soup. Get pot of hot water. Put it on one of those red squares. go to the other red square. chuck the chicken at it go back to the first red square, bam, telefragged soup, May or may not contain mettle flakes or lost souls.
Would like to add for anyone that wants to try this mod out, I had to go into the Full Options in the options menu to be able to even access the Bloom settings. There's not a lot there, but it might just have the one or two toggles you were looking for.
Really love you Icarus been a subscriber since ages and i love how you explain things in detail and your vocabulary it's like the fancy narrator from the darkest dungeons, gotta love the doom mod community makes the doom game truly eternal!
This is one of the best doom mods to ever grace gzdoom. Beautiful maps and nice sprite work, I recommend it for anyone looking for a interesting combination of two great games.
The reason is you don't get teleported from fall in containment butchery is if the map was actually in Blood you would fall, die, and hope you saved before you did or you're starting the level over with the pistol.
My favourite part of this mod is actually the between-level map. That's such a rare feature, Doom 1's sense of place was actually substantially better than Doom 2's and one instance where the original was best.
Who would play DoooD with Ted (Keanu Reeves) as player character uttering DUDE and EXCELLENT with accompanying guitar riff on a map pack through the history of mankind?
18:35 - As it... always... has? Unfortunately, the enemies are a bit faster in blocking off your path to get to it, instead of regular Tricks and Traps.

I am so surprised that this project actually got done without getting shutdown by cease and desist!. it's not very often you see companies allow stuff from their games being used in other games. Even if its a free mod.
Gonna be real: I wish they hadn't offloaded all the bosses until the very end. There were plenty of opportunities to pace them out over the course of the whole episode with the end being big refights. Also Doom's new weapons don't feel like they...add a lot to the roster. The Flamethrower, Ice Gun, and Lightning Gun all feel like just slight variations on the Plasma Gun. At least one of these could have been turned into a Railgun or something. And it only becomes more apparent when they all become the three-to-four weapons you're maining toward the end of the mod, what with their overabundance of ammo.
I've been through it a couple of times now and I gotta say I definitely agree with your first point. I did like the flamer once I gave it a chance. It's definitely great at frying large groups of zombies. I didn't like the feel of the ice gun at all. So much so that I changed the weapon set up to so that the plasma rifle would show up first and from then on, I rarely used it. It seems to be good at stun locking and killing lone heavies but that's about it. You get your first tesla pretty late and so it feels like I never really got the chance to become acquainted with it. IMHO, the worst part about this mod though was simply that the backtracking felt pretty excessive to me. It's not as bad on the second run but it felt really obnoxious on the first. Don't get me wrong. IMHO, it's a pretty good mod overall. Just has a few flaws.

Strain and reserve the liquid and spoon off any of the excess chicken fat. Chop the chicken into small pieces and add back to the soup liquid. Add the pasta and cook until al dente. Serve with crusty bread. Enjoy :D it serves 4, or one hungry Doomer
Have you guys played the Ghostbusters PC game from like 2009 or so? There are these ghost realm levels that have designs like this. Really fun game, I recommend it to anyone. It's actually the 3rd part of the Ghostbusters story that never got made into a movie, so they made it into a game.

I do wish the enemies weren't randomized in some places. Alot of the time it's just a cluster fuck of enemies that burst through a door when you open it. Strategic monster placement is much more immersive and feels less like a good map with a monster randomizer mod added.
Doood mode would be an excellent unlock able. Just mix all weapons, double the enemy and pickup count, and make the enemy ai run on hurt me plenty for a massive power fantasy.
If there is going to be more to BLOOM, I think they blew their too early from the looks things. Did you fight any of those boss enemies before the final level? cause it looked like a boss rush without introducing the bosses

If there is going to be more to BLOOM, I think they blew their too early from the looks things. Did you fight any of those boss enemies before the final level? cause it looked like a boss rush without introducing the bosses
