I started off just improvising to get an idea of where it would take me and what kind of concept would materialize. I then viewed and listened to this very tape many times before going to bed as inspiration to trigger the creative subconscious.
The next day I structured a concept and decided on specific melodies for the presentation. Of course, composing and performing are different dynamics. Trying to perform what I composed proved to be a challenge especially since my performance muscles were a bit rusty.
As part of this “Creative Process” series, I decided to share the frustrations I went through trying to nail this mofo. I also shared a few of the outtakes involved.

NON-SEQUITUR CAMEOS
DOG: I am fond of dogs especially ones that are unreal.
OLSEN TWINS: Many moons ago I played a wanna-be cowboy for one of their Mystery TV Shows. I called myself Bongo Buckaroo.
BRUCE WILLIS: Before he blew up with the Moonlighting TV Series, we did a Miami Vice Episode titled “No Exit”.
MADONNA: I had a featured role in the film “Who’s That Girl" starring Madonna
SALMA HAYEK: Got to meet and work with Salma on the film “54”. We do a few friendly purely innocent hangs. Enough said I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

Xylophone is the most soothing and I learned seeing firsthand kids compliment this instrument and play curiously and intoxicating. It helps them relax. Maybe technology took a toll on them. Your playing and sound made the Savannah Band/Kid Creole extra unique, the solos and playing throughout all those albums always made those great songs even more special...and your excellent solo on the opening track "Going Places" on the Fresh Fruit album is still one of my faves by ANYONE on that instrument, like bells from Heaven really....Ring Dem Bells brother!!!!....enjoying these videos a lot!

@@alanoneill3065 I gave a shoutout to Gary Burton. He (now retired) was the greatest in terms of pure mastery of the instrument in addition to his musicality. He's on a whole different level or planet. However, there is something I do that Burton can't do and that is making mistakes which is why he could never upload a video like this (-:

OMG, u r just too cool. How I wish that was the case. This is on the up and up.
I was going to delete all this xtra stuff then decided to share what sometimes goes on with an artist even when trying to put together a small project. In the past, my Ego would have prevented me from doing it in the name of reputation protection but today I enjoy sharing it even if elite musicians may scoff at me or judge me as inept. It gave me a good laugh.
