For years I had been thinking it's an easy solo, just some guitar doodling. It's seemingly easy, but it's not. Very clever figures, especially those hammer-ons and pull-offs patterns it's just incredible how much you can actually learn from studying one solo.
nicely done! it sounds easy, but it's incredibly difficult because of all of Robby's techniques and precise timing between each note. such a great song overall, especially Jim Morrison's singing ability
Ha! I was playing along note for note, really only needing to see how you played the high part at 1:20, and you flubbed it just like I do, every time, lol. RK must have had something guiding his fingers, because even he can't reproduce it exactly like the record. Great video!
I'm over here trying to jazz up my leads and all I had to do was listen to light my fire... which was the first song in English I ever remember hearing!!
Fantastic lesson mate! You should have thousands of subscribers based on the quality of this video. I love the Doors. Have a request for When The Music I s Over. Cheers!👍👍
Thank you! I make my own backing tracks but only enough of the song to demonstrate the main parts. I think there’s a few good backing tracks already on UA-cam for light my fire. Hope that helps!
You have to put the song through an equalizer. The chords at the end make a new song. They mixed this song wrong by not emphasizing the chords at the end. You must, must hear it through an equalizer if your a doors/ Krieger fan. Must.
Material? Do you mean the equipment I'm using to record? If so, I recorded the audio directly into Logic Pro X and used the built in amplifier options. Hope that helps :)
So the original recording I believe is played a half step up and slightly faster than the more commonly listened to re mastered one. This is probably what he’s playing

The timing is super difficult for me to get right . A lot of things are difficult in this solo . For me lol
Exactly I mean just look how bad this dude is struggling. It’s hard

Is is tuned down a half step?
thats what im wondering
What’s the tuning?
That's the Standard
Great
What material do you play with?
Material? Do you mean the equipment I'm using to record? If so, I recorded the audio directly into Logic Pro X and used the built in amplifier options. Hope that helps :)
Wait do you have a distortion pedal pressed down?
No pedals. It was a direct signal into Logic Pro. I then used the amps in logic to get the sound I wanted. Hope that helps.
Kind of new to guitar but do you know what mode(s) or scale(s) this is in? Cheers!
A blend of A Dorian and A aeolian (ya bog standard minor scale). Hope that helps!
@@darylsharman2516 Much appreciated! 🎸🇨🇦

Where did you get the backing music?
I made it.
@@darylsharman2516 can you please share? 🙏
@@Jdinrbfidndifofkdndjoflfndjdk it was never a complete backing track. There was only enough for each guitar part. Nothing to share.

Sounds like you’re playing it a half step higher than the studio recording

@@rk.0423 yeah I realize that now. I bought the record recently and the version on the record is higher than what’s on Spotify
I love you
Wouldve been cool if you went into Eleanor Rigby too lol
